Rex couldn’t help but pace back and forward in front of the door that held the bastard who had kidnapped his baby sister. The day had started out normal, he was in the process of picking up his sister from school when the playground was suddenly under fire as a van drove through the field and started to snatch children from their parents, two of the poor children ended up being Commander Cody’s son’s and Rex’s sister. A few other children were taken and the police knew it was a targeted act because the royal children of Anakin and Padme Skywalker were taken, the parents were frantic as were any other guardians of the children. Especially certain police officers such as Captain Rex who could only sit aside well that’s what most thought because a certain set of brothers were in the process of finding the children with their insane skills they had been taught by those who raised them up until Rex took them in after finding out he had a sister and later a completed family.
“Rex! We got your message. Any word?”
The voice of one of his brothers had Rex turning to see Echo running forward with Fives, the troublemaking twins who Rex had met in his foster home became his brothers.
“Not yet. Cody insists he will let me know. How he is working is beyond me” Rex sighed accepting the hug from Echo.
“No offence Rex but nothing could stop Cody from working this case not even Obi-wan” Fives said with a tease just as the door opened revealing a furious Obi-wan who was being dragged out the room by a frustrated Jesse, the lieutenant of Rex.
“Calm down, let Cody handle this. Remember he knows what he is doing” Jesse shoved Obi-wan into a chair, it was gently done leaving Obi-wan to only fiddle with his hands and glare at the floor.
Not even ten minutes later the door swung open and a frowning Cody appeared, all officers and even Anakin stood up ready for some information from the commander who remained impassive.
“What did he say?” Obi-wan asked, moving to wrap Cody up, the commander only crossed his arms looking annoyed.
“Sadly, each child was taken to be sold into a slave camp”
“No! My children!” Padme cried out, leading to Anakin to wrap her up and reassure her that they would get them back.
“What! Who the hell do they think they are?!” Fives roared only for Cody to hold up a hand as he leaned slightly into Obi-wan.
“Is there more?” Echo pressed while wrapping an arm around Rex who had paled as Cody nodded.
“It’s not just any slave camp, it’s a…” Cody looked off to the side making many of them frown as Jesse took a step forward into the commander’s view.
“What?” Anakin pressed his teeth together as he had a strange feeling about what was coming.
“It’s a pleasure camp owned by the Empire Gang” Cody admitted, he was struggling to remain impassive as Obi-wan pulled him close into his chest while the others cried out.
“We have to get them back!” Padme sobbed, her innocent children were in the process of possibly being used.
“We will,” Rex said with a determined tone.
“How?” Anakin turned to Rex while the Royal Guard’s leader turned up who was nicknamed ‘Fox’, the man looked furious as he ordered guards to protect the royal couple and Obi-wan who was royal by blood, Anakin’s older brother.
“A special team who have unique skills are in the process of finding our children” Rex answered.
“What if they can’t?” Jesse said, his voice mirroring most of their thoughts.
“That’s not possible since one of their own works on the inside, they won’t let us down because they have never failed a mission” Cody spoke up this time, hands tightened on his waist as Obi-wan pressed a kiss into his hairline.
“There’s a first for something” Fives muttered to Echo who nodded while crossing his fingers and praying that the children were all unharmed.
Elsewhere…
“Is everyone in position?”
“In position Hunter”
Hunter could only smile hearing Tech’s answer.
“I am but I still don’t like this plan”
A sigh escaped the sergeant’s mouth hearing his demolition expert’s opinion for the tenth time.
“I know Wrecker but he will be fine. Crosshair has done this many times”
“But, this is a pleasure camp. What if he gets hurt?”
“We will deal with it but for now silence over the radio, we need to hear everything and locate the children. Tech, start the scan, Wrecker get ready on my mark, you will break the heating system. Crosshair it’s over to you”
Hunter’s orders were nothing but simple. However, the youngest member of the brothers was being sent into the caves of evil as Wrecker would say but this was to save the children who had been kidnapped, one of them being Hunter’s good friend Rex’s baby sister who actually hung out with the brothers a lot. She even started calling them her batch and when some members were naughty, she joked calling them the bad batch which made them smile. She became their little sister but was reminded that she was not the youngest that fell to the youngest brother who was only twenty-one but did brillant at his job. She would only giggle and call them silly especially since she was five and he was twenty-one but she understood as she was very smart for her age.
“Crosshair, are you going to be alright in there? We can swap if you can’t…”
‘I will be fine, stop worrying’. A message through morse code came through the radios’ showing the brothers the answer their youngest brother had sent.
In another part a bunch of children had arrived and found themselves in a cage where adults roamed around it, spitting nasty comments and hurting other children who looked to have been through hell and back. Within the cage were some familiar faces, one of the older ones was ten and he was called Boil and his twin was named Waxer, they were the children of Cody and Obi-wan. Beside them were two younger children called Luke and Leah, they were eight and Anakin and Padme’s children. Another child was called Tobey, he was Jesse’s eldest at six years old and his mother was the famous medic known as Kix. While the youngest was a young blond girl who was tucked into Tobey’s side, her name was Omega and she was Rex’s baby sister standing at age five. Other children had been taken to another destination leaving those in the nearest cage to cower under the adults who were clearly under the influence of some type of alcohol and/or drugs.
“Which one of you belongs to the famous captain Rex?”
An individual walked up to the cage throwing some type of liquid at it making the children cry out in fright, the man laughed as he scanned the children until his eyes found the blond child with brown eyes looking exactly like the man who had taken down his company and put his wife in prison. He was lucky enough to escape.
“Found you!” He laughed grabbing Omega and yanking her out of the cage, she cried out while Boil reached for her only to be booted into the side violently, he cried out in pain as the cage door was slammed on his hand, he whimpered as they were locked inside of what they knew as a dog cage.
“Put them to work, I need the floors cleaned while I show the princess to a new type of punishment that her father deserves”
Omega only whimpered as she was dragged away from the laughing group of men and women who made sure to put the children to work and occasionally soaking them in water making them have to work longer but putting on a show for them.
“Stop your whimpering, what I’m about to do is going to hurt more than your arm being pulled” the man grinned down at her only for her to whimper as she was thrown to the side by him. Her hair was yanked violently as he made her kneel in front of him. She could only cry out as he reached for his pants when a knock on the door had him turning around and throwing her to the floor making her cry out in fear.
“What is it?!” He demanded to know why he had been disturbed when a known man walked into the room.
“Tyler has arrived, he says he has something that you may be interested in…”
“Send him in” The man said with a grin as he found the nearest cage and shoved Omega in, “Keep quiet, if I hear you make a sound. I will make sure to cut your tongue out and make you eat it so you can never talk again!” he threatened Omega who only nodded and climbed into the cage. She cried silently as a blanket was thrown over the cage but she took notice of a small gap that she was able to see out of. Her eyes landed on the man who entered in casual clothes, jeans and a leather jacket with no top showing that he was either here for business or something else. She couldn’t see his face but the word ‘Tyler’ had her thinking.
“Ah, Tyler. What can I do for you?”
‘I was in the area and thought I’d pop in to see you’
Omega couldn’t exactly understand some of the hand signals as she watched her kidnapper press closer into Tyler who moved closer until her kidnapper kissed the man deeply and lifted him up and out of view of Omega who tried to remain silent only for a groan of what sounded like pain had her covering her mouth. Thankfully she didn’t have to listen to the groans any longer as an explosion rocked the facility and something happened, she heard what sounded like scuffling almost like when she and Wrecker had a fun fight.
“Tyler, get behind me”
Omega heard her kidnapper shout as the room filled up with some sort of smoke and Omega tried to stop herself from coughing but she couldn’t stop herself so when the sheet was taken from the cage she couldn’t help but scream, only for arms of warmth to wrap around her showing a mask that she was familiar with.
“Hunter?” she asked in shock only to see another figure behind the famous sergeant, a smaller yet skinnier man who wore a visor and breathing mask. “Crosshair?”. The leader of the batch could only nod and smile at her, giving her his mask, Hunter lifted her into his arms before directing them out of the room, he made sure to check over the marksman who kicked the body of the man on the floor violently as they passed.
“Tech, the children are clear. Alert the authorities” Hunter ordered his engineer through the radio, he received a near silent confirmation as Crosshair vanished only for Wrecker to reappear with the kidnapped children who were in a famous ten seater truck. Omega was directed into the truck as Hunter climbed in. The sergeant remained by the door waiting for the rest of his team, shortly Tech appeared climbing in and avoiding gun fire.
“Step on it Wrecker. Crosshair just sent a signal to meet at the west side” Tech alerted his brothers who nodded, the biggest brother stepped on the gas leading to the children gasping in shock as the truck broke through the gates of the compound just as the swat team raided it coming out with big bosses who had wanted status. Some they had been chasing for years. Jesse normally led swat but this time Hardcase was Jesse's younger brother who had taken over for his big brother while he waited on word of his child.
Drifting the truck around to the west side of the building, Hunter lifted the hatch into the roof only to climb on it himself and catch the smaller body that dived for the truck as the facility behind the youngest brother exploded and Hunter pulled Crosshair into the truck while Wrecker drove for the rendezvous point which would be after a short flight to the palace of Coruscant.
Three Days Later…
Anakin couldn't help but copy his older brother in pacing up and down the corridor past the many windows of the palace which was on high alert as it was protected by the Royal Guard.
“My King and Queen, they have arrived” Fox’s announcement had all attention turned to the courtyard where a truck had parked, the same truck which looked to have gone through hell and back had arrived at a nearby airfield after having travelled in a cargo plane and journeyed across many miles holding the kidnapped children had all parents moving to the front yard which was private and away from the public eye.
“MUMMY!”
Padme was in shock seeing her twins who ran for her arms as she kneeled down to hold her frightened children. Anakin immediately wrapped up his wife and children, Leah and Luke clung to him while Obi-wan was reunited with his own twins, Boil and Waxer clung to him while waiting for their mother who was on his way.
“REX!”
Looking up from watching Jesse and Kix reunite with their son, Rex saw a blond blob running towards him so he wasted no time in wrapping the small child up. His youngest sister sobbed in his arms as his brothers came running over, Echo and Fives made sure to wrap their sister up, Omega only cried pressing closer to hear her brother's heartbeats. After some time twin squeals rang out as Cody appeared, the commander immediately dropped to his knees to hold his sons close to his heart while Obi-wan pressed into his back, holding his family close.
“Please can we get your names?” Padme asked, moving towards the armed masked individual’s who were silent. Anakin moved closer to his wife’s side as the one they saw as the leader nodded, removing their mask only for a gasp to ring out as an individual recognized the group.
“My name is Hunter, I am the oldest of this squad which consists of my brothers. We are known as the military mercenary group called Clone Force 99 but we are also the uncles to Omega Fett. I am the sergeant of this squad. These are my brothers: Wrecker, Tech and…”
“My sons!”
All heads turned to the voice that had interrupted them revealing to be Lady Shaak Ti, Padme’s sister, Shaak Ti ruled another kingdom, one called Kamino. She and her husband known to many as 99 had sons who disappeared after their crazy aunt claimed to have experimented on them leading to them running away.
“Mother?” Wrecker gasped out, removing his mask and moving over to wrap the woman up, Shaak could only gasp, pressing to feel her son's face. Hunter was in utter shock, never in their lives did they think they would see their mother again, they hoped by wearing her symbol they would by luck bump into her again. Tech moved over not hesitating to briefly hug his mother who took no offence when he pulled away while Hunter hung back with his youngest brother who remained with a hood up and mask on.
“Hunter?
Shaak Ti moved forward towards her eldest who was consciously protecting a smaller individual who she didn’t recognise, especially since they had a hood and mask covering their features.
“Don’t step any closer. How do we know it’s you?” Hunter spoke through gritted teeth, Shaak Ti could only sigh as she removed a necklace from around her neck making Hunter gasp seeing the royal symbol imprinted on the skin.
“My son, I won’t harm you. I can assure you that. What your fathers sister did was inhumane and shouldn’t have happened. I know losing a brother has made you lose trust in those around you but Tyler’s death was not your fault and…”
“He’s not dead we just made it look that way” Tech interrupted as Hunter moved aside revealing a skinnier man who removed his mask and hood revealing to be Shaak Ti’s youngest son, his silver hair matched her own, his unique silver almost grey eyes had her reaching out to pull him into a hug only for him to flinch slightly until Hunter wrapped an arm around him and whispered something at him.
“Tyler?”
“He goes by Crosshair these days” Wrecker said with a smile making Shaak Ti roll her eyes at their nicknames, she blamed her husband for that.
“Where’s father?” Hunter asked, wrapping an arm tighter around Crosshair when his younger brother leaned back into him.
“Your father is back at the kingdom being his normal demanding self as he is training your younger brother”
“We have another brother?” Tech asked in shock only for Shaak Ti to nod, “His name is Caleb, he is training to take over even if he is only seven. He knows all the stories of his older brothers and even visits Tyler’s grave now and then to show his respects” Shaak Ti explained with a smile.
“Ahem”
All attention drew back to Padme who gestured for Hunter to continue, the man only looked at his mother who nodded at him, giving him full permission to explain in detail.
“My name is Hunter Ti, I am the oldest prince of Kamino. These are my younger brothers Wrecker, Tech and Crosshair. We are the princes of Kamino and work as a mercenary group for the military services, our track record is clean and we have a skill type in a speciality range. You do not owe us a debt as we do not hold anything against those who were in unfortunate circumstances. All we ask is Gerald Transon is locked up for life as I can’t promise him to survive another encounter with my squad not after he almost hurt my family” Hunter explained, his eyes lingered on Crosshair longer before he found Omega hugging his legs.
"It will be done, please will you stay the night. You look like you all need some rest and food" Padme gestured to their home in which Hunter could only agree not for himself but for all of their ears due to the children pleading them all.
Shaak could only smile watching the way her children who were forced to grow up without her were directed into the palace, one of which they should have been around to grow up in but years ago when Hunter was sixteen, Wrecker fifteen, Tech eleven and Crosshair six, they were taken in the middle of the night from their home only to be put through torture and it led to their escape. In the process she thought Crosshair had died leading to the city to mourn while Nala Se was executed, she searched and searched for her son's but they had been trained by the best. Her head guard named Alpha had trained them in defence which had shortly been passed onto each brother by the elder.
Watching them interact with the others had her smiling and the way Hunter seemed to linger around Crosshair showed that the older man was still very protective.
"Tyler, please can I have a word in private?" Shaak asked her youngest who only nodded moving out of the room with Tech joining despite her saying 'private' her second youngster still came with. She gave him a look only for him to whisper something that had her in utter shock.
"Crosshair is a mute, Nala caused his vocal cords to stop working. I can translate for him"
"No need, I know how to speak sign language. Now please join your brothers, this won't take long" Shaak answered, placing a hand on Techs shoulder making her son nod, he pulled Crosshair into a half hug before vanishing out of the room to join his worried older brothers.
The two seemed to converse for a good twenty minutes before the door opened and Crosshair stalked out the room, he had replaced his mask and hood making his body language unreadable to some. However Hunter had basically raised his brothers so he knew Crosshair was upset, so the older man took it on himself to go check on him leaving Wrecker to ask the questions with a worried Tech.
"Relax, I just asked if he ever thought of the possibility of coming home because truth is, your father is dying and has asked one last request for his sons to be found" Shaak Ti admitted to her son's, Wrecker and Tech shared a look, the two knew one thing, Crosshair wasn't one to get upset about something like that, more was obviously going on so when the two raised an eyebrow, Shaak could only sigh. She went to speak again when Hunter reappeared.
"Wrecker, Tech. Let's go" Hunter ordered, he was holding his knife in his hand symbolising that Crosshair was in the process of having a panic attack and needed his brothers.
"But what about?" Padme gestured to their home.
"I'm sorry but we must go, we have been called elsewhere. However, we will be back to celebrate Omega's birthday at the weekend and mother, never mention those words to Crosshair again otherwise I can't promise that we will ever return home again" Hunter answered before turning his threat towards his mother who only nodded at the protective tone.
Omega could only grin at him hugging her uncles one last time before they ran out of the door and when she said run, she meant full sprint for the truck where a certain member was trying not to break down.
A week later…
It was an exciting day, Omega was turning six, she had not separated herself from her elder brother since her kidnapping and Rex couldn't blame her as he was always picking her up early from school. His twin brothers always joined him for pick up, whether together or separate. There were always two brothers to pick Omega up.
"Hey squirt, are you ready for today?" Rex turned to his sister who only nodded but looked sad.
"Squirt what's the matter?" Rex found himself kneeling down in front of his sister who looked off to the side.
"Did I do something wrong?" Omega asked, her tone carried to the other room waking Echo, the man moved to lean against the doorway.
"No, why would you even think that?" Rex questioned.
"Its just Hunter is not answering," Omega whispered, sobbing into her brothers shoulder. Rex sighed, he knew one thing Hunter was always around to watch Omega but he had been gone for six days in a row which was unusual. Omega looked forward to him picking her up on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday but he hadn't been seen all week and no message had gone out.
"Shhh, I'm sure he has a reason and is…"
"I miss him"
"I know and I'm sure he's missing you. Maybe he will be at your party today because I know he wouldn't miss it"
Meanwhile…
"How's he doing?"
"Not good, the order mother gave him purposely put a pressure on his brain, he is having constant headaches and nosebleeds. Thankfully we know a medic who has been able to pull the surgery off and found a type of chip in his head. It's clear that Nala was planning on using Cross to kill the royals off so she could have the throne. I can't imagine what that would do to Cross once he essentially 'woke up'" Tech explained, his eyes never leaving the data he had downloaded from the chip.
Hunter could only sigh changing out of his armour into more civilised clothing.
"Hunter, when are we leaving?" Wrecker appeared beside his brothers, they were all changed into civilian clothing.
Looking down at his sleeping brother, Hunter frowned, running his hands through the silver hair, it was clear his brother was not coming but Hunter didn't feel comfortable leaving him on his own which meant he was calling someone else to come watch him while the brothers left.
"We are leaving when Mayday gets here" Hunter said, Wrecker grinned thinking about Crosshairs boyfriend, the only one that Hunter had liked, so the man made sure to stick around.
"Okay, I'm going to call ahead and…" Wrecker muttered leaving the house to check on his baby, in other words his car.
Tech only shook his head and moved to grab his things just as a car pulled up and an slightly older man than Tech climbed out of the sports car. He waved at Wrecker before greeting Tech and Hunter.
"Make sure to keep an eye on his vitals and contact us, if he gets any worse plus…"
"Calm down Hunter, I've got this. I've watched him before, I do love him, remember plus I did my own medical training with him so I know what I'm watching for" Mayday laid a hand on Hunters shoulder and pushed the brothers to leave.
"Okay, no funny business. We should be back later on or in the morning" Tech warned in his big brother tone, moving over to grab the presents and join Wrecker outside.
"No worries" Mayday said with a gentle smile leading to Hunter nodding, Mayday watched Hunter press a kiss to his baby brother's forehead before leaving without looking back knowing Crosshair was in perfect hands.
A good hour later, Omega was running around enjoying her birthday, she had turned six today which was a big age for her. Rex smirked watching her run around like a maniac chasing Fives who grinned at her, Echo stood beside Rex ensuring him that the batch wouldn't let them down and he was proved right by the door opening revealing three members.
"Hunter!" Omega squealed, running for the eldest brother who lifted her into his arms making her laugh before Wrecker took her only to throw her in the air.
"Kid! We have missed you, sorry about not answering your calls. We were a little occupied" Wrecker apologised, only to be waived off by Omega who eagerly dived into her presents and cards.
Only after she had received some awesome presents did she realise the lack in a certain brother which a certain royal had noticed too. Shaak Ti walked over to her son's ready to ask the question when the emergency phone went off.
Anakin moved on the double ready to pick it up when it was Obi-wan who took the phone.
"Hello"
"You're messing with the wrong people, tell whoever saved the children. To be prepared for a loss they will feel again"
"Who is this?"
"No one of your concern. Hope you said your goodbyes"
The phone call then cut off leaving Obi-wan very confused, he turned to say something to the room when Hunter's emergency phone went off. He answered it without thinking only to go pale white, Wrecker grabbed him as Tech took the phone.
"Hunter, what is it?" Wrecker demanded to know as Omega hugged Hunter's waist.
"Oh god, Wrecker" Tech passed the phone over to his older brother who found himself watching a recent video of their house being bombed by missiles.
"What do we do?" Tech turned to Hunter who remained frozen as Shaak Ti came over to comfort her son's who were clearly in some type of shock.
"We get the son of a…who destroyed our home and we find Cross" Hunter said in a dark tone, Tech could only nod.
"Boys, is everything alright?" Padme appeared beside them with a worried expression only for Techs eyes to widen at the red dot on her chest.
"GET DOWN!"
Cody yelled as everyone dived for the floor including the children who were tucked under their parents. An explosion not far from them had all attention turning to the windows where multiple bullets were shot into the room as the Coruscant Guard were shooting back.
"Hunter!" Techs shout had the brother turning around only to gasp at who entered the room with a bloody Fox who had been thrown to the floor. Anakin immediately found himself very concerned for a long time friend as Obi-wan placed himself in front of his family but behind Cody who had made sure his body was in the way. Their children behind them with Kix, Tobey and Jesse.
"Who are you?" Anakin demanded to know only for the black armoured individuals to enter with a very familiar symbol that many knew as a threat.
"My name is Darth and I am the leader of the Empire Gang" Darth introduced himself, he was holding a bloody necklace which he threw at Hunter, the sergeant caught it only to grimace. It was Crosshairs necklace, his baby brother was dead.
"What do you want?" Padme questioned, Obi-wan frowned watching the individuals in front of them carefully.
"I want you all dead as I think it's time for a new ruler, don't you agree?" Darth chuckled, turning to face Rex who glared with all his might from beside Fives and Echo, the two covering Omega who had managed to get back to them.
"Ah Captain Rex, how does it feel to be on the losing side" Darth sneered at the man who had originally worked with Darth but left after giving the job opportunity as a Lord at the palace as well as raising his family away from the constant danger.
Rex only glared as Cody stood in the way of him.
"Now tell me, Commander Cody, did you ever tell your husband of your past? With the Empire?" Darth teased leading to Cody glaring, Obi-wan frowned at him.
"How about to the point you murdered your whole family…or when you set that village on fire killing all the orphans and…"
BANG!
A grunt of pain had Darth stumbling back as he and his minions were forced to duck for cover as several bullets came into the room taking them down one by one.
"Kill them!" Darth ordered only to meet the face of Cody who found himself in a fist to fist fight with the leader of the Empire.
Jesse, Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Fives and Echo wasted no time in protecting their family while avoiding whoever was shooting into the palace.
"Kix! Get the royals and kids out of here!" Jesse ordered his husband who nodded, the royal medic gestured for them all to follow him. Obi-wan didn't want to leave entrusting Anakin with his twin sons as he helped Cody despite his partner's protests.
Kix took the King and Queen plus the children to a safe spot. In other words, the room that he knew was bulletproof with it being originally an experimental room. It was now a training room for target practice. He and Jesse turned the targets on now and then when Jesse had to take his anger out on non moving objects.
"What are we doing here?" Anakin roared in anger at Kix who remained impassive. Padme sighed, moving to calm her husband down.
"This is the safest room" Kix answered bluntly while rubbing Tobey's back.
"Sure it is, it's a walking arsenal on legs" Anakin grumbled comforting Leah and Luke as well as the Kenobi twins. The only child not entirely worried was Omega who had glued herself to Kix's side.
"Ignore him, he's not used to running away from a fight" Padme patted Kix's shoulder, the medic nodded moving to settle Tobey and Omega down in the corner when the door was opened and Obi-wan came in with a limping Jesse. The lieutenant was bleeding from his side. Kix wasted no time in going to run over when Anakin snatched him and gestured to behind Obi-wan where Darth stood with a gun at Obi-wan's head, the older man had tears slipping down his face.
"Dammit" Anakin cursed catching Obi-wan who was shoved forward into his brothers arms while Jesse was shoved in Kix's direction, the medic caught his lover without making a sound.
"What do you want!?" Padme asked in terror only for Darth to aim his gun straight at Obi-wan.
"For you to join your lover" Darth snarled, pulling the trigger of his gun.
BANG!
Pain spread through the individual who had been shot but it wasn't the one intended. Nope, a scream of pain turned attention to Omega who was clutching her shoulder, she had been shot when the gun went off and that was due to another entering the fray.
"Omega!" Padme cried out scooping the child up and helping Anakin put pressure on the wound as Omega cried into the arms of the royals.
"Argh! Who the hell do you think you are?" Darths shout turned attention to the man who found himself disarmed and had a knife held directly at his neck. No words came from the individual but the mask was removed for a split second making Darth gasp in shock only to be knocked unconscious and the mask to be replaced.
"Who are you?" Anakin insisted on knowing who had saved them. The individual didn't say anything, instead injected Darth with something and handcuffed him.
"Cro-ss-hair?" Omega whimpered out, the individual only nodded moving over to her. He kneeled down and passed her something which she took with a smile, it was a teddy key chain he always had on him. It made her smile when she asked for it.
"It's safe to leave. We have made sure everyone is sleeping for now" Another individual appeared wearing a navy leather armoured jacket.
"Who are you?" Obi-wan asked sceptically.
"Names Mayday, I'm Crosshairs partner. Now, I suggest we leave and reunite with the others in the throne room. The Coruscant Guard are doing a sweep of the palace just in case" Mayday explained, moving out of the way of the door.
"Any news of Cody?" Obi-wan asked a question that caught all attention.
"Cody? What happened?" Anakin demanded watching Kix wrap Omega's wound, the bullet had gone straight through. Jesse was grimacing as Kix passed him some painkillers for now.
"He was shot through the chest, saved my life" Obi-wan answered with tears in his eyes. Kix barely took a minute to register his words before both him and Anakin sprinted through the palace only to come across Cody who was being worked on by Tech and Fox, even if the high commander looked like hell himself. The two were doing emergency surgery on the man, Kix kneeled down beside the two and took over for Fox who couldn't be anymore grateful.
The batch or more importantly Hunter gasped seeing Crosshair who was swaying on the spot, Mayday's arm around him, were the only thing keeping him standing. Quickly Hunter jogged over and thanked the universe he did as his brother's body collapsed, still fighting the sickness right into the arms of his brother.
Two Weeks Later…
Obi-wan could only sigh from the opposite side of the glass, his eyes directly on the hospital bed that held his husband, the mother of his children had been through a surgery only to be put in quarantine for what he had been exposed to. But, he wasn’t the only one in the hospital room; Tech and Crosshair were as well. They had been exposed to something too. Tech when he was helping Cody while Crosshair was the one who had been originally exposed to something, Tech had just quarantined himself to look after the two.
“Any change?” Anakin’s voice had Obi-wan glancing his younger brother's way.
“None, he’s still asleep. Tech has provided updates but if Cody does not wake in the next few days, they don’t know what they can do for him” Obi-wan whispered, Anakin could only wrap an arm around him, pulling him close, both their eyes on Cody while on another bed was Tech who held a sleeping Crosshair in his arms. The younger of the two on an IV until he was feeling better, his sickness stronger due to his health condition. Both brothers were being watched by both Hunter and Wrecker, who took turns to make an appearance at the windows as did Mayday who was becoming a favourite babysitter to all the children.
“Come, they will still be there when we come back” Anakin guided his brother away from the window and into the living quarters of the palace. Commander Fox as always was on guard, he was on watch despite him still healing from his injuries, Anakin knew his good friend was stubborn but then Fox was Cody’s older brother. Both brothers if they weren’t doing anything would go stir crazy so Anakin was thankful Fox could put his mind on other things for now.
A month had passed and it was clear to them all that Cody was more than likely not going to wake up, some still had hope while the majority had to move on with their lives even clone force 99 had returned to their home. Hunter had been the first one to greet their dying father who sobbed holding them all, news came to the kingdom as a shock that the four older princes were alive but none of them would be taken over unless anything ever happened to Caleb who loved having four older brothers. Wrecker held him close anytime he needed a hug while Tech bonded with him over his love for building things like his bike. Hunter took to him like any older sibling while it was Crosshair who struggled to connect with Caleb due to the lack of verbal communication but Caleb was trying his hardest to learn sign language even if it was difficult, Caleb was stubborn. Mayday became a family favourite, even if he was six years older than Crosshair, both parents loved him due to his kind and caring nature. Plus, he was gifted, in this instance, he somehow got Crosshair to join in their family activities.
However, this didn’t mean the brothers didn’t return to see the others; nope they did, they had become Omega’s favourite babysitters and the other children loved them, they were technically cousins to Anakin’s children due to Padme and Shaak Ti being sisters. Currently, the group were watching the children while their parents were in the meeting of all the kingdoms, surprisingly 99 was able to make it, even in a wheelchair.
“Hunter?”
“Yes Megs?”
“Now that you have Caleb, does that mean you are going to forget about me? Us?”
Omega’s soft voice had Hunter immediately kneeling in front of her and pulling her into a hug while Wrecker who had Caleb in his lap looking over in worry, “Never, we will never forget about you or the others. You are family as much as Caleb is and don’t you ever forget it” Hunter reassured her, Omega smiled snuggling close while little Tobey reached for Fives who grinned, he was sitting in the same room flirting with Wrecker who was doing the same.
“Oh get a room, you sicken me” Echo grumbled from beside Tech who just laughed at him.
“Tell yourself that bro” Fives teased moving to help Boil and Waxer with their new crafts.
“It would seem love is in the air” Mayday cheekily teased from his place beside Hunter on the sofa, the two shared a smile. Hunter rolled his eyes seeing Wrecker send another flirty smile Fives way. Echo only rolled his eyes at his twin as he watched Omega move over to Luke and Leia who were sharing identical grins.
“Now we just need to get Hunter with someone” another amused tone had all heads turning to someone who was on death's bed the passed month.
“Oh my….how?” Echo and Hunter were across the room and pulling the older man into their arms.
“Tyler worked out that I needed a certain serum in my blood to jolt me awake, you should be proud of your baby brother” Cody softly said as Hunter and Echo gently lowered him into a seat right in front of two boys who yelled at the top of their voices.
“MAMA!”
Their shouts were definitely heard by others as the door to the living room was thrown open by a shocked Obi-wan who heard his son’s scream, in what he thought was pain but instead he let his own sob out seeing who was on the sofa with Boil and Waxer tucked into his arms.
“Cody” Obi-wan moved swiftly to his side and pulled his husband and children into his arms, the others looked away allowing them a moment of privacy which was soon interrupted by the rest of the family running into the room only to come across a sight of love and nothing else.
A silent presence in the corridor had Mayday leaving the room only to wrap his arms around his silent partner, one who tried to remain out of family gatherings due to the lack of comfort he had for them. Mayday smiled kissing Crosshairs head as he led the way down the corridors until he found the perfect spot, the balcony that overlooked the beautiful kingdom of Coruscant. The sun setting behind them gave Mayday the chance to do something he had been discussing with Crosshairs brothers, all of which had gave him permission for his next actions.
“Tyler?”
The soft voice of Mayday had him turning around only to let out a silent gasp seeing Mayday down on one knee, the beard man had a smile on his face as he held a ring out to him.
“Tyler, although we are young and probably a bit naive, I want to be the first one to be able to do this before life gets in the way because we both know tomorrow is never promised and our love is eternal for one another….”
From afar three older brothers wore grins on their faces while a small boy on the hip of a bigger man and a blond child in the arms of her favourite baby sister, watched as Mayday sputtered words of love and nothing but safety before Crosshair nodded. The love in both of their eyes had the five figures watching as Mayday spun Crosshair around and kissed him deeply. More footsteps revealed to the parents to the brothers who wore looks of shock especially when Crosshair turned and gestured for them to come over.
Hunter wasted no time in being the first one to wrap his arms around the couple, Omega was on his hip who snuggled close to Mayday when he took her, easily he threw her in the air making her giggle before Wrecker, Caleb and Tech appeared, all of them congratulating the couple. Crosshair smiled, leaning back into Mayday who wrapped his arms around him especially when 99 and Shaak Ti appeared. Both of them smiling at their family, Mayday grinned especially when they all stood together watching the sunset.
“So, has anyone got any bigger plans now that we have time to rest?” Wrecker teased, looking at them all with Caleb in his arms. Several of them shrugged, Omega snuggled close to Hunter who knew he would be in her life for a long time.
“Probably….ra-ise….my…..kid”
A hoarse tone had all eyes widening as Crosshair grinned, he hadn’t spoken since he was six and due to a recent serum, both he and Cody knew about. They had tested it on him as soon as Cody had his dose.
Two sentences soon appeared, “You can talk again” followed by “What!”. The difference between Tech and Hunter was outstanding as Mayday grinned.
“I’m confused” Omega turned to Caleb who wore the same expression as Wrecker.
“Tyler’s pregnant” Mayday admitted, he watched all of their expressions turn from shock to happiness to terrifying glares, even Omega and Caleb had them. Mayday gulped, holding Crosshair tightly to his chest, especially since Mayday knew they were all being protective due to Crosshairs severe heart condition. His fiancé only smirked, enjoying his family's looks, he couldn’t help but bring Mayday into a deep kiss which had the others grumbling but soon it turned to laughter.
“So, none of you are going to kill me?” Mayday turned to them all.
“We won’t unless you hurt Tyler and then there will be hell to pay” it was Caleb who had spoken.
“That we can agree on” Tech added, Caleb laughed reaching for his brother who put his tablet down and took his baby brother allowing Wrecker to wrap an arm around both of their parents.
“And I wouldn’t have it any other way” Mayday’s voice had them all smiling as they knew one thing, if anything ever happened to the family. Mayday would be there for them all including Omega who had basically been adopted into the family as from the palace doorway was the rest of them with Rex, Echo and Fives at the front. Their smiles are ever so grateful for the family in front of them for rescuing their sister and bringing back the children who were cherished by them all. Happiness came with a last resort and this resort pulled through.
