I've written a book that is more than 100 chapters long wtf is wrong with mEe

Anyways have a celebratory horrific Riley doodle

Pale ass bitch

__

I stayed awkwardly resting against Aaron for a while, mainly because he hadn't moved his arm despite that tense conversation.

He seemed to be reading over his work casually, and didn't appear to be too put off. And he usually is so easy to read, so I could only assume he really didn't actually mind.

I'm probably over thinking this, but I feel really bad.

I jumped up with a start when I suddenly heard Alex's voice and two pairs of feet approaching.

"Ow." Aaron complained slightly as he rubbed his arm and I winced.

"Sorry."

"Are we gonna go somewhere or what??" Alex jumped into the living room with Caleb close behind him.

Aaron made a face at them. "I'm tired." He said and Alex rolled his eyes.

"Well we'll go explore without you then!"

"Good god, no." Aaron exclaimed as he immediately stood up and I smiled in amusement.

"Are you coming?" Alex asked me, and seemed unsure for a second when he realised his mistake.

"Sure." I smiled and he blinked at me.

"Oh, okay...."

"Go ask Hunter if he's willing to show himself." Aaron ordered Caleb and he frowned in confusion.

"Didn't you hear him fall into the stream earlier?" I smirked and he shook his head while Alex immediately started laughing.

"I wondered why he just suddenly stopped shouting." He snorted before stepping back out into the dining room. "Hunter are you dry enough to come out yet, or are you hiding in shame??!" He shouted up the stairs making Aaron tssk at him.

"Fuck you!" Hunter's voice called from the top of the stairs, and he started walking down them with a sigh.

"Are we going somewhere?" He asked, still patting his hair with a towel.

"Around, apparently." Caleb smiled as Nate slammed the upper room's door open.

"Do we have to?" He sighed as he rested on the floor, hanging over the edge and staring down at us.

"You don't, but you'll be on your own." Aaron replied and Nate's eyes widened.

"No way, I'll get kidnapped." He said before sliding down the ladder making me wince.

"Don't do that Nathan, you could hurt yourself." Aaron worried with a frown and Nate rolled his eyes.

"Les gooo!!" Alex bounded out of the building in a flash and the other's followed less enthusiastically.

"Why can't you lot just want to hang out inside all day where you can't get yourselves killed." Aaron complained quietly as he waited for all of us to leave and I smiled at him.

"You don't have to worry so much, I'm sure they're responsible enough to look after themselves."

"I'd rather not risk it." He said before glaring at Alex who was running up the hill like he was trying to race someone. "Alex that's the wrong way! And leads to private property by the looks of it!" He shouted and I couldn't help but chuckle to myself.

This is going to be amusing.

-

"Why the hell is it so crowded and busy?" Aaron sighed with his arms crossed awkwardly over his chest.

It was really hard to keep up with Alex as he bounded around, but the others seemed to be used to it, hardly taking notice of him.

"It's a small town with lots of houses, plus it's Cornwall, everyone loves going here." I explained with a fake smile, because the amount of people was also making me nervous.

Get ahold of yourself idiot.

"Alex!" Aaron suddenly shouted, and I looked around to notice he'd disappeared.

"He's in there." Hunter stated in a monotonous voice and pointed to a shop without looking up from his phone.

It was a small shop that seemed to only have one purpose, Cornish fudge. Of course he's in there.

Aaron made a face of distaste making me snicker to myself and shake my head.

"I think I might want to try some of that too." Nate wondered as he looked up at it.

"Well you better go buy your own, because you know Alex won't let you get near his." Hunter remarked and they all smiled.

"Do you remember when he used to growl like a dog if you went near his food?" Nate smirked as he reminisced.

He what?

I decided to not involve myself in that conversation, I didn't really belong in it.

"At least he never bit you." Aaron complained and Caleb looked concerned.

"When was this?" He asked, and I was reminded of how he hadn't grown up with them either.

"When he was around 11 to 14 I think." Aaron answered and Nate smirked.

"That's a long time to have a furry phase to be honest."

"I don't think it was a furry phase, Nathan."

"Furries?" Alex popped his head out of the store with fudge stuffed in his mouth and I couldn't help but snort and laugh.

"At least, I think it wasn't." Aaron added as Alex bounded up to us again and glared at Nate as he looked at his bag of fudge.

"What are you talking about?" He asked curiously.

"Tax evasion." Hunter remarked before looking around. "Where to next?" He said, then seemed confused at his own words.

"You've barely been in this country for a week and you've already picked up their colloquialisms?" I chuckled and he frowned.

"I didn't even know people said that."

"You probably subconsciously copied someone talking." Aaron considered and he shrugged.

I noticed how uncomfortable Aaron seemed standing in the crowd and smiled. "How about going down to the beach?" I suggested quietly.

"OMG YES I HAVEN'T SEEN THE SEA SINCE I WAS LIKE, 15!!" Alex squeeked before running up the road. He turned around and came back. "The sea wouldn't be up a hill." He pointed out and ran the other way.

"Has he taken his pills?" Aaron worried and we all shrugged.

"Don't worry, a tourist location isn't complete without an obnoxious American running around." I commented and they all rolled their eyes at me.

-

"Alex it'd be best if you followed the signs." Aaron reminded him as he approached us again after reaching a dead end.

"Yeah right, reading, I'll just follow you." He said and Aaron gave him a look before turning up a path that read 'beach'.

I raised a brow at Alex as we walked and he pulled his tongue out.

"It's an English beach so don't expect much." I added after a few moments just to make sure.

"It's cute." Hunter commented as he looked down below. The beach was outside of the walls of the small fishing port, and you could see that it would usually be below the water level when the tide came in. There were plenty of large seaweed covered rocks, and caves inside the cliff faces that cut the beach off after a few yards.

There was a very small amount of people on the beach, and only one person daring to venture into the water.

"That water is probably freezing." I stated and Nate gave me a cheeky grin.

"You scared of a little cold?"

"What? You can't go in there, you'll have a fit." I complained as he jumped down onto the sand.

"I'll take that as a challenge!" He shouted before Hunter pushed him out of the way and ran in front.

"Race you!"

Aaron gave a sound of worry as he watched, but made no move to go after them. The rest of us just stayed stood on the wall, not seeming very enthusiastic.

Alex opened his bag of fudge and munched on it as Caleb rather timidly made his way down the steps.

"Want some?" He suddenly said and practically shoved the thing into my face. I physically recoiled from it and took a step back, and Aaron gave a yelp as I crashed into him.

"... I'll take that as a no." He snorted while Aaron flailed around trying to balance himself on the edge of the wall.  I grabbed onto his arm just to make sure and blushed.

"Sorry. And I don't eat that kind of thing." He should definitely know that already, it's not like I spent a week with him at my father's house or anything...

"Not even going to bother asking you." He rolled his eyes at Aaron."You two are so boring when it comes to food, live your life!" He remarked before jumping down.

"I'll be living it more than you after you get diabetes!" Aaron retorted immaturely and I rolled my eyes at both of them as I made my way down the steps.

"Are you afraid of the sea or something?" I commented as Aaron remained planted on the wall.

"No, I'm just watching."

"Hmm, you're boring." I teased and he scoffed.

"Bitch??" He suddenly jumped down off of the wall. "Fine."

Wow, I should trigger him into doing things more often.

I chuckled as he walked after me. "How about we swap places, I can be the moody one watching everything and you can get along with your brothers for once." I suggested and he snorted.

"I can get along with them. Someone's got to be the mature one though."

"How about, if you can get every one of their heads under the water, I'll...
Give you an IOU or something." I proposed and he narrowed his eyes at me with a smile.

"You underestimate me." He stated and I smirked.

"Is that a yes?" I persisted as he turned around, and he gave me a quick glance before heading over to them. Only Nate and Hunter were standing in the water, soaking their clothes to death, while Alex tried to drag Caleb towards them.

I can't believe they've all left their shoes on... Wait, Hunter took his phone with him...

I frowned in concern before spotting his phone and some keys on a rock near the shoreline. Phew, he's not that stupid.

I grimaced in discomfort as I remembered how bloody cold the English sea is, but the nostalgic memories made me smile. I sat down on a large rock and glanced at the rockpools in interest.

I'd never go here with my parents, but my nannies would love to take me to the seaside all of the time, free holiday for them after all.

A loud scream and splashing distracted me from my thoughts, and I looked over to see Aaron had both Nate and Hunter by the scruff of their shirts and was dragging them into deeper water. Hunter was laughing but Nate seemed less than impressed.

He must have lost his footing because all three of their heads went under for a few moments and I started laughing at them.

"Hey you're not getting away!" Aaron called to Caleb who had began sneaking back towards the shore and he started running.

I watched with wide eyes as Aaron swam then sprinted with surprising speed after him and Caleb actually squealed as he caught up.

He lifted him up in a big bear hug and was laughing as Caleb kicked out and struggled to get away.

"It's too cold!!" Caleb tried to reason but Alex had grabbed his legs and started helping Aaron carry him into the water. "No!!"

They dropped him into the water with a heavy splash before standing with their arms crossed admiring their handy work.

There was a few moments of peace until Aaron suddenly pushed Alex sideways and he squeeked and flailed around before splashing into the water.

"Betrayal!" He yelled as his head surfaced again and Aaron laughed at him.

"I recall making no such alliance." He retorted and Alex huffed before leaping after him. "Hey!" He complained as Caleb also joined in trying to drag him under, and he held up well until Nate tackled him from behind. You could hardly see what was going on with all of the splashing, and Hunter just jumped into the pile blindly.

"You're all weak!" Aaron gave a deep chuckle as he managed to dunk both Alex and Caleb under by pushing their heads down.

My mouth began to hurt a little from smiling so much at them. I'd never seen that side of Aaron before, it's so easy to forget that he's only just turning 20 when he acts so serious and worried all of the time.

I narrowed my eyes as Nate and Hunter suddenly ran up the shore towards me.

"Up for a dip?" Nate called and I stood up.

"You better not!" I warned before running round to the other side of the rock when they continued coming.

"You go round one side and I'll go the other." Hunter instructed Nate and I tensed.

"Mate I will end you!" I growled before running away when they circled the rock.

"It's funny how he turns all slangy when he's angry." Nate teased as I jumped up onto a small platform of big smooth rocks.

"Piss off, twat." I stuck my tongue out at him as I walked along the ledge and he rolled his eyes before jumping up. "NoPe." I jumped down again and then screamed when Alex tackled me out of nowhere.

"Gotchuu." He exclaimed and squeezed tight but couldn't quite manage to get me to move.

"No way! Unhand me peasant!" I struggled as Nate grabbed one of my legs trying to lift me up. "Tosser!" I continued to fire insults as I grabbed him round the neck and pulled him down.

"Ow!" He complained as Alex tried to pull me off of him and Hunter joined and attempted to lift me up by my waist.

"Bugger off all of you!" I laughed, managing to free myself from both of them.

I squeeked in shock as I was suddenly picked up by a much larger force and had to let go of Nate's neck.

"No fucking way!" I complained as Aaron practically flung me over his shoulder and he chuckled. "If you dare I'm dropping this IOU deal!" I tried and he snorted as he began splashing through the water.

"You can't change the rules after the terms are met." He said, and I was stopped from replying by the water engulfing me.

I gasped as I struggled to keep my head above water and he chuckled.

"It's freezing!" I complained before kicking up and splashing him.

"Man up." Nate teased as he dived into the water again.

"Oh wow you're so badass willingly getting yourself hypothermia." I remarked and pulled my tongue out when he just laughed.

"I'm so soggy!" Caleb complained from the shoreline. "And cold."

"He's right, we need to get back now before it gets too cold." Aaron warned and Alex sighed at him.

"Finnneee." He huffed and gloomily started making his way to shore before suddenly leaning down and scooping up a large amount of water with his arms and flinging it all over Caleb. He gasped and looked at Alex with wide disbelieving eyes.

"Right." He growled and ran after him when he made a break for it.

He grabbed a ball of wet sand and threw it at him.

"Ew!" Alex complained as it hit the back of his neck.

"Don't start that, we look stupid enough as it is!" Aaron warned before stomping out of the water after them.

I took a look around at the beach infront of me before standing up and heading back towards the steps as well.

Fuck it's cold.

"Hurry up I'm freezing." Hunter called to the rest of us from the top of the wall.

I quickly ran up the stairs after them before I was left behind.

-

That escapade seemed to have boosted everyone's energy levels, and they continued boisterously chatting and joking around all of the way back to the house.

I stayed at the back of the group, feeling slightly uncomfortable and self-conscious about the marks on my skin beginning to show up in the cold.

I caught Nate staring at them while we waited for Aaron to unlock the door and gave him a sharp defensive glare.

"Sorry, I'll wait while you get changed by the way." He said awkwardly.

"I didn't mean to glare, sorry, you can go first it's fine." I apologised and he gave me a small smile.

"I need a shower I hate salt!" Alex complained as he went through the door and Hunter suddenly made a break for it up the stairs.

"Bagsie first!"

"Hey!!"

"There's a pool shower you fools." Aaron spat and I chuckled.

"Good idea, it's not like my clothes can get any wetter anyway." Nate commented before walking out of the back door.

As nostalgic as it was I was rather uncomfortable with the dried salt water on my skin so I followed after him.

I looked at the glistening pool in interest as Nate quickly stepped under the shower.

"You don't see outdoor pools in Washington much either." He commented and I smiled.

"It's strange, I'm unsure if I've actually seen one before..."

"I think our 'family friends'" Nate commented with air quotation marks. "Used to have one in the garden, never got used though."

I smiled at him as he stood next to me at the pools edge, and he gave me a confused look before I suddenly pushed him.

"Oi!" He yelped as he tried to balance himself, before failing miserably and falling into the pool.

"Oops." I snorted and he narrowed his eyes at me as he tread water.

I backed away from the edge before he could get revenge and stepped under the shower quickly to wash the salt water off of my clothes and hair.

"Foooddd!" Alex's voice suddenly yelled through the house.

"There isn't any food in the whole building." I heard Aaron's reply as I turned off the water, only to have Nate stomp up to it and turn it back on giving me a glare.

"It's only a bit of Chlorine." I snickered.

"That's a lie, Alex has a stash of sweets under his bed." Caleb commented from within the kitchen.

"Hey!" Alex snapped at him. "I'm gonna have to move it now. And what do you mean there's no food??"

"You lot are going to have to go out and eat tonight. There is food arriving later and I'm going to go pick it up." Aaron explained and I frowned as I stood in the doorway.

"Why would you order shopping? There are shops around here." Nate questioned from behind me.

"I don't think there'd be anything suitable for us in a small shop like that." Aaron explained and Alex rolled his eyes.

"You mean you and Riley."

"If you get anything I wouldn't eat you're cooking it yourself, that's always been the rules." Aaron warned.

"I feel sorry for your future children! What, you're not going to let them have ice cream because you wouldn't eat it?"

"I gave you anything you wanted when you were younger, remember. That was different."

"Wait, so you've always been like this?" I wondered suddenly.

"What, an asshole?" Nate commented.

"Vegan." I gave him a look.

"Yes. Always."

"What? How???" I raised my brows.

"His mother was this hippie wierdo." Alex commented and Aaron glared at him. "Er, sorry, I didn't mean..." Alex blushed awkwardly and made a guilty expression as Aaron looked down at the floor sadly.

Oh dear, sensitive subject.

"I'll give you the money, you shouldn't have to book a reservation for most of the restaurants around here so you can look around and pick one." Aaron changed the subject. "I expect you back by nine." He stated as he turned away from everyone.

"Are you coming?" Caleb asked me and I shook my head.

"There won't be any options I can eat in a traditional village like this." I explained. "Besides, I've got other plans." I smiled.

"Uh, nothing illegal I hope?" Aaron frowned and I smirked.

"You hope." I teased.

"You mean I'm going to have to get along with Alex, Nate and Hunter by myself?" Caleb complained and Alex elbowed him.

"Good luck, I'm going to get changed." I said before turning around and heading up the ladder to the room.

I quickly changed into dry briefs, jeans and a jumper before retrieving my phone from where it was charging. They all seemed to be still chatting loudly in the kitchen, with the addition of Hunter, and I put socks and converses on before quietly heading out of the front door.

I walked into the village centre, which was basically a small collection of shops. It was getting quieter as the evening drew on, so it was easy to make my way back down to the beach.

Instead of jumping off of the wall however I carried on along it, eventually reaching a cliff side path.

I walked along it for a little while, passing a few couples and dog walkers before settling on the edge looking over the sea.

I sat with my legs dangling over, but it wasn't that risky, as the drop below was cut off by a bit of land before the steep drop into the sea.

The sound of the sea waves was peaceful, and all of the gulls were starting to settle down, so the landscape was practically silent.

I let out a sigh before running a hand through my hair. It felt nice to be away from all of the energy and ruckus, but I couldn't feel relaxed being completely alone. I had that annoying fear in my chest that had recently developed. I kept on feeling like I was leaving myself exposed to attack, it was frustrating.

I looked into the greenery behind me, and then down each direction of the path. There was no one here.

Hmm, maybe this feeling will never go away.

I sighed, flicking through my phone for a few minutes before putting it in my pocket and just staring at the waves.

I watched the colour change in the waves as the sun began to set, and the breeze became cooler.

Eventually the amount of passerby's dwindled to nothing, and I started to wonder if I should be getting back before it gets too dark.

I leaned back on my arms and sighed, ignoring the sound of footsteps up the path again.

"Hey Sunshine." The footsteps stopped directly behind me and I smiled.

"Well well, what a coincidence to see you here." I said as I leaned my head back against his legs and looked up at him. "Were you looking for me?" I wondered.

"Maybe subconsciously, but I was planning on going for a little stroll." He said, and I smirked.

"Isn't the cliff side a little dangerous after dark." I warned.

"Maybe a bit, alone especially." He smiled down at me. "How long have you been here?"

"A while." I sighed, using his legs as a back rest.

"Do you want to come with me?"

"I'm too tireddd." I huffed and pouted as he moved his legs. Instead of backing away however, he sat down with me in-between his legs.

Oh, okay.

"I guess this is a pretty good spot." He said, and I turned my head to see him smile at me.

"You're not acting very step-brotherly at the moment you know." I smiled as I leaned back against his chest.

"...I don't really see you as a step-brother." He admitted.

"Then what do you see me as?"

"Riley." He answered simply and I rolled my eyes.

"And what is Riley to you?" I persisted, and I looked back at him again to see he had his eyes closed as he rested his head against my shoulder.

"Hmm."

"'Hmm'? Okay, I'm not sure how I feel about that." I commented and he chuckled.

"I'll tell you later." He said and I snorted.

"You're going to tell me a lot of things later." I remarked, and he snickered quietly.

He wrapped his arms loosely round my waist and then stayed silent. It was like that for a while, just watching the waves and the sunset. I almost began to feel sleepy.

"Are you going to be okay?" Aaron suddenly asked quietly.

"I couldn't say, to be honest." I sighed, looking down at the waves crashing against the rocks. "How about you, are you okay?" I changed the subject.

"I've never been better." He said, and I raised a brow even though he couldn't see it.

"Really? Never?"

"I've had a pretty good life, but I've never had anything going on in it, or anything to make it interesting." He explained. "But now my brothers are finally beginning to be able to look after themselves, so I no longer have that responsibility, which is nice. I'm finishing college, and I have the ability to make my aspirations come true whenever I want them to. And now, I have something that..." He paused. "Makes me feel alive, normal even." He finished after a few moments.

"What?" I questioned, ignoring the couple walk past as they returned from their evening walk.

"Feelings, I never felt before, and worried I would never feel." He admitted.

"Feelings don't make you normal, besides who wants to be normal? You're perfectly fine the way you are." I explained and he gave a deep, amused chuckle.

"Thanks, Sunshine." He said quietly and then kissed my temple making me blush.

"Speaking of sunshine, we need to be getting back before it's pitch black out here." I deflected and he sighed.

"Probably..." He agreed, but made no move to get up.

"Aaron, what happened to your mother?" I suddenly asked, then froze when I realised it could be a bit too sore of a subject.

"She was killed at a protest a few years ago." He explained simply.

"Protest?"

"An anti fur protest, in some European country, I was never told any details."

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine..."

"Did you know her well?"

"Yes, she kept in contact with me, and I visited her whenever she was in this country."

"She traveled?"

"Yeah, she was an animal rights activist." He admitted and chuckled awkwardly. "She never had any money, and travelled around in a van with a few friends."

"How'd your father meet her?" I wondered.

"I really have no idea. Well, it's not like she was unkempt, she was beautiful. Well, at least I think she was."

I smiled at the thought.

"It's sounds like you really loved her."

"I did, she was my hero when I was little."

There was a few moments of silence, before I started to hear boisterous chatting from around the corner.

"Um, Aaron." I warned, and he turned his head to look down the path.

He jumped up as soon as Caleb rounded the corner.

"Um, sorry..." Caleb seemed flustered and I blushed as I struggled to stand up as well.

"How the hell are you all here?" I wondered as Nate, Hunter and Alex caught up.

"I left a note saying that I'd gone for a walk near the cliffs and if I don't come back search for my body." Aaron explained in amusement while scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Yeah and we wanted a walk in the dark anyways, danger, adventure!" Alex jumped around, and I wondered if he'd been drinking. It was legal for him to buy it in this country after all.

"Didn't expect you to be here as well." Nate commented as he looked at me.

"I was already here." I explained, looking at Caleb expecting him to question me, but he just awkwardly looked at the bushes.

"Er, okay. Well we're gunna keep on going!" Alex suddenly bounded forward but Aaron grabbed his arm.

"Not in whatever state you're in, you'll get yourself killed." He warned and Alex rolled his eyes.

"Yeah surrre."

"It is a bit dark out here, it's not like there are street lamps." Hunter pointed out.

"Torches!" Alex persisted, and Nate stopped him from going further.

"I mean our purpose for coming out here in the first place is done so..."

"Oh COME ON. Where is your sense of adventure!?" He huffed and I smiled.

"Also my phone is running out." Hunter added.

"That's because you've been carrying it around with you all day, try to separate from it every once in a while." Nate snapped and he pulled his tongue out at him.

"I'm going." I said before heading back down the path.

"Ugh you're no fun either."

"Enough, Alex. We're going home." Aaron stated and that immediately silenced any further argument.

I quickly made my way down the path and along the wall and then soaked in the eerie night atmosphere. The only lights that were on were lantern shaped street lights above the houses and shops, and there were only a few people out having a drink sitting at pub tables.

"Can we go in the pool then?" I heard Alex wonder from behind and Nate snorted.

"It's even more freezing than earlier!"

"So, what are you, chicken??"

"You lot never run out of energy do you." Aaron sighed and I turned around to wait for them.

"Is that what's so bad about us?" Caleb questioned quietly, and I looked at him to see he was aiming the question at me.

"What?"

"That's why you'd rather be with- er, nevermind."  He seemed to change his mind as everyone looked at him.

"What? You can't stop the question there!" Alex puffed out and I bit my lip.

I don't think I want to know what he was going to ask.

"You mean why he is always around the older brothers instead of us." Nate commented and I tensed.

"Um, that's enough of that you four." Aaron interrupted and Hunter scoffed.

"Four?? I wasn't saying a thing!"

"It's true though isn't it, it's because we're too immature for you!" Alex snapped and I cringed.

Well I guess I've never actually been around people my own age, I'm not used to it.

"I've never purposefully avoided any of you." I said quietly. "It just ended up that way." I sighed.

I'll never fit in with people my own age...

"Mmhm sure, well now you're stuck with us! So you'll have to deal!" Alex pulled his tongue out and I blushed in discomfort.

"Alex." Aaron warned.

"What? The only reason you're not jealous is because you're all over him, heck you're practically in love with him!"

"ALEX." He glared at him with a vibrant blush on his cheeks.

Um...

"Guys the only reason we're here is to get away from the fighting." Hunter pointed out.

"Has he been drinking?" Aaron questioned.

"Maybe we had a little..." Nate admitted awkwardly.

"Are you serious? You're under age, I expected you to be able to look after yourself you're eighteen now!"

"We're not underage in this country!"

"I think I need a drink too." I said to myself as I turned round and headed back to the house.

"Yeah run away as soon as it gets awkward!" Alex called and I snapped my head back towards him.

"I'm not 'running away'." I stated with my arms crossed and he narrowed his eyes. "And it's not like you can talk." I added and he blinked.

"Let's not start anything in the middle of the street please." Aaron suggested but Alex remained glaring at me like he thought it was a stare off or something.

"I may have ran away, but you practically fled the country because of your issues, it's the main reason we're here now! For you!"

"That's not the reason and you know it." I growled, taking a step towards him.

This fucking escalated quickly.

"That's besides the point, we do everything for you and then you just end up being cold and distant, avoiding us as much as you can!" He spat and I scoffed.

"I try not to be! It's hard. And don't be so sour just because I was pissed at you for a few fucking days." I was starting to get angry now, as the rest of them just stood silently with wide eyes.

"How did you think that made me feel??"

"How do you think it made me feel when you insinuated you'd never talk to me again because of a little spat with your brothers!!"

"Well bitch I value the relationship with multiple brothers more than just one of you!!" He yelled and I immediately grabbed him by the collar and pulled him close to my face.

"Don't think I'll let you get away with behaving like this just because you're a little drunk. Go to bed before you make me do something you'll regret." I muttered tensely before letting him go.

"Wow, I've got shivers." Nate commented before Alex suddenly took a swing at me.

"Alex stop!" Aaron shouted and tried to grab him by the arm, he shrugged him off before jumping and tackling my waist.

I stumbled back from his weight and winced as my back hit the ground, before grabbing his hair and pushing him off of me. I managed to get on top of him and held his arms down.

"Just because I've been assaulted doesn't mean I'm weak. I can easily protect myself from the likes of you." I spat as I leaned in close to his face, and he looked away from me with an embarrassed blush on his cheeks.

"Okay okay, get off!" He huffed and I stood up.

"How much did he have?" Aaron wondered, and I looked back at them to see them awkwardly standing around us.

"Not that much...he may have finished ours off too though."

"Alex you're never drinking again until you're of legal age, do you understand? Consider yourself grounded." Aaron growled as he lifted him up and Alex glared at him.

"Drunk actions are sober ideas." Hunter commented casually.

"He's just a bit upset I was being mean to him..." I excused and bit my lip.

"That's no excuse, he's being a little bitch. And to attack someone like that, you're an immature brat Alex." Aaron growled and Alex scoffed.

"It's not like you understand, you haven't fallen out with him and had him snap at you every time you spoke."

"Alex from what I've gathered you kind of asked for it." He said.

"Stop taking his side! You always take his side, even when he hit Luca! God you're so naive, like a lovesick puppy following him around all of the time and never leaving him alone, it's disgusting."

"That's a bit fucking rude. And it's not like it's not mutual." I defended with a sharp glare and Alex seemed taken aback.

I didn't mean to say it like that. I immediately felt my face heat up as a blush spread across my cheeks. That could really easily be misinterpreted.

"Wow now you've really done it, I have no idea how he hasn't gotten sick of your self righteous attitude already." Alex attacked Aaron again and he frowned.

"Alex that is enough, you've already crossed the line." Aaron stared down at him calmly.

"Ugh you and your strict morals, get over yourself, you're really not as all holy as you think you are."

"Alex stop it." I growled.

"This is getting really awkward..." Hunter commented.

"Just because your mother was some self sacrificing idiot doesn't mean you're automatically hollier than thou or something." He continued to stab at Aaron for no reason and I found myself lunging for him and socking him right in the jaw.

"Riley??!"

Alex defended himself with a quick elbow jab into my chest before we were suddenly rolling around on the ground like fucking idiots.

"Get the fuck off of me!" Alex complained as I pressed his head against the ground, before kneeing me in the stomach.

"Control yourselves both of you!" Aaron's voice brought me out of my rage and I winced as he grabbed my arm and yanked me away from Alex.

He held Alex by his shirt and kept us separated on each arm. He glared between us and I looked down at the floor guiltily.

"You're making this ten times more difficult than it needs to be. Alex you know you shouldn't drink, and I'm not letting that be an excuse either, we're having a serious discussion about this in the morning. Now, let's get back to the house without attacking anyone, okay?" He said, before letting Alex go.

"You didn't even say anything to Riley, you're such a biased prick!"

"I'm not done yet." He growled. "Get back to the house. Now."  He ordered, gripping onto my arm tightly making me wince. Alex scowled before swivelling round and heading down the road, looking a tiny bit off balance.

"I'll make sure he makes it." Caleb said awkwardly before turning around and the others followed after him.

Aaron sighed before turning to me, making a jolt of nerves fly up my spine.

"What was that?" He questioned and I looked at the pavement.

"I don't think I really want to talk about it." I said awkwardly.

"Look, Riley, I'm not angry at you. I wanted to punch him too. But you have to have more control than that. I mean, what if that was your kid. You can't teach him that violence is the answer."

"My kid? I'm a bit too young to think about how to treat my hypothetical teenage kid. And so are you, Aaron. They're not your children. You don't need to burden yourself with raising them, at least not anymore. They're eighteen. You've done enough. And if they piss you off you can fucking tell them that, defend yourself." I frowned and he smiled at me.

"Thank you, Riley. It's nice to have someone that I didn't have to raise to talk to." He said as he let go of my arm and stroked the side of my face making me blush.

"You treat me like you did sometimes." I commented and he chuckled as he rested his forehead against mine.

"Trust me, I don't. I treat you much differently." He sighed and I looked up at him to see he had his eyes closed.

"Come on you two." Nate's voice made me pull away, and I looked to see he had stopped and waited a few metres in front of us with his arms crossed.

He didn't look very impressed, and I smiled awkwardly.

"Right, coming."
