I should add that I did tell my mom. Not the whole story - that will take days - but I sent her an email with the synopsis. I was afraid that I might chicken out otherwise, and try to pretend to them - and myself - that none of this happened. So I'll have to give her the full account when I get back. I'm not looking forward to that, but I think it's necessary. Pastora Elena was really helpful with this, gentle and stern at the same time, not giving me an out. She actually sat there and just waited until I pressed send. So, now they know. You are not the only keeper of my tragic tale anymore. I just thought I should tell you that.
I owe you. So much. Once I am back to - well, maybe a point I've never really been at before - I will try to make it up to you somehow. At least be a better friend to you than I ever have been. And of course, if you even need someone to talk to, you've earned about 100 hours (or pages).
