My Abusive Brother

The First Day Back (Part 2)

I wake up with a bright light in my face and realize I'm in a hospital bed. Not again, I think to myself. One of the doctors comes over to me and tells the other, "she's coming to, should I call her brother?" With little strength I slightly sit up, and whisper, "p-please d-don't". The doctors rush over to me like the miracle of life has just happened. The taller of the two asks, "Why?", I quickly reply back, "he will hurt me even more"... I started to drift away again, but I looked at the I.V poking into my wrist and I shock myself back into reality. I sit up more, my ears ringing more then ever and pull down my shirt a bit in the back, showing lines and blotches of red. "He sexually abused me..." The female nurse attending to the beeping machine looks at me with sorrowful eyes, she looks like she is about to cry. "Sweetie-", before he can finish I quickly cut him off, "don't call me sweetie". "Ok, Luce, where do you live" the doctor asks politely. "83 BirchHill Lane," I didn't know why they wanted my address but after the two male doctors ran out of the room frantically almost dropping the phone as they dialed 911.
