I entered the house, dripping wet, too listless to close the door. Charlie's face fell when he saw the pain and lifelessness returned to me. He grabbed a blanket, and wrapped me in it. "Billy called, said you and Jacob had a fight. But, hey, you guys will work it out, I'm sure of it."
"I'm... going to change." I left to go upstairs.
I walked into my room, where Bella was waiting for me. She pulled me into a hug. "I heard about what happened," she told me. "I'm sorry. But this is the reason I didn't hang out with Jacob. I should've warned you. I'm so sorry."
I hugged Bella back. "There's no need to apologize," I replied. "It's not your fault. It never was." I pulled away. "It's Jacob, not you."
"I'll let you do your thing," Bella told me. She exited the room. I grabbed an outfit and changed into it.
