The next morning was Saturday. I got woken up by Bella.
"What do you want?" I asked, still half asleep. I rolled over.
"Are you trying to take my man away from me?" she asked.
"What are you talking about?"
"My man! Are you trying to take him away from me?"
I sat up. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Jacob! Jacob Black! He's supposed to be mine, and you're taking him away from me! Who do you think you are?" She pulled me out of my bed.
"I think I'm Alissa Swan, your old best friend!" I straightened my clothes, knowing that this was about to be a big fight. "And it wasn't my decision for Jacob to like me! It was his, all his. I have nothing to do with it!"
"Well, obviously it is you. He's never had a crush on you before, and we've known Jacob for almost our whole lives!"
"I don't care! Let him like me, but I don't want to fight with you. I really don't. So please go away."
"Oh? You want me to go away? Because you're scared of me?" She slapped me and then punched me.
"Charlie!!" I yelled, holding my cheek where Bella slapped and punched.
"Charlie isn't here to help you. You're going to have to suffer through this yourself, which are the consequences of your choice."
"My choice? What choice??" She was silent. "Exactly! I didn't do anything! You slap and punch me, while I didn't do anything! We're supposed to be best friends! We're supposed to be sisters! Well, obviously, we're not." I stormed out of the room, and I heard Bella crying back in my room as I walked away.
Good.
Let her cry.
I don't care anymore.
