"If I had told you that I couldn't have fixed these bikes, what would you have said?"

Jacob asked presumably to Bella, Haven was sitting in between them both in Bella's beat up truck. The motorbikes that Jacob and Bella had made brand new were at the back of the vehicle, the three were off to find a spot to test drive them.

Well, really it was only Jacob and Bella who were going to test drive them, Haven wasn't going to put her life on the line all for the joy of riding one of those death traps.

"Are you doubting your mad skills?" Bella playfully questioned, it was a weird thing for Jacob to ask in the first place and it made her wonder what was going through his head.

"No," He replied back with a smirk, "Definitely not, they'll run fine."

"Not to sound cocky or anything." Haven quipped back, Jacob gave her a playful side glance in return.

Bella sighed at the two beside her, she really did wonder how long it would take before the two of them went out. Jacob looked at her like she was god's gift but Bella wasn't sure whether Haven knew that. "If you told me you couldn't fix these bikes, I would have said too bad but all three of us are going to have to find something else to do together."

Haven looked to both of her friends sitting beside her to see that they had expressions that matched her own, full of happiness. She was grateful to have found two great friends, and she was also happy that her and Jacob's friendship has started to mend Bella back to what she was.

"Is that Sam Uley?" Bella suddenly asked, making Haven look towards her line of vision. Forks was a small town so Haven assumed that this 'Sam Uley' that Bella was speaking about happened to be the guy that found her after her breakdown in the forest.

The group of boys that Bella was looking at were all shirtless and close to the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. "Yeah, him and his cult." Jacob said bitterly, watching as two of the boys were coaxing and prodding another one of the shirtless guys towards the cliff edge.

They all watched as one of them got pushed off of the cliff.

"Oh my god." Bella muttered before she steered her car to the side of the road, Haven and her were ready to jump out seeing the boy go down.

Once the car had stopped, Bella and Haven immediately hopped out of the vehicle and all but ran to the other side of the road to see what was going on. Haven felt a sense of worry, hoping that the boy was okay. "Should we go over there and do something?"

A laugh could be heard behind the two girls. They both turned to see Jacob letting a few chuckles escape him as he lent up against Bella's red truck. "They're not really fighting guys, they're cliff diving."

Relief filled Haven's body knowing that the boy wasn't going to be in any trouble, she didn't know who he was but she didn't like seeing people get hurt.

"It's scary as hell, but it gives you a rush." He continued with a sour expression planted on his face.

She watched as another boy willingly jumped into the water in a dive, screaming as he went down. "People do that for fun?" Haven asked confused as to how that was appealing to anyone.

"A rush?" Bella muttered more to herself than anything else, but Haven caught on.

"Hell no, Bella. Don't even think about it." She whispered to the girl next to her, "I get that you want to see Edward or whatever it is that happens when adrenaline kicks into your body but there are safer ways. That is insane." Haven gestured towards the massive free fall that someone would have to endure to get to the bottom of the cliff.

Not hearing the two girls bickering, Jacob continued on talking, "You're supposed to jump from lower down but apparently that doesn't matter to Sam and his disciples."

Haven snickered at that, "Disciples? Does he think he is Jesus?"

"Something like that."

Bella and Haven began to walk back over to where Jacob was standing, "Do you have beef with them? You seem awfully sour."

"I don't know," He paused, trying to recollect his thoughts on the group. Bella and Haven had made their way and were standing on opposite sides of the brown haired boy, "They just think they run this place. Embry used to call them hall monitors on steroids, now look at him."

Haven looked to the gang of boys to see it was in fact Jacob's best friend getting ready to dive next, "Wait, that's Embry?" Bella commented, speaking both of the girls thoughts.

"Yeah," Jacob mumbled in conformation.

Haven looked towards Jacob now, he looked awfully sad at the mention of his best friend, "What happened to him?"

"He was missing from school and then all of a sudden he started following Sam around like a little puppy. Same thing happened with Paul and Jared." Jacob looked over towards the cliff, "Sam keeps giving me this look, like he is waiting for me or something. It's kind of starting to freak me out."

Hearing this, Haven thought back to the night that Bella went missing and she could recall the look that Sam was giving Jacob. He was right, it was almost if he was waiting for him. Unfortunately, Haven got a look from Sam too but it wasn't one that meant that. The look he gave Haven was one of recognition, almost as if he knew something about her that she didn't.

"Well, you should just avoid him." Bella stated, looking at Jacob with concern. Both her and Haven could see that the altercation with Sam was really worrying their friend.

"I've been trying."

"You have Bella and I to keep you occupied. Now, stop worrying about stupid Sam Uley and lets go test ride these bikes before I change my mind." Haven said trying to lighten the mood, all three of them hopped back into Bella's car with that being said and headed to where they were going before their minor detour.

Haven's face turned into a grimace as she was sure that her favorite pair of combat boots were stuck in the mud they had situated themselves in. They had made their way to this abandoned road, with an abundant amount of mud, to test ride the bikes. Bella was eagerly standing by the bike, with Jacob in front of her to teach her how to physically ride the vehicle. Haven stood off to the side, not at all interested in having a go herself.

Bella hooked one leg over the bike so that she was sitting on top off it, Jacob gripped the handle bars in front, "You look scared." He commented with a smirk.

"I'm not." She insisted, throwing a glare his way.

"Well, I am and I'm not even having a go. You guys realize how dangerous these are right?" Haven commented from her spot in the mud, she really hoped that her boots weren't ruined.

"Shut up, Haven." Bella threw a playful stare her way, "Now teach me, Jake."

He agreed with a knowing grin of how scared Bella was but continued to teach her the controls anyway. It didn't take long for Bella to understand and the bike roared to life, making Haven jump slightly at the loud noise.

"Ready?" Jacob spoke before moving out of the direct line of the bike, "Now, slowly release the clutch."

The bike jumped forward and Haven gasped audibly at the sudden movement, she was positive this was going to end badly.

"Whoa, are you alright?" Jacob asked, Bella's breathing was quickening and it looked like she was barely paying attention.

Haven took a step forward towards the two, "You can stop if you want Bella, quite frankly it would help my sanity if you did."

She shook her head, "I want to go again."

Jacob hesitated, not fully sure if that was the best option. Nothing would stop her though as Bella lurched forward on the bike, swiftly zooming down the road.

Haven immediately moved to stand beside Jacob to get a better look at what her friend was doing, she looked at Jacob who simply shook his shoulders not knowing what was going through the girls head.

Unfortunately, Haven thought she knew what, or who, she was seeing as she sped on that motorbike right now. "She needs to stop, this isn't safe."

As soon as Haven said this, they could both see that Bella was visibly losing control of the vehicle. Jacob was quick to yell, "Hit the break!" But it seemed like it was too late for the girl. She flew off the bike with a scream, hitting the rock as she fell to the ground.

Jacob moved to hop on the other bike, grabbing Haven's hand in the process pulling her along with him. "Get on the back!" He ordered, swinging his legs so that he was on the bike in seconds. Haven followed suit reluctantly, she did not want to be on one of these things after seeing what just happened to Bella but they needed to get to her as quick as possible.

Haven circled her hands around Jacob's body to keep balance on the bike, she had to ignore the shiver that she felt when she came into contact with him. The two sped off on the bike, getting to where Bella was fairly quickly.

Jacob rapidly helped Haven off the bike, holding her hand as they ran over to where Bella was slowly gathering herself by trying to get up from her fall. Haven gasped at the sight of the blood trickling down Bella's head from a gash.

"I'm good." She mumbled trying to stand up. Jacob was quick to grip her shoulders and make sure she stayed still. Haven immediately noticed when Jacob's hand left her own, her mind couldn't help but feel a bit sad about it.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" He said taking in the blood that was smeared over the top of her head.

"I want to go again."

Haven could not believe what she was hearing, "You are kidding me right? This is getting ridiculous Bella, you are not going again."

"No more bikes." He confirmed with what Haven was saying, "God, look at your head."

For what seemed like the first time, Bella reached up to touch the gash where the blood had flowed out off. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry." She quickly apologized out of instinct, noticing the blood that was coating her finger tips.

"You're apologizing for bleeding?" Jacob questioned curiously, not sure why she said it in the first place.

"I guess I am."

Haven let out a light laugh, "I'm pretty sure you can't stop it, Bella. It's a natural process."

Jacob stood up, "It's just blood, Bella. It's not a big deal." He tore his shirt off his body, revealing his toned muscles.

Haven's gaze turned towards him, she almost gawked at the sight of his tan skin complimenting his obviously worked out torso. Her eyebrows rose, she knew that Jacob was toned but she was not expecting him to look that god like.

He pressed the shirt against Bella's cut softly, she grimaced in pain even though he tried his best to not hurt her. She gazed up at Jacob.

"What are you staring at?" He mused as he continued to dab the shirt against the girl's head.

It took her a while to formulate her answer, "You're beautiful."

Haven laughed at her friend, that was definitely not a Bella thing to say. She had clearly whacked her head a little harder than expected on the way down.

Jacob laughed, "How hard did you hit your head?"

"I don't know."

With that, the three slowly made their way back over to Bella's truck, which Haven drove back even though she could not stand that car and its ancient controls.

She definitely had to have a word with Bella once she had recovered slightly. Bella couldn't continue on with this dangerous streak, it didn't matter how much she missed Edward. But before then, there was something that she had to do and it involved Jacob.

Once Jacob and Haven had successfully managed to get Bella home, with only a minor lecture from Charlie Swan, the two were now standing in the basement of the Eldridge household.

"Are you sure your parents won't be home?" Jacob inquired looking towards the many black cabinets in the garage, "And how did you not notice these before?"

Haven rolled her eyes, "I'm sure, they both have late shifts at the hospital tonight. Don't make fun of me, I noticed them I just never really cared until I saw the unlocked one. I thought they were full of paperwork or something."

"And how do you expect to open them?"

Haven rummaged around in her pocket to pull out a key, "Do you really have that little faith in me?"

After the mass amount of archery equipment she found, Haven was curious and rummaged around her house for days on end in search of the key to whatever her parents were hiding before she realized that it was in fact her house key that unlocked the cabinets, her parents had tried to hide the obvious in plain sight.

Jacob looked impressed, "How did you find that?"

She walked towards the door she knew that held the equipment she had uncovered not the long ago, she slipped in the key and the door popped open with ease, "It is our house key. My parents clearly doubt my intelligence."

"Or maybe they wanted you to find it."

Haven whipped her head around to Jacob, giving him a questioning glare that meant for him to carry on what he was trying to say.

"Think about it. You said that you had never really noticed the cabinets before because they were always locked so why would you find one unlocked in the first place?" Haven thought about this, it was definitely plausible. She had never once seen any of the doors unlocked and the the key being right under her nose did seem a bit suspicious.

"I guess we will see what they were trying to tell me when we open the rest of them."

Jacob gripped her elbow before she could start unlocking the cabinets, "Are you sure this is what you want to do? You could just ask them."

Haven shook her head, "I need to do this for myself. I have to know, Jake."

Knowing that she was sure, he hesitantly let go of the girls elbow. He was actually nervous for what was about to be uncovered about Haven's family.

"Here goes nothing." Haven muttered before she started off towards one of the cabinets with unknown contents.

When she opened it, it was nothing like what she had expected to find.
