Tris pov: 10 years old
Me and Tobias have been training for 4 years now, but for the past month he has been very distant from me. I don't understand. Did I do something wrong? Is he embarrassed to be see with me? When we go to alley 46 he barely says anything. Something is going on and I'm going to figure it out.
I meet Tobias after school and we start walking towards alley 46 without saying a word. I can't stand it any longer. "Tobias?" I ask. He just keeps walking. " Tobias what's wrong?" I ask getting impatient. Still no answer. That's it.
I stand in front of him so he can't walk and say " Tobias please tell me what's wrong! I can't help you until you say something." I put a hand on his shoulder, we aren't afraid to touch each other, it is a friendly thing we do, but when he pulls back from my gesture the tears spill. " Tobias, I don't know what I did wrong! Please tell me. I'll do anything, punch me, kick me, I don't care. Please." I beg. He just looks down.
Suddenly me sadness is replaced by anger. Why won't he tell me?!
I run as fast away from him as I can. I know exactly where I am going.
Alley 46.
I run in and go strait over to the punching bags. I rip off my abnegation clothes revealing my dauntless black clothes hidden underneath. I start punching the bag as hard as I can releasing my anger. I am starting to get some muscle, but Toby still has more than me. The bag sways back and forth with every punch. I hear the door open and close. I glance back to see Toby walking in whilst ripping off his Abnegation robes. He walks strait over to me .
He stands behind me and Says "Bea I'm sorry, I didn't know that you were blaming yourself for all of this.... Why are you even friends with me? I'm worthless!" He turns around and slams his fist in a small round table behind him. That's when I see that his black shirt is soaked in something dark and wet. I walk up behind him and pull up his shirt. I gasp.
His back and shoulders are covered in what looks like lash marks and blood. That must be why he moved his shoulder when I touched it.
" Tobias Eaton take your shirt off right now!" I order. He does what he is told and takes it off. I can't help but stare at his six pack forming on his chest. I quickly look away and run to where we
Keep the first said kit. I walk over to Toby and address his wounds. As I am wrapping gauze around his stomach he says " Marcus does this to me." That's all I need to know to understand why Toby hasn't been very talkative.
" Beatrice I'm sorry, it's just that I can't let him hurt you okay?" I give him friendly kiss on the cheek like we always do and say
"Okay"
