Klaus

Her angry expression twisted into confusion as she stared at me in disgust. Even with a displeased scowl on her face I couldn't help but find her to be beautiful. And I also really needed a break, already feeling defeated by letting her crazy ex demonic boyfriend escape. I'll admit, I wasn't prepared to face someone of that strength. I was well aware that he had beat my brother in a fight, but I also wasn't expecting him to have to fight someone with force as great as mine.

"You what?" Those little words that escaped her mouth caused me to chuckle. The pure irritation on her face was quite amusing.

"You heard me, Jade." I murmured, taking a step towards her. She shifted uncomfortably on her feet, her arm rising as she pointed a finger at me.

"You're an idiot," She paused, hesitant as she watched me stop mere inches in front of her. "To think that I would go anywhere with you now. Jason just escaped, and you want to take me out. Knowing him, he's going to kill everyone until he fi-

She suddenly doubled over in pain, throwing me completely off guard. A rush of possessiveness overcame me as I rushed forward, catching her falling form.

"Are you having an episode?" I asked her, frowning at the thought of her heart condition coming back after not occurring for nearly a week. I pulled her back up on her feet and wiped a strand of hair from her face a she blinked up at me. There was a certain haziness in her eyes as she watched me, but her attention was on anything but me.

"No. It's Jason. He knows he can't kill me, so he's trying to torture me." She said, gripping my arms harder in an attempt to stabilize herself. Jade blinked hard until I saw the cloud dissolve from her eyes, her swirling grey irises darkening.

"See. You could use a break." I released her when she had regained her balance.

"Shut up." She sighed as she lifted her head back up, the intensity in her eyes replaced by frustration. She turned on her heel and took a single step forward, but I moved and blocked her way.

"Look. I can't just go in fangs bared and stop your boyfriend." I growled.

"Then formulate a plan before he kills everyone." She snapped, not intimidated by my sudden change of tone.

I narrowed my eyes at her. I didn't want to admit defeat to that demon spawn, and I further did not want to face him again so soon. If he wasn't so keen on escaping, I had a feeling he would have beat me to a near pulp.

"I don't imagine Jason to be so foolish as to attack the entire town just for you. New Orleans is swarmed with an army of vampires and a handful of witches. He would not get far if he were to start murdering people just to find your petty self."

Her small body tensed, an outraged scowl plastered on her pretty face. She stood there for a moment, glaring up at me as if trying to intimidate me to stand down.

And then she sighed in defeat, her perfect posture slouching. But there was still that determined glint in her eyes that challenged mine.

I smiled down at her. "I won't ask again. Go out with me."

"That wasn't a question."

"You are so right." I said with a smirk.

She rolled her eyes in annoyance before giving in to my demand.

"Fine."

Jade

The arrogant smirk on his face only widened.

"I'm gonna change."

I was fairly surprised that he let me slide by him that easily. I rushed up the stairs and into my room, making sure to lock my door. I groaned when I realized I hadn't taken my clothes out of the boxes yet as I tore off my shirt and made my way to my bathroom to rinse off real quick.

Fifteen minutes later I was in a maroon shirt and jean shorts, my wet hair tied up in a messy bun. Just as I was slipping on my black boots, there was a loud pounding on the door.

"One second!" I shouted, zipping up my last boot as I made my way to the door.

I flung it open, meeting Klaus' amused expression.

"Mmm. You smell nice." He said. I rolled my eyes and walked by him as I felt his eyes follow my body.

-

We arrived at the bar minutes later, the foul smell of beer and smoke escaping the open doors as a man walked out. I wasn't that big of a drinker, in fact, the taste of alcohol disgusted me.

The sound of the passenger door opening made me jump.

"You alright, Jade?" Klaus spoke from beside me. I ignored him and took the hand that he had offered to me, stepping out of the car.

"If I had known you'd be taking me to a bar, I wouldn't have agreed to this."

"Not much of a drinker, eh?" I could feel his smirk as we walked to the entrance, his hand on the small of my back the entire time.

"No."

He opened the glass door of the bar for me, the smell of cologne and beer in the air causing me to nearly choke.

"One drink. That's it. And then were leaving." i turned to Klaus and said. Surprisingly, he complied with my request.

He led me over to the bar. On my right was an overweight, hairy drunk that had seemed to have zero respect for personal space for he couldn't help but scoot closer to me. I tensed up when I felt the creep's hand touch my back before they lowered to grope my ass.

"Switch me spots." I leaned over to the vampire, looking up into his amused expression.

"Is he bothering you, love?"

"He touched my ass."

"Excuse me, sir." I buried my head in my hand when Klaus stood up on his feet and stood before the fat creep.

"Eh?" The drunk seemed confused.

I pulled on Klaus' arm. "What are you doing?"

But he only winked at me, before he threw his fist at the overweight man, sending him falling back into the person on his other side.

"KLAUS!" I was suddenly at my feet, pulling him back.

"We're leaving. Now." I snapped, yanking him to the doors.

-

"What is your problem now?" I heard him call after me, but I ignored him, walking past his truck and from the parking lot. He appeared in front of me, his glare heavy and unmoving.

"My problem? Are you kidding me right now?! You just caused a fucking scene!"

"He sexually harassed you! How else would you expect me to react?!"

I sighed, brushing my fingers through my hair.

"I need to take a walk." I said as I walked around him and into the trees.

"And don't even think of following me. In fact, why don't you do me a favor and leave me alone."

I turned away before he could retort back.

It ended up being a more pleasant walk than I had expected it to be. Within the first two minutes I had already regretted snapping at Klaus the way I did. The perv deserved it. Klaus was just doing what I didn't have the guts to do. In all honesty, I wanted zero confrontation, which is why I asked Klaus to switch me places.

I felt like an idiot now for telling him to leave me alone when at my most vulnerable point. I haven't even known him for long and now he's just aggravating. But he is the only one that has a chance against Jason's wrath.

I continued down through the familiar, winding trees, assuming that my new house was up ahead just a few more paces.

"Well, well."

I froze up at his guttural tone.

I turned around slowly, meeting his menacing green eyes. He licked his lips as he took me in, his gaze burning through my skin.

"You are looking like a bronze goddess." Jason sneered.

"Look. I'll go with you. Willingly. Just leave my friends alone." I stated, holding my quivering hand in front of me.

"Friends? You mean the vampires that failed to save you from me?"

"They're the Originals. They can't be killed that easily, not even by you."

He chuckled, taking a huge step towards me.

"I've decided, Jade, that I like this... home of yours. I think I'll stay for a while."

"It was your home too, Jason."

He smirked. "Aw. You want your poor Jason?"

"I know you're still in there. Don't let this demon take your soul, Jason. You're stronger than-"

I choked back a cry when he was suddenly in front of me, his hand coiled around my throat.

"Jason's gone. I devoured his soul. And now you'll be joining him soon. But first.."

Panicking, I grabbed his forearm and squeezed it hard. He let out a distressed hiss, releasing his hand from my throat.

He held his hand up before his eyes as I coughed for air, his skin burnt and sizzling from when I had made contact with him.

I frowned, confused at what just happened.

"What the hell is-"

The next thing I saw was Klaus kicking Jason through the trees with vigorous force. The sound of trees cracking at the brute force of Klaus' kick with the impact of Jason flying through the trees reverberated through the forest.

"I thought I smelled something rotten coming from over here."

"Klaus!" I never thought I'd be happy to see him.

"You, dear Jade, are an idiot." He growled at me. The anger in his eyes only intimidated me a little, since I was more relieved that he was here.

"I'm sorry I snapped at you." I apologized, pushing myself up to my feet. His eyes moved down to my hand that was massaging my throat.

And then he was in front of me, pulling my hand gently away from my throat as he examined it.

But his expression only darkened.

"That bastard bruised you."

"I'm okay. It's not as bad as what I did to him."

A frown formed on his already enraged expression.

"What you did to hi-"

It all happened within seconds, and it was all a blur.

Jason tried to tear me away from Klaus, but Klaus was faster, grabbing his neck and slamming him into the ground. But that gave Jason the opening to grab my ankle, kick Klaus off of him, and spin us around so I was now in Jason's arms.

He took my left arm and twisted it back slowly. My scream echoed off the trees, only growing louder as he took his sweet time breaking it, all the while keeping Klaus pinned down on the ground with his foot.

"You two are growing more annoying by the second."

"Please... please stop." I sobbed.

"Let her go you demon!!" Klaus roared from underneath us.

"Oh yeah? Or what?"

A painful crack filled the area around us.

A deep and throaty growl sounded from Klaus, who was now resisting against Jason.

Noticing the sudden dark change in the atmosphere, Jason threw me to the side, his attention now focused completely on the hybrid.

Third Person

"What's this, vampire? Are you so desperate to win that you're now changing into a.. wolf?! Pathetic!" Jason taunted a shifting Klaus.

Rebekah emerged from the shadows while Klaus had Jason's complete attention, taking an injured and nearly unconscious Jade from the scene.

Jason's head snapped to where they both disappeared to, only to see a vampire elegantly dressed in all black.

Elijah moved his gaze to his brother, eyes narrowing in concern at the sight of his brother.

He knew he had to stop this now.

"Well well well. Are you back for more?" Jason grinned, his arms wide open as if welcoming Elijah to attack.

"Give me my brother." He requested.

"I'm sorry. No can do."

Dozens of vampires suddenly emerged from the trees, Marcel included as he approached Klaus and injected a serum filled needle into his throat, halting the shift. Jason's confident demeanor disappeared when he realized he was surrounded by highly skilled vampires.

Elijah smiled.
