I sighed as I headed to the fire, still in my bikini. At least my friends will be here. I quickly found Calum and sat next to him. He smiled, wrapping an arm around me. Once again, my eyes searched for Michael. But I found him sucking face with some blonde bimbo. I felt my heart beat slow as I looked away quickly. I'm gonna avoid him for the rest of the night. I'm not even gonna look at him. I sighed. Why am I getting so worked up? He's a heartbreaker and I'm not falling under his spell. Calum gave me a warm smile. The rest of my friends walked over and we talked for the rest of the night. Why did Michael want me to come so bad if he isn't even talking to me? I shook the thought. We gathered around the fire, all engaging in a conversation.
"So, Ashley" Jessica said. "How about you and Calum?"
I looked at Calum and we both blushed wildly as everyone cheered. My eyes somehow found Michael and he scowled, looking away. I bit down on my lip.
"Yeah, are you guys together or something?" Luke asked. Everyone waited for the answer.
"We just met today..." I mumbled, embarrassed. After a while, we ended up playing truth or dare.
"Calum" Ashton said. "Truth or dare?"
"Dare" he replied.
"I dare you to kiss Ashley." Everyone chuckled silently as I looked at Calum. He smiled, leaning in. I closed my eyes and his lips found mine. I smiled into the kiss, loving this feeling. His lips were soft and pure against mine. As we pulled away, everyone clapped and I searched for Michael, but I couldn't find him. He left. I frowned, feeling as though I've hurt him somehow.
Hurt him?
He doesn't care about me. He just wants to get into my pants. I don't care about him either. I sighed and grabbed Calum's hand to forget about Michael. He grinned.
After a long night, I headed back to the cabin with Jessica. We talked about Calum and Luke, who she had been taking interest in. "Just out of curiosity, where did Michael go?" I asked after a while.
"Oh, um...when you and Calum started kissing, he just got up and left. Ashton tried to approach him and talk to him but all I know is Michael shoved his hand off and stormed away...I'd say Michael has a crush on you." My cheeks heated at her words.
"A crush on me? That can't be true..." I mumbled.
"Why not? You're gorgeous" she said, elbowing me in the side. I disagree with her, but I'm not gonna say anything.
"But if he had a crush on me, why was he kissing that blonde chick?" I asked. Jessica rolled her eyes.
"He's like that. Different girl every night. That's why I want you to stay away from him. I don't want your heart to get broken." She gave me a smile and I smiled back, deciding not to talk to Michael anymore.
I eventually fell asleep and woke up the next morning.
"We're going to a party tonight. Wanna come?" Jessica asked me.
"Eh...." I mumbled.
"Calum will be there" she said with a smirk, knowing she won me over.
"Okay, I'll go." She cheered.
Yesterday drained most of the energy out of me so I just stayed in my room and listened to music for most of the day. Mainly Blink 182 and Mayday Parade. I took a short shower and got ready for the party as night drew near. I put my hair back in a bun as I decided on wearing purple skinny jeans and a tank top that said "West Beach." I threw on a pair of purple vans and put on some light, natural make-up. Jessica soon came back from the beach and got ready herself. When she was finished, she drove me over. I felt kinda nervous considering the fact I would be surrounded by a lot of drunk people, but Calum being there gave me comfort. Or is it Michael giving me the comfort?.... Wait, what am I thinking? I don't like Michael. Stop thinking about him. I won't talk to him tonight. I won't.
We arrived at the party and as soon as we stepped in I felt extremely uncomfortable. Jessica gave me a comforting pat on the shoulder and I followed her to the group in order to see Calum. We soon reached them and Calum grinned, draping his arm around me. I ignored Michael's constant stares at me. I had a long conversation with Calum and couldn't help but to notice Michael taking shot after shot. I chewed on my nails a little bit, trying not to make it obvious that I care. What if he tries to drive home? He's obviously drunk. I tried to nod and listen with Calum but Michael strayed off. I interrupted him mid-sentence and said "Um, I have to go to the bathroom." I quickly got up and looked for Michael. Why am I doing this? I searched the huge crowd of people for Michael, knowing his purple hair would stand out. I sighed in frustration after a while. I suddenly found him leaning up against a wall, giggling at the ceiling. I couldn't help but to smile at his cuteness.
