Randell's POV
"How's Dad?" I asked Marko, as soon as he went out of the room
"Just go in and see for yourself. You're lucky that dad wants to see you" he glared at me and left
This is it, there's no turning back (I thought to myself)
As soon as I entered, I saw dad looking at my direction
I decided to sit beside him. "How are you dad?" I asked
"I'm okay now" he said softly
"Dad, i'm so sorry for everything i've done. I-" dad suddenly interrupted me
"I should be the one to say sorry to you. I was a not a good father to you. I've been cold to you. I did not even let you do the things that you wanted to do. I never asked you what it is that you want. I dictated your life and i'm very sorry. I've been a selfish father" he held my hands and I can see that he is in pain right now
"I was miserable when you left. I find it hard to sleep at night, and that I barely eat my food. I was always thinking of you"
"Please forgive me Randell. I love you so much my son and i'm very proud of you. I am the failure not you" he added
"Dad, don't blame yourself. I understand what you feel. Let's just forget the past and start anew" I said
"Despite everything i've done, you still forgave me. How I wish you and your brother will be okay too" dad started to cry
"Don't worry dad, I know that the time will come that me and Marko will be in good terms" I wiped away his tears
I feel so happy right now. How I miss my dad so much. It's been a long time since the last time I saw him. I'm glad that were given a chance to be reunited once more.
"Take this" dad got a small paper from his pocket and he handed it to me
Out of curiousity, I got the paper from dad
What's written in the paper is just an address
Dad, whose address is this?" I asked
Dad let out a heavy sigh. "It's where your mom lives"
I was flabbergasted of what dad said. All this time he knew where mom lives?
"Remember the day when I stopped you to go to Chicago? And that you left?" Dad suddenly asked
I just nodded my head in response. I don't know if I can still handle all the things that dad is about to say
"The reason why I stopped you to go to Chicago is because your mom lives there. I'm afraid that if you saw her there, you'll never go back to me anymore" dad looked at the other direction
"And you know what hurts me so much?" He asked
I just let dad continue what he is about to say
"Is that I still love your mom until now. I was just carried away with my anger and disappointment, that is why I sent her out of our lives" dad cried even more as he was covering his face with his arms
How I pity my dad right now. He still loves mom and that I can see in his eyes that he regrets everything he have done
I miss my mom too, so much. Now that I have her address, I can easily go there and see her for myself. I hope that she's okay each and everyday. I'll try my best to help dad, to reunite our family once more.
"You're not alone dad. I'll help you with this" I patted his back
"You have no idea how lucky I am. I'm thankful to God because he gave me a son like you" he hugged me
"And i'm lucky to have a dad like you" I hugged him back
