Phoebe POV
I lazily brushed my turquoise hair out from my face as I intently gazed down at the new captivating book I was reading. Sitting beneath a tree, I let the smell and sounds of the deep woods engulf me in a sort of melody. A cold gust of wind passed by me and I brought my legs up to my chest without my eyes leaving the book.
Hi, I'm Phoebe June, and this was the time I almost died.

If you were meeting me outside my current home, you would've thought that I was just a quiet girl with killer hair, who defiantly reads WAY to much. If you know me, you know that I'm crazy, a bookworm, and insane. Oh, ya, and I'm a daughter of the Greek god Iris. I don't wear a lot of makeup, I have blue eyes, pale skin, and, as you can probably already tell, have turquoise colored hair.
I was sitting by myself in the woods reading, something that I do a lot of the time, when I looked down at my watch. 6:43! The camp had a meeting at 6:45, right before dinner!
I quickly put a bookmark to make sure I didn't lose my page and then darted towards the entrance of the woods, towards Camp Half-Blood. Camp Half-Blood is where children of all the gods go, by the way.
I saw the rows of cabins coming nearer and the pile of kids making their way towards the dinner tables. Yes! I wasn't late!
"Phoe-UMPH!" I suddenly barreled into someone chest, knocking the pair of us down before jumping up and apologizing profusely. I looked down to see who I had knocked over and was met with messed up black hair and green eyes. Sea-green eyes.
"Oh, Percy, it's you. Never mind, I'm not sorry" I laughed as I grabbed his hand and pulled him up.
"You're mean," he whined, picking out pieces of twig from his hair. I reached up and helped him. "And here I was, making sure that you weren't going to be late to the. . ."
"MEETING!" We both yelled. When I had knocked him down we had taken so long that everyone was now already at the meeting!
We sprinted towards where the meeting was being held, just hoping we wouldn't be noticed. Unfortunately, Chiron was just about to talk when we got there. We giggled nervously.
"Out in the woods were we, Percy and Phoebe," he questioned
"I wasn't, she pushed me over." Percy bowed his head and quietly made his way to Poseidon table, where Tyson, Ella, and Annabeth were already sitting.
"Late again, Seaweed Brain?" Annabeth teased
"Shut up," he mumbled leaning to kiss her on the cheek. She threw her head back and laughed, before reaching for his hand and putting them on her lap. She turned diagonally to face Chiron and quieted to hear what he had to say.
"Alright now that we're all here," he looked pointedly at me and Percy, "let's begin."
He went on and on, about the war ending only a couple of months ago, so we should still be on guard, and then introduced anyone new, bla, bla, bla. Then came the interesting parts.
"A saytar of ours has recently been keeping track of a new demigod in New York. Normally, we would have had the saytar bring the new demigod back, but it seems that they are many different monsters prowling around the house and trying to find a way in. The saytar has barricaded the doors and told the demigod that she is a child of the gods, and has been trying to get her to learn some deferent defense moves, incase worse gets to worse."
"We want three people to go and get rid of the monsters, at least until it is safe enough to get the girl out of there and into Camp Half-Blood. Any volunteers?" he asked
I don't know why he always asks this. Every single hand shot in the air, except for those who were injured from training exercises and even they grumbled.
"Phoebe, you can go to make up for being late," Chiron called out to me
Yes! I thought
"And to make it fair, Percy, you can go as well." Whines flooded the room as campers lowered their hands. Everyone knew, if Percy went, Annabeth went, and vise versa.
"Alright, alright," Chiron chided. "Go get your dinner."

I woke up the next morning feeling ready and energized. I took a quick shower, threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, and flew out the door towards breakfast. As I walked past the beach, I saw two figures.
They were always here in the morning. Every once in a while they get another nightmare, and to calm themselves down, Percy makes and air bubble and lets them be at peace without any disturbances. Today they were out on the dock and sitting side by side, their feet dangling in the water. Percy rested his head on her shoulder and repeatedly kissed her hand. The whole camp knew not to disturb them when they were like this. They would be polite, sure, but they had an aura that made them seem like they didn't want to be disturbed.
Annabeth looked at Percy and smiled.
"I think it's time for breakfast, Seaweed Brain," she said
"Thats OK with me, I'm starving," he laughed
"You're always hungry," Annabeth teased as she kissed his head and stood up.
"What can I say, I'm a growing b-!" Percy screamed as he was pushed into the water by Annabeth.
"THAT'S IT, YOU'RE GOING TO GET IT!" Percy yelled. Now it was Annabeth's time to yell.
Percy pulled himself on land and made a huge wave roll over and collapse on top of Annabeth. Being the sweet boyfriend he is, he made sure that she didn't get wet, but she was still shocked.
"I hate you." She threatened
"Awe, love you too," Percy bopped her nose. He scooped her up bridal style and ran towards breakfast. I followed after.
When breakfast was done, Percy, Annabeth, and I headed to the big house to see if we could head off. Chiron approved, led us in the right direction and we started walking.
It didn't take at all that long to get there. And it wasn't easy to miss, either.
Apparently this demigod girl was rich, because she was living in a MANSION. A full out MANSION. Not to mention the hundreds of monsters surrounding the house. Chiron had told us that not many demigods lived out here because it was pretty secluded, there wasn't a school for at least 45 minutes. So either this girl had a long drive or she was home schooled.
Anyways, the monsters that preferred to live out here always grouped together if there was a new demigod for them to feast on.
"OK, plan time!" Annabeth whispered enthusiastically
We decided that we would hit them all at the same time but from different angles. I was to try and find a way inside and get the saytar ( I think his name was Fyllo) and the girl out and the run into the woods and wait until Percy and Annabeth joined us.
"Ready?" I asked
"Yup," Annabeth replied
"Three, two, one, go!"
We all rushed off Percy going straight and Annabeth and I attacking towards the sides. My sword moved in rhythm with me as I slashed my way to the door, a pile of dust always surrounding. I could tell the monsters were starting to get confused (they weren't the smartest) because the didn't know who to focus on. I used this to my advantage and i rushed them on with my sword in form of me and kicked down the door. Making sure to not let them in, I stacked to table on top of each other and hoped that Percy and Annabeth could keep them occupied long enough to get away.
I ran up the stairs and called out the them.
"Fyllo?"
"In here!"
I ran towards his voice and saw him tending to the girl. She had a blood soaked bandage wrapped around her ankle, and Fyllo was desperately trying to make it stop bleeding.
"What happened?" I asked urgently
"One of the things outside tried to stumble in after we got in the house, and Stephanie," he nodded towards the girl who smiled painfully, "tried to force it out. She kicked it multiple times and just as the creature was out the door, it clawed her in the ankle."
"A daughter of Ares if I ever saw one," I muttered
"Well lets go, Percy and Annabeth are defending us, and we can't keep them waiting forever-"
My sentence was cut off as a pair of claw like hands gripped me around the neck and threw me against the wall. Acting quickly, before I fell unconscious, I picked up my sword and threw at her, hitting my mark. It in paled her in the heart and knocked her backwards out the window. The last thing I saw was Fyllo rushing towards me.
Percy POV
I slashed Riptide left and right, never getting a scratch on me, and I knew Annabeth was doing the same. A good majority of the monsters were gone, but we had to get going now, or more were going to appear.
All of a sudden, there was a loud crash and a creature flew out the window. It had Phoebe's sword in lodged in it's heart. I might have thought that was a good thing, the creature was killed. But I saw the blood on its hands.
"Annabeth! We have to get inside, Phoebe must be hurt!" I yelled to her. She nodded and started to push towards the door. I did the same. we eventually made it inside and stacked up and much furniture as we could against the broken door.
"PERCY, ANNABETH, UP HERE!" Fyllo the saytar yelled down at us. Annabeth and I looked at each other and then sprinted up the stairs. Pheobe was laying on the ground, blood gushing from her forehead and indents in her neck. Even the new demigod had a bandage wrapped around her ankle.
"OK, OK, Annabeth, carry Phoebe and start heading towards the back door. Fyllo, do the same with the girl. I'll be right behind you. I stepped out of the way as they ran (or galloped) down the stairwell and out the back door, Annabeth leading them to where we were originally supposed to meet up after we had the girl. We had just made it outside when the front door was opened. I quickly pushed us all behind a dumpster and waited until it was quiet.
"Where they go?!" a voice hissed
"Come on, lets check upstairs," another replied. I quickly shooed Fyllo and Annabeth away and we ran towards the camp. When we got there we set Phoebe and the girl down and waited for the results.
Phoebe POV
When I woke up, I felt incredibly groggy. I didn't know where I was or how I got there. Then it instantly came back to me.
"STEPHANIE! WE. . . we have. . . have to. . . save..." My sentence trailed off as I looked at those around me, Stephanie included.
"What happened?" I murmured
"You died," An Apollo boy answered
"Oh shut up Brandon," another Apollo girl answered. She looked at me.
"You almost died, but you're fine now. You had a deep cut against you forehead and you couldn't breathe."
"Sounds fun, we should do it again sometime," I said before falling back to sleep.

After a week I was fine, I had stitches in my forehead and that would take a while to heal, but I could function normally. Stephanie got claimed by Ares, (called it!), and all was well. Percy and Annabeth could still be seen by the beach in the mornings and Percy was still usually late to most things, including the sword fighting class he and Annabeth taught to the young ones. Annabeth, Percy, and I, were closer friends and I did love them, even if I had to deal with their consistent PDA.
"STOP KISSING!"
"ARE YOU TWO DONE WHISPERING SWEET NOTHINGS INTO EACH OTHERS EARS!" I shouted
"ACTUALLY, WE WERE PLANNING YOUR MURDER!" Percy yelled back before hugging Annabeth
Ah, young love.
"DID I NOT JUST TELL YOU TO STOP MAKING OUT!"
Yay! Another one shot done, and it's my longest, with 2208 words! As I said, I'll try and update more until I finish this story but I'm not feeling as well so it might be a couple of days. For the next one shot I'm going to write, I'm going to do it by the perspective of Percy's swimming coaches. At least I think. It might be one of Annabeth's professors or OOHHH A SICK PERCY! Have I done that? I'll check.
