Juliet's POV

"Psst..Juliet? Are you awake?"

I opened my eyes, and saw that it was Hayes.

"What are you doing here? How'd you even get in here?" I said.

"We're going on a date." Hayes said.

I looked at the time.

"At three A.M?" I rubbed my eyes.

"Get dressed. We're leaving in thirty minutes." He said as he went out of my fire escape. Maybe that's how he got in.

I went to my bathroom, put on gray sweatpants, a random lacrosse shirt, and my maroon vans.

I grabbed my bag which carried my essentials and climbed out the window on to the fire escape.

"Are you ready?" Hayes asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I answered.

We walked down the stairs and we were on the sidewalk. We climbed down the stairs into a car.

"Hey, sleepy head!" Nash said.

"Where are we going?" I closed my eyes.

"We're going to the top of the Empire State Building, then to the Statue of Liberty." Hayes said.

I opened my eyes.

"Here's some coffee. Taylor made it." Nash said as he gave it to me.

"Thank god, I wouldn't be able to stay awake." I joked.

We drove in silence until Nash turned on the radio.

Stay With Me by Sam Smith was on.

I was singing along and after the song was over Hayes was looking at me.

"What..?" I said.

"Nothing." Hayes grinned.

"Do I sing bad?" I said.

"No. Actually, you sing good." He smiled.

I kissed him on the cheek. Nash pulled up to the Empire State Building.

"Have fun you guys." Nash said as he parked his car in the front.

Hayes grabbed my hand, and we walked inside. We went to the elevator, went up to the top floor, walked out and went to the window.

It was a mistake that I looked down.

"Oh my god..." I said, staring back up.

"Are you afraid of heights?" Hayes asked.

"Y-Yeah.." I said.

He cupped his hands on my cheeks and made me face him.

"I didn't know. Just look at me."

I did, and it calmed me down.

"Are you okay?" He asked, and I nodded.

I walked away from the window. I admired him looking at the view below.

I got out my Polaroid, and took a picture of him and the view of the city lights.

"What was that for?" Hayes asked.

"Something for school." I smiled.

We were walking back to the elevator when we saw a flashlight.

"Hey, who's there?"

"Hayes? Are we allowed here?!" I freaked.

The flashlight shined on us.

"You kids aren't allowed in here!"

"Run!" Hayes said as he grabbed my hand and ran to the elevator.

The door closed just in time.

"He's going to take the stairs." I said.

"Then let's just stop at one of the floors. He's not going to make it in the lobby in time." Hayes said.

"We'd make it faster if we got to the lobby and run." I said.

He nodded, and the elevator was making its way down.

"What if we get caught?" I said.

"I...I don't know." Hayes sighed.

He kissed my cheek.

"We're going to make it, and if we don't, I'm going to make you run for it." Hayes said.

The elevator opened and we were at the lobby.

We ran to Nash's car, and we heard footsteps behind us.

"Stop!" The person chasing us yelled.

We got in the car.

"Nash!" I screamed as he stepped on the gas and the car sped off.

My heart was pounding, my head was swirling, but I was laughing.

"That was the coolest thing I've ever done." I laughed.

"Juliet! You're crazy! We almost got caught!" Hayes said, but he was laughing with me.

"But we didn't!" I laughed. Nash was laughing with us.

"Where to?" Nash asked.

"The Statue of Liberty." Hayes said.

We drove with music blasting. Team by Lorde was playing.

We drove until we reached a lake.

"We have to take a boat to there." Hayes said as he grabbed my hand and we went out the car.

There was a huge boat, with lights and everything.

"We're going in that?" I asked.

"Is that a problem?" Hayes asked.

"No, not really." I said as we both got in.

He drove the boat, which he seemed to be experienced at. We were at the island where the Statue of Liberty is.

We got out, and we climbed up the rocks up to land.

"Wow." I said.

The Statue of Liberty was lit up.

"Yeah." Hayes said.

We walked up, and we walked to the entrance.

"Are you ready?" Hayes asked.

"I guess." I said shyly.

We walked inside, and we climbed up the stairs.

We made it to the crown, and there was a window to show the sky and everything.

"This is so beautiful. Thank you for making me wake up." I said.

"It's the least I could do." Hayes kissed me on the cheek.

I looked at him.

His blue eyes were staring back at me, and he leaned in and kissed me softly.

I kissed him back.

His arms lifted me up, as I wrapped my legs around him.

We stopped kissing, but we stayed in this position.

"Hayes?"

"Yes?"

"Are we allowed here?" I laughed.

"Probably not." He laughed. I kissed him again.

"Then we should go." I said.

We walked hand and hand back to the boat. He rowed back to the car, and we got out.

"That was nice." I smiled.

"I thought so." He said as we went into the car.

"So is the date over? I don't want it to end." I laughed.

"Then it's not over." Hayes said as he looked at Nash and he looked back at Hayes. He started to drive.

"Where are we going?" I smiled.

"You'll see." Hayes kissed my temple.

We ended up at Central Park.

"What are we doing here?" I said.

Hayes reached into the back, and got out a picnic basket and a blanket.

"Does this answer your question?" He asked.

"Yes, I guess so." I said.

We walked out of the car, and we found a spot in the middle of the park.

There was an opening in the trees that showed the night sky.

Hayes set up a spot and we dug into our food.

"So is this breakfast? Or what?" I laughed.

"You can call it whatever you want." Hayes said.

I bit into my sandwich.

"What made you want to do this?" I asked.

"I can't see you besides school, and what happened yesterday was really rough. I wanted to spend time with you, and I thought the only time we could see each other is if we sneak out." Hayes said.

"That's sweet." I smiled. He kissed my cheek.

"You know what's funny? We just met almost 2 months ago." I laughed.

"That's really weird. I thought we've been together for a while." Hayes said.

"Hayes?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you think I'm pretty?" I asked.

"That's not even a question. Of course I think you're pretty. You're more than pretty. You're beautiful." Hayes said, and I couldn't help but smile.

"I've never had a boyfriend before, besides you and Aaron." I said.

"You'd be shocked how many guys were into you when you walked into school." Hayes said.

"I just don't believe it." I said.

"You're beautiful and you shouldn't forget it. If you do, I'll remind you." He smiled.

I kissed him, and he kissed me back. Small kisses led to a make out session, and he was smiling as I kissed him. I was giggling.

"You're cute when you giggle." Hayes said.

We lied down on the blanket, staring at the sky.

"A year ago, this wouldn't have happened to me." I said.

"A year ago, I would've been drunk or something." Hayes said.

"Oh my god, don't say that." I laughed.

"Sorry, but that was the past." He said.

"Tell me about it." I said.

"Are you sure? It's pretty bad." Hayes said.

"Tell me."

"So, before I moved here I lived in North Carolina. I drank everyday, I tried smoking weed. My friends and I were always doing things like stealing, and I lost my virginity last year. I just couldn't control myself. My mom decided it was time to move to New York to start a new life. I guess it didn't work because I met all the guys and bad stuff was still going on. But then I met you." Hayes said.

I blushed, but he couldn't see it because it was dark.

"What happened when you met me?" I asked.

"Something's changed. I didn't know what it was. At first, I thought you were annoying-"

I smacked him.

"Ow!" He rubbed his arm.

"I'm not that annoying." I said.

"Let me finish! I thought you were into me, and I was with Melanie but we broke up the day after because she thought I was into you, and maybe I was. So, I couldn't stop looking at you, being with you, or annoying you. And I ended up falling for you." He said, and I pecked his lips.

"That's sweet." I said as I rested my head on his chest.

His heart was beating fast, and I lied down on top of him.

"Juliet, what are you doing?" He asked.

I kissed him hard on the lips.

He was smiling, and he laid me down next to him, so he was on top of me.

"Hayes..." I said in between breaths.

He moved his mouth to my neck, sucking on the skin. He softly bit it.

A small groan left my mouth.

I covered it, and he was laughing.

He grabbed my hand, and pulled it away from my mouth. His mouth was moving lower and lower.

I grabbed both of his hands and intertwined them with mine.

He stopped and he looked at me.

"I think I'm in love with you." Hayes said as he buried his head in my neck.

My hands got lost in his hair.

I knew it was the make out talking, but I said it back.

"I think I love you back." I said as he crashed his lips on mine.
