Reader: Blind.
Summary: Being blind is hard; especially when you're a hero. Robin has always been jealous of all the attention (Y/N) gets from Batman and not knowing why, using every second to make fun of her.

"Team, I'd like you to meet your new teammate. (S/H/N).", Batman announced, stepping to the side to show you, waving nervously.
"Hi.", you squeaked, not really sure where to 'look'.
"Hi!", a cheerful voice said, making your head turn to where the voice was coming from.
From what you heard, this voice was owned my a girl. A cheerful voice. She was probably the most positive out of her team. Just a hunch.
"I'm M'gann. Nice to meet you!", she said.
You felt a swish in front of you.
You guessed she wanted to shake your hand, so you did.
"Helllloooooo, Beautiful.", a flirty voice said, taking your hand.
You felt a burst of wind when he came towards you.
Superspeed. You guessed as he kissed your hand.
You pulled your hand away and chuckled nervously.
"Name's Wally, but you can call me Mr. Handsome.", he said.
You could imagine him wink when he said that.
"Enough! Give the girl some air!", a voice snapped.
"Ow!", Wally exclaimed.
Ah... the girl must've just hit him... or something.
"I'm Artemis. Ignore him.", she said.
I smiled, "Nice to meet you guys."
"The other members are out training, so we'll hang out with you for now and show you around!", M'gann piped up.
"One more thing, what's your real name?", Wally asked.
"(Y/N) (L/N).", you smiled.
"Hey guys! What's up-(Y/N)?!", an all too familiar voice exclaimed.
"Hey, Rob! Meet (Y/N)! Our new teammate!", Wally exclaimed proudly, grabbing your shoulders.
It was like you could hear him frown, "Hi, (Y/N).", he said, adding a cold tone.
"H-Hi, Robin.", you squeaked.
You could just feel the extreme tension as you 'looked' down.
And yes, you knew eachother.
Batman himself had introduced you to Robin.
You guessed it was because Batman knew you were blind, so he paid extra attention to you.
Robin, on the other hand, knew nothing about your eyes, and you guessed he was kind of jealous.
You gulped and played with your hands.
He let out an exasperated sigh and mumbled something like; Now I have to deal with her? Worst day ever.
You frowned as you looked blankly at the floor.
M'gann broke the silence, "Do you know eachother?"
You couldn't lie, so you nodded.
"Let's not ask anymore questions. They must have a bad relationship.", you hear Artemis whisper.
Hey, even though you were blind, that meant your other senses were stronger.
"Ah.. so, this is the Lounge...", Wally stated.
You raised your hand and touched the walls, remembering the feeling.
"Um, (Y/N)? What are you... doing?", Artemis asked, making you freeze.
"Uh, well, I just-I like touching the walls and stuff! I just like how smooth they are!", you lied and plastered a smile on your face.
Why not tell them you were blind? Easy, they'd treat you differently.
You didn't want to be pitied. You just wanted to be treated normally. Like a normal teen girl with all 5 senses.
"Oh! Well, everyone is different!", M'gann said, shrugging it off.
I mentally let out a sigh of relief as they continued the tour with no further questions.
You hurried along with them, touching everything you could.
And, wow, that couch felt comfy!

"Guys! My uncle said he just rented a whole roller-skating rink to ourselves! We HAVE to go! Come on!!", M'gann squealed.
Everyone let out cheers of excitement... except you.
Ohhhh, this was bad news...
You see, since you couldn't see... you couldn't skate.
At least, you were to afraid to try it.
"Uh, I-I want to go... but... I can't... I got this... thing...?", you lied, your sentence ending like a question.
You heard Robin scoff, "Please, a 'thing'?! That's barely a cuse."
"Excuse.", you corrected him.
Robin sighed, "No, it's cuse. Why should people add an 'ex' when-"
You cut him off, "You don't have to explain."
He lets out a huff and taps his foot, "Anyways, what is this 'thing'?"
"Well, uh, i-it's just-a...", you stammered, trying to think of an excuse.
"...Or are you just afraid of rollerskating?", he continued.
You could almost hear the smirk in his voice.
"Robin! That's not very nice!", M'gann said.
"It's ok, (Y/N). You don't have to go if you don't want to.", M'gann reassured you.
You nodded clumsily and started to walk away...
...when you accidentally tripped over, guess.
Nope, not a foot.
The couch.
You landed on the floor, mixed with pain and embarrassment.
You heard Robin snicker as your face felt hot.
"Are you ok, (Y/N)?", Zatanna asked worriedly.
Tears welled up in your eyes as Wally and Kaldur hurriedly helped you up.
"She's obviously not. Look at her face! What are you, blind?!", Robin cackled.
That last part made you crack.
You had enough.
"Yes.", you boldly said.
"Not the reaction I was pecting.", Robin said.
"Wait... what?!", he added in disbelief.
"I'm blind. That's the 'thing'! Do you think I want people to know I'm blind?!", you exclaimed.
"Wait, you hid this from us for two whole months, and we couldn't even tell??!", Wally butted in.
You heard a slap and a painful 'ow'.
"Shut it! Just let her speak!!", Artemis hissed.
You sucked in your stomach and continued to rant, "You've done NOTHING but hate on me for NO reason, and you don't even know WHY I'm like this! You've never asked and you just hate me because I get more attention?! If I was normal, Batman would've never even GLANCED at me! So be grateful that you're the SON of THE FREAKING Batman! So, thanks SO much, you DICK!!"
He gawked at you, his mouth wide open as you stormed off.
"I-I...", Robin trailed off, not knowing what to say.
"Not cool, dude, not cool.", Wally shook his head, clicking his tongue.
'I-I'll go find her.", M'gann volunteered, flying out of the room.
Robin was still utterly speechless.
He didn't know you were blind.
Some detective he was, huh.
Now that he thought about it... every time he frowned at you, you never responded. Every time he glared at you, you never noticed. Every time he secretly laughed at your 'clumsiness', you never saw.
Because you couldn't see.
Robin felt as if his stomach was churning.
He felt horrible.
Utterly, terribly, completely horrible.

You wiped away salty tears as you sat on the cold floor, your back leaning against a wall.
You let out a shaky breath when suddenly you heard footsteps nearing you.
Your eyes widened as you started to back away slowly, not making a sound.
Suddenly, a hand took yours, startling you.
You shivered as the person helped you up.
"Who are you?", you asked as the person started dragging you to who knows where.
The person didn't answer.
The person's hand was soft... it felt like... a male's.
So the person was definitely a guy's.
Wally? Kaldur? ...Robin...? Pffft, yeah, right.
As the guy lead you to who knows where, you heard silent gasps.
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, wanting to know what was happening.
All of a sudden, you heard a 'shhh'.
The guy who was leading you.
This made you even more curious.
Why would he tell everyone to be quiet?
Suddenly, you felt your body being swept away.
You felt yourself land again and relaxed.
You must've transported somewhere... but where?!
You heard soft footsteps behind you and guessed it was the rest of the team.
"W-What's going on?!", you exclaimed when you plopped down onto what felt like a bench.
The man didn't answer and instead took off your shoes.
"Wha-hey!", you said when you heard your shoes tumble onto the ground.
The man slipped on a pair of shoes on your feet and helped you up again.
You stood up but almost fell down when you realized these weren't shoes...
...they were roller skates.
You let out a gasp as the man started to skate... and you were holding his hand.
As the roller skates' wheels rolled, you felt very uneasy and worried.
You let out a squeak when you almost tripped, but the man had a firm grip on your hand.
"P-Please, I can't do this.", you squeaked nervously.
"Don't worry, you won't fall. I've got you.", a soft voice rang through your ears.
Your eyes widened as you tensed up.
"Why should I trust you? I bet you're just gonna let go.", you frowned.
"I-I won't. I promise.", he reassured you, but you kept your frown.
You sighed, your feet wobbled as you skidded to a stop.
"I want to apologize.", he said, taking both of your hands.
You raised an eyebrow, "You're joking."
"No... listen, (Y/N), I haven't been very fair to you...", he sighed, "And, you're right. I've hated on you for no reason. I was selfish. I was jealous... I wanted that attention. I wanted to be noticed by Batman... for him to be proud of me... but when he focused on you, I... I was really, really jealous. I never took my time to ask why Batman acted so tective around you. And, I'm sorry for that. Will you forgive me?", he said hopefully, seeming to hold his breath.
Your expression softened as you stared blankly ahead.
You face broke into a smile as you gently squeezed his hands, "Of course."
You heard him heave a sigh of relief and giggled softly.
"Now, let's have some fun, Bird-Boy.", you smiled and he gladly agreed.
