Hayes's POV
I don't know why she hates me so much...
She was really beautiful when she was waiting for her locker.
The words that come out of my mouth are always so mean, and sometimes I come out rude, but I really don't mean it- even though I have a reputation to maintain.
Math class was over, and I was going to skip Spanish and smoke with some of my brother's friends.
My brother is Nash, and his best friend Cameron-who was going to buy us the cigarettes.
I walked outside my school and into the alley next to it, where we usually meet.
Everyone was there; Matt, Shawn, Carter, Nash, Cam, and Taylor.
They were all already smoking.
"Hey, it's Hayes!" Matt noticed, his voice already raspy as he took a drag.
I never actually smoked before.
"Here have one." Taylor handed me a cigaret.
"No, I'm good..." I said, feeling sick to my stomach.
"What a pussy." Nash laughed.
They were talking then all eyes were on me.
"So Hayes, we saw you taking to that Juliet chick." Carter said.
"Yeah, we-"
"Dude, she's hot." Matt interrupted.
"Matt.." I glared at him.
"What? It's true." He laughed.
"As I was trying to say, we were only talking, it's not like we were making out or anything." I said.
"Her friend Lesley, she's hot too." Matt laughed at himself.
"Thirsty." I coughed.
"What?!" Matt glared at me.
"Nothing, only kidding." I laughed.
"Matt, if you like her so much, why don't you ask her on a date?" Shawn said.
"Sure, why not." Matt shrugged.
"Shawn, why don't you ask out her other friend, Michelle?" I suggested.
"I don't care, she seems nice." He smiled.
"Great it's settled. Matt and Lesley, Shawn and Michelle, and me and Juliet." I said.
"Hayes, bro. You never said you'd take out Juliet." Cam noticed.
Everyone laughed.

Juliet's POV
It was finally lunch time, everyone had a different lunch time, but it was all mixed together.
Our high school was from 7th to 12th grade, so if you went to lunch at 5th period, you'd be with all the other 7-12 graders who have lunch at the time.
I guess it makes sense.
Some of us had lunch inside in the cafe, others had it outside in the park.
I met up with Lesley and Michelle.
"You guys, math sucks." I announced as I sat on the picnic bench and put down my lunch.
"How come?" Michelle asked.
"Hayes is in my class." I rolled my eyes.
That's when someone tapped my shoulder. A guy with brown shaggy hair and his brown but a little bit of green eyes faced me.
"C-can I sit here?" He asked.
"Sure." I smiled as I patted a seat next to me.
"I'm Aaron." He smiled back.
"I'm Juliet, this is Lesley and Michelle."
"It's nice to meet you. I'm new here but I'm a sophomore." He said.
"We're only 7th graders, but hey, you can hang out with-"
"HEY JUL." Someone hollered from behind me.
I turned to see Hayes and a couple of his friends, Matt and Shawn.
I looked at Michelle and Lesley, they were both blushing.
"I'm just here to introduce my two friends..."
"Go away." I said, some-what serious.
"Ladies, this is Matt and Shawn." Hayes said, ignoring me.
"Hi.." Lesley said nervously.
"Hey." Michelle smiled and waved.
They all sat down around us.
"So who's the kid?" Shawn pointed at Aaron.
"I'm Aaron." He said.
"Well Aaron, why don't you hang out with us instead of these girls..?" Matt offered.
"I don't know.." He said.
"Come on, we can skip the rest of school..." Shawn trailed off.
"No, no way. I'd rather stay with Juliet and her friends." Aaron said.
We all smiled.
"Whatever bro, talk to us when you stop acting like a pussy." Matt said as they all got up and were getting ready to leave.
Hayes already left and went inside the school.
"Hey Michelle, can I talk to you over there?" Shawn asked.
She nodded and left with him, they were by a tree.
"Aaron, I'm sorry about them. I'm not with them...well...it's complicated." I apologized.
"No problem, I need to leave anyways. I didn't mind them but maybe we can hang out sometime?" He asked.
"Yeah, let's hang out tonight, my house-" I thought about that for a second. "Actually, let's go to the mall." I continued.
"That'd be great. See you tonight." He smiled then left.
Matt was with Lesley, whispering something in her ear.
She turned red, and nodded at him.
He smiled and left, waiting for Shawn at the entrance of the school.
I turned around and I saw Shawn kiss Michelle on the cheek.
Lesley and I looked at each other and squealed.
She came over to our table again.
"What. Was. That?" Lesley and I said at the same time.
"He asked me out on a date! Tonight!" Michelle was so excited.
"Matt asked me out on a date, tonight too!" Lesley squealed.
"No way! I'm so happy for you guys!" I smiled.
"What about you Jul?"
"Yeah, did Hayes ask you out?" They pushed.
"What! No! Actually, Aaron asked me to hang out with him tonight. So I guess we're all good.." I said.
"Wow, that's great!" Michelle asked.
"Yeah, you can totally tell that Aaron has a thing for you." Lesley said.
"Seriously?" I asked.
"You're stupid." Lesley laughed.
"Why?"
"Because you can totally see it in his eyes."
"He's 2 years older than me!"
"Age is but a number..."
"JAIL IS BUT A ROOM."
The bell rang and we had to go to English.
When we walked in, Hayes was in there, staring at me.
"I thought you were going to ditch." I said to Hayes as I sat in the seat next to him.
"And I thought you hated me." He said.
"I hate you a little less now." I laughed.
"I don't like that Aaron kid." He told me.
"I can tell."
"Then why are you going on a date with him?"
"It's not a date, and why do you care?" I asked.
"He's too....I don't know...he just shows up and swept you off your feet..." Hayes said.
"Maybe you should take notes from him." I laughed.
He glared at me then back at the door.
Does he really hate me that much?
