Gary finished his first Alolian breakfast and followed Hau out of the room into the long white hallway.
Gary: So where exactly are we?
Hau: We're in the central Pokemon centre.
Gary: Central Pokemon centre? Does that mean there are more than one on this island?
Hau: Bingo! On Melemele island there are five Pokemon centres spread out island.
Gary: That's a lot of Pokemon centres for such a little island...
Hau: Little island! Are you kidding me Gary!
Gary: What?.. The island is tiny right?
Hau sighed at Gary's response, but he could understand why the Kantonian was underestimating Alola.
Hau: Once you get an aerial view of Alola, then you can judge how big the islands are.
Gary: Well it's a good thing I have Pidgeot!
Gary went to grab Pidgeot's Poke ball from his belt, but then remembered that his Poke balls were no longer attached to his belt.
Gary: Oh! How could I forget?!
Hau: Forget what?
Hau stopped walking as he watched Gary hit himself on the head with the palms of his hands.
Gary: I'm so stupid! Hau!
Gary dashed over to Hau and placed his hands on Hau's shoulders.
Hau: Erm... Gary? What's wrong?
Gary: My Pokemon! Where are they?!
Hau: Erm.... You see... I don't actually have them.
Gary: What?! Then where are they Hau?! Where are my Pokemon?!
As Gary confronted Hau about his missing Pokemon, Lillie walked round the corner with a rather tall man who was wearing a white lab coat and dark shades, he wore a white hat with grey shorts and his sandals where pure green.
Lillie and the man saw Gary picking Hau up by the collar of his shirt, but Lillie immediately interfered when she looked at Hau's petrified face.
Lillie: Gary! Put Hau down!...
Gary: Huh?!
The two boys instantly turned their heads towards the direction of where the soft voice came from.
Lillie: I said put Hau down Gary!
Gary: Fine! But I want my Pokemon back then I'll be leaving!
Hau: You're leaving?...
Gary loosened his grip on Hau's shirt letting the green hair boy fall to the ground hitting his bottom.
Gary: I reason why I came to Alola was for some personal reasons! Not for messing around!
Lillie gasphed in shock, the boy she had just met had turned from a sweet and loveable boy to an angry and frustrated young man.
Lillie: Then what are you doing here then?! You clearly have more important stuff to do then talk to us!
Gary: Huh?....I'll leave once I have my Pokemon back! Now!
The man in the lab coat walked over to Gary and placed his right hand onto Gary's shoulder then look down at the Kantonian.
???: Gary?
Gary: What do you want?..
Gary sighed in frustration, all he wanted to do was get his Pokemon back and then find Shaian to make things right with her.
???: My name is Kukui, professor Kukui.
Gary: You're the professor of Alola?.... I sure have made a mess of things..
Kukui: Gary it's fine, you had just woken up from a long sleep, you're tired, frustrated and confused because you don't have your Pokemon, but here you go... Here are your Pokemon.
Professor Kukui reached into his deep lab coat pocket and brought out five Poke balls. He then handed them over to Gary who didn't take anytime to retrieve his Pokemon.
Gary: T-thank you I guess.... But why did you take my Pokemon?
Hau stood back up after sitting on the floor for awhile thanks to Gary, but he then brushed the dirt and dust of his clothes with his hands and walked over to Lillie who was waiting impatiently for Gary and Kukui to stop talking so she could take Gary somewhere.
Lillie: How are you feeling Hau? Are you hurt?
Hau: No I'm fine!
Lillie: Well I don't think Gary is... He seems to annoyed about something.
Hau: Don't give up on Gary....
Lillie: Huh? What did you say Hau?
Hau: Never give up till the very end! That means never give up on Gary until you know the beginning and ending of his story!
Lillie: Hau... Those are some wise words... What did you learn in Kalos?... Did you hit your head when you studied at the school in Kalos or what?
Hau: No! I did not hit my head!....
Lillie: Then what happened to you during your month stay in Kalos?
Hau: I learned from someone!
Lillie: You learned from someone? Who?
Hau then thought back to all the moments he had with Ash and all his friends, the green haired boy then smiled and looked into Lillie's green eyes.
Hau: His name is Ash and believe it or not he is actually my cousin!
Lillie: Ash?... You have a cousin called Ash?
Gary: He sure does! And that cousin of yours Hau sure is gutsy!
Gary had finished his conversation with professor Kukui a few moments ago, but he heard Lillie and Hau mention Ash which got the Kantonian intrigued about their conversation.
Lillie: Gutsy?...
Hau: Right! He's saved numerous injured Pokemon from Pokemon hunters!
Kukui: Did you say Pokemon hunters?
Hau: Yeah. Why ask professor?
Kukui: We never have Pokemon hunters here in Alola, but we do get a group of bandits who call themselves team Skull...
Lillie: Team Skull are a bunch of pathetic adults who like to cause havoc...
Hau: What's the matter with you Lillie? You seemed to be wound up.
Lillie: Well I though Gary here was suppose to meet up with his lovely girlfriend Shauna? You did come to Alola to see her right?
Gary was astonished by Lillie's claims, but he knew she was right, so there was denying it.
Gary: I guess you're right.... Right! Thank you professor Kukui for giving me my Pokemon back! I must be going now to find Shauna!
Kukui: My pleasure Gary! Please drop by my lab when you have the free time! I could teach you a thing or two about Alola!
Hau: Hey!.... I was going to do that...
Gary: Thanks professor, but I think I'll pass on taking the education train through Alola's history. I already get enough of Kalos history back in Sycamore High!
Kukui: Do what you wish, but please come by and say your farewells once you've done everything you wish to do in Alola!
Gary: Right will do! Hau, Lillie! I'll see you two round!
Hau: Right, see you soon Gary!
Gary had some form of smile on his face when Hau said bye, but when he looked over to Lillie waiting for a goodbye from her, he only got an upset face that was staring at the ground, but of course Gary thought nothing of it and ran off leaving the trio behind.
Hau watched Gary run off down the long hallway, but he noticed Lillie not looking like her usual self.
Kukui: Well I must be getting back to my lab, Hau! I want you in school in hour sharp!
Hau: Yes sir!
Kukui: You too Lillie, anyway! I'll see you kids later!
Hau waved Kukui goodbye as the professor slowly followed Gary's footsteps down the long hallway until he started to hear faint crying coming from the right of him. He looked over at Lillie, her head was still facing downwards and her arms at the side of her waists with no movement whatsoever.
Hau: Lillie?... Are you okay?
Lillie didn't reply, instead she carried on looking at the ground, but slowly Hau watched a small droplet of water form from Lillie's eye and roll down the side of her face. Now Hau felt very concerned for his best friend, so he kneeled down in front of her and looked up. Eye to eye contact Hau wanted to make sure his long time friend was fine and happy again.
Hau: Lillie? Do you want to tell me what's wrong?...
Lillie: You wouldn't understand...
Hau: I might not, but talking about your problems could help...
Lillie: It's not a problem! It's a can't have situation...
Hau: What do you mean ' a can't have situation'?
Lillie sighed and looked up ahead of her, all she could see was the long, white hallway that felt like it wouldn't end. Hau followed Lillie's actions and stood up too. He stood in front of the her and made sure they where eye to eye contact once again so Lillie wouldn't get distracted.
Hau: I can help! Just tell me and I'll help you in any way possib-
Lillie: You and him are way too dense to know anything about love!
Hau: Huh?...
Hau stood frozen on the spot, shocked, but still able to move, Hau wanted to speak, but not words came out , instead he stood helplessly in front of the teary girl.
Lillie: The moment I bumped into him yesterday... He was so kind and polite.... I thought he would be the one who would make me really happy, but it seems that I was beaten to the prize... But I can't stop Gary and Shauna sorting things out... I'd rather have them together than me destroy their only relationship...
Hau: Lillie... But you only met him yesterday?... So how could you feel confection like that for Gary so soon?...
Lillie instantly smiled at what Hau had just said, she appreciated how helpful and sweet Hau was trying to be, but he was only ten and she was sixteen, she knew Hau wouldn't know a lot about love.
Lillie: You have a lot to learn about love Hau.
Hau: I do not!
Lillie giggled at the ten year olds claim, but then she thought about Gary and her cheeks began to lightly blush which Hau noticed.
Hau: Erm... Lillie?... You're blushing.
Lillie once again smiled and looked over at Hau with her bright green eyes.
Lillie: Whatever Hau!... Let's just get ready for professor Kukui's lesson!
Hau: Fine...
Hau ran in front of Lillie and lead the way down the long hallway, but while walking Lillie couldn't stop blushing, but she knew she would have to get over Gary and Shauna soon.
Gary had made it out of the Pokemon centre and started to looked around for Shauna, but he had no idea where to start looking for her. He spun around hoping to see her walking by, but he had no hope as there were too many people out and about within the small village making it impossible for Gary to find Shauna.
Gary: This is going to take longer than I thought... I only have until Sunday to make things right with her and it's already Friday... I guess I can use Pidgeot to soar above the village.
Gary slowly pulled Pidgeot's Poke ball from his belt and went to toss it in the air only for his wrist to be grabbed by a rather small hand.
Shauna: That's not needed!
Gary: S-Shauna?!
Shauna: You seemed surprised! I saw you the other day when you first arrived in Alola, but you fainted..
Gary: Yeahh... That topic is off bounds to talk about...
Gary sighed and began to scratch the back of his head which made Shauna laugh, but it surprised her that she laughed at the boy she rejected almost four months ago.
Shauna: Do you want to come back to my place? We can catch up I g-guess?
Gary: Huh? Go back to your place?
Shauna: Okay, It's not my place, but it is my Aunties pla- Huh?
Gary: Arghhhhh! My head!
Before Shauna could explain herself, she found herself making sure Gary was okay after he screamed out in pain.
Shauna: Gary are you okay?... What happened?
Gary: My head hurts... Badly hurts. I get the worst headaches which makes the pain unbearable to withstand.
Shauna slowly placed the back of her hand against Gary's forehead and checked if he had a fever.
Gary: Your hand is very cold...
Shauna: You've got a fever Gary!
Gary: Please don't shout...
Shauna: Sorry... I'm sorry, but standing out here in the middle of the village won't help, the loud noises will make your headaches even worst and the Alola temperature can change at anytime which could mess with your fever.
Gary: How did I even get a fever...
Gary gently placed his left hand onto his forehead and let out a small cry of pain.
Gary: I need to lay down...
Shauna: Let's go back to my house on the beach. I can treat you back there.
Gary: That sounds fine, just as long as I'm out of the sun and away from these loud noises I don't care where we go..
Shauna: Fussy like always... Oh well, let's get you back to my house.
Shauna tightly grabbed onto Gary's hand and made sure they locked their hands strongly together. She began to pull Gary towards her house, but Gary didn't care that he was being drag by the girl he admired in many ways.
After a few minutes of Shauna pulling Gary, the two finally made it to the door of Shauna's house, but before Shauna could open the door, the door itself swung open revealing an averaged height lady with brown curly hair stood before Shauna.
???: Oh Shauna dear! You're home!
Shauna: Hey Auntie Gracia! We have a guest, but he's not feeling too well.
Gracia: Oh a guest! But he's a boy! Does that mean-
Shauna: No it doesn't mean anything Auntie Gracia! Just go get the spare bedroom ready!
Shauna managed to cover Gracia's mouth with her hands before she could embarrassing her in front of Gary. Once Gracia left the front door to prepare the spare room for Gary, Shauna let Gary in and the two of them sat down on the sofa in the living room just when Gracia walked in.
Gracia: Here you go dear, a glass of water to help you stay hydrated! You can become easily dehydrated when you're ill.
Gary: Oh, thank you Gracia.
Gracia smiled at Shauna and Gary as she handed the Kantonian boy the glass of water. As Gary began to drink the water, Gracia said something that sent a shockwave around Gary's body.
Gracia: So ever since Shauna moved here from Kalos, she has been going non-stop about a boy called Gary... Are you Gary?
Shauna: Auntie Gracia!...
Gracia: Oh! Pardon me... But Shauna did mention that the boy Gary was her boyfriend.
A second no sooner, Gary spat out a mouthful of water as soon as he heard Gracia refer him as Shauna's boyfriend, but it was even worse for Shauna as her cheeks began to turn bright red, so she pushed her hair over her face to hide from all the attention and embarrassment.
