Seth Rollins sat at his desk at work starring at his computer screen, trying and failing to concentrate on his job as a Real Estate Agent. His mind replaying the events of the last three days, all of it revolving around one person, his boyfriend of four years Dean Ambrose.
Seth and Dean have the kind of love, you only see in movies, they're so happy and in love! Despite their intense love and devotion to each other, Seth from the very beginning of their relationship secretly felt like he was in competition for Dean's heart! It wasn't just anyone Seth was in competition with either, no it was with Dean's ex-boyfriend Roman Reigns. Dean and Roman had been together eight years, they were so in love, until Dean was left heartbroken when Roman broke up with him and moved out of town. Roman was the first person in Dean's entire life he's ever loved romantically and that was something you never truly forgot or got over.
Seth knew Dean loved him and would never purposely hurt him, but their entire relationship Seth's felt like he was living in Roman's shadow! He knew all about their past and that Dean still and always would love Roman. Seth was jealous of Roman for having the kind of relationship and bond with Dean that Seth would never have! The only comfort Seth had was that Roman had been gone now for a few years, which meant he didn't have to worry about losing Dean to Roman.
At least that's what he thought, three days ago after going out to celebrate their four year anniversary, they were cuddling on the couch watching a movie. As they did Dean told him the news he had been scared to hear...Roman was moving back to town for work and Dean was so happy about it! Of course hearing that Seth freaked out and ended up fighting with Dean; who had no idea why Seth was so angry! It had been three days since Seth had seen or spoken to Dean, the day after their fight Seth stayed with his friend and co-worker Dolph Ziggler; ignoring Dean's calls and texts, pretending he wasn't there whenever Dean came to Seth's job or Dolph's house. It killed Seth, but having Dean rip his heart out when he went back with Roman would hurt more! His thoughts were interrupted by Dolph coming into his office and sat across from him.
"Dean was here again." Dolph said sadly.
"What did you tell him?" Seth asked, sighing sadly.
"That you were out with a client. Seth, I think it's time you went home. Dean's miserable without you dude and the worst part is he didn't do anything wrong." Dolph said gently.
"I know."
"So go Rollins and apologize, fix this!" Dolph encouraged smiling.
"You're right Dolph, thanks man!" Seth replied smiling too.
**Later**:
After work Seth went to Dolph's place and grabbed his things, before going back to the house he shared with Dean. When he arrived, Dean was outside getting his workout bag from his car. Seth got out and Dean saw him, smiling so happy to see him, he quickly went to Seth.
"Hi baby boy." Dean greeted him.
"Hi D."
"Seth, about what happened, whatever I did to hurt you I'm..."
"No Dean, baby you have nothing to apologize for. I'm the one who flipped out on you for no reason. I'm so sorry baby."
"It's okay, I'm just glad you're home...wait, you are home right?"
"Yeah Dean, I'm home!" Seth replied smiling, before Dean hugged him close.
After their hug, Dean pulled away enough so he could kiss Seth, both had missed each other so much. A few seconds later Dean grabbed Seth's stuff out of his car and hand in hand they went inside. Seth was so glad to be back home, until as they went into the house a voice he didn't know called to Dean from the kitchen. Seconds later the person the voice belonged to came into the hall and Seth froze, as he finally came face to face with Roman!
"Oh hey, you must be Seth Rollins right?" Roman asked smiling.
"Uh, yeah! That must make you Roman Reigns?" Seth replied, faking his smile.
"I' am, nice to meet you man! Dean's told me all about you, he won't shut up!" Roman teased smiling, all three laughed. "I took my bag's upstairs already D."
"Bag's?" Seth asked confused.
"Uh, yeah. Dean told me I could stay here for awhile." Roman answered. "Is that okay?"
"Of course, it's just Dean told me you were moving back, but he never said you'd be living with us!"
"I was going to stay at a hotel, but Dean told me I could use your spare room. Don't worry, it's only temporary I'm looking for my own place!" Roman explained smiling.
"I'm starving! Let's go out to celebrate Roman moving back and Seth coming back to my crazy ass! My treat boys!" Dean said smiling, not noticing Seth's unease.
"Hey is that Italian resturant we used to go to still open?"
"Yep, sound good to you baby boy?" Dean asked Seth.
"Yeah!" Seth answered smiling.
"Awesome! Let's change, we'll leave in 20 minutes." Dean said smiling, as he grabbed Seth's stuff and they went upstairs.
Later that night after an awkward and tense dinner; the entire night without being obvious Seth was clingy to Dean, they were finally home. Seth's fears and insecurities only got worse tonight after he watched and listened to the bond Dean and Roman still shared all these years later. Seth tried to hate Roman, but couldn't because he was a geninuely nice and funny guy and if the situation had been different Roman was the kind of guy Seth would have been friends with. When Seth thought things couldn't get worse, they did when Dean offered Roman a job at his gym after Roman told them he wanted to change jobs and Roman accepted.
Seth had just finished changing for bed, when Dean came back into the room after his shower. Seth smiled, as Dean went to him and took him into his arms, before he kissed him.
"I missed you so damn much baby boy!" Dean said, before he began kissing Seth's neck.
"Is that right Mr. Ambrose?" Seth teased smirking.
"Damn right!" Dean said between kisses.
"Prove it!"
"Don't need to tell me twice!" Dean said, before he picked Seth up and took him to bed.
**A Month Later**:
The days passed and Seth continued suffering in silence. It was now a month later and Roman was still living with them. Seth tried to act normal and remind himself that Dean loved and wanted him, not Roman! Of course Dean and Roman weren't making it easy! The two were always together, at home and work; it was like Roman was glued to Dean's side. At first Seth was able to deal with it, but as time went by and he stopped having any alone time with Dean, Seth couldn't ignore it anymore! Even though Seth knew Dean loved him, he couldn't stop himself from thinking that something was going on between them and it not only ripped his heart out, but it also made him angry! He knew that he could never compare to Roman and knew that if made to choose Dean would pick Roman over him every time!
Dean was oblivious to Seth's feelings, he was just so happy to have his two favorite people with him! He still loved Roman, he always would, but he wasn't in love with him anymore. It was Seth he was in love with and wanted to spend the rest of his life with. As much as Dean loved Roman when they were together, he had never loved him as much as he loved Seth!
Two weeks later, Dean pulled into their driveway with Roman; he loved having his best friend...brother not only live with him and Seth, but also work with him too! As they got out of the car, Seth pulled into the driveway, Dean smiled seeing him and met him at his car and opened his door for him.
"Hey baby boy!" Dean greeted him, as Seth got out.
"Hey handsome!" Seth said smiling, before he kissed him.
"Hey Seth, how was work?" Roman greeted him smiling.
"Hey Roman, it was good thanks." Seth answered, faking his smile.
"Did you sell that house today? The one you've been stressing about?" Dean asked, as they went inside.
"Yeah, my bosses were so impressed I did, they gave me a raise!" Seth answered proudly.
"I knew you could do it Seth!" Dean said smiling, so proud of him, before he kissed him. "I'm so damn proud of you!"
"Congrats Seth!" Roman added smiling.
"Thanks."
"This calls for a celebration! I'm taking you guys out for dinner, anywhere you want to go baby boy!" Dean said smiling.
"Sounds good, let's go change. After dinner drinks are on me!" Roman added smiling.
A half hour later Seth was showered, changed and was brushing his hair in the mirror, when he felt Dean wrap his arms around his waist from behind.
"I'm so proud of you Seth! I love you baby boy!"
"Thanks, I love you too Dean!" Seth replied, as he turned around in Dean's arms and kissed him.
"You ready to go?" Dean asked smiling.
"Yep!"
"Alright, let's go before Roman leaves without us!" Dean said kissing him, before he took Seth's hand and they went downstairs.
As they left the house and got into Dean's car, Seth knew he had to say something to Dean about how he felt. He just didn't know how to do it without hurting Dean. He had to do it tonight though, before he lost his courage! Until then he'd fake his way through the evening for Dean's sake.
