Third person's pov

The next day, the jeon family was in Jungkook's room, waiting for the doctor to come in and give them update about Jungkook's condition depending on the tests.

Just then, there was a knock on the door and the doctor walked in, followed by a nurse who was carrying a folder. 'Good evening, everyone,' the doctor greeted with a smile.

'Doctor, how is our son?' Mrs. Jeon asked, her voice shaking with emotion.

The doctor's expression turned sympathetic as he opened the folder. 'Jungkook's leukemia has progressed to a critical stage,' he said. 'He needs to start his chemotherapy as soon as possible.'

A wave of silence swept through the family members.

Mrs. Jeon closed her eyes and squeezed Jungkook's hand, " It's okay, love." She whispered softy looking at him.

Jungkook looked at her with doe eyes which were filled with tears, but he still managed a small smile and a gentle nod of reassurance.

'It's a long and arduous process,' the doctor explained. 'It will require multiple cycles of treatment, each lasting for several weeks. He will also need to take medication to support his immune system and manage the side effects of chemotherapy.'

Mr. Jeon clasped his hands together. 'How so-oon can we start the treatment?'

"As soon as we can," the doctor replied. "Now, let me explain the chemotherapy process in a bit more detail. The first cycle will be the most intensive one, where we will be giving  him medication through an IV for several hours each day. After that, the subsequent cycles will be a combination of oral medications and occasional IV infusion. He will also need to undergo regular blood tests to monitor his progress," he said, giving Jungkook a gentle pat on his back.

" Now, I will take my leave and Mrs. Kim you will have to go though a number of tests for tomorrow's session." Saying this the doctor exited the room.

And soon nurse came in to prep Jungkook for his tests. 'Alright, Mrs. Kim, let's get you ready for your tests. We need to take some blood samples and run a few other tests before your chemotherapy tomorrow,' she said with a smile.

Jungkook nodded and rolled up his sleeve as the nurse placed a tourniquet around his arm and searched for a suitable vein. He braced himself for the sharp prick of the needle but was taken aback when he felt a pinch instead.

" You did so well, Jungkookie," Mr. Jeon praised Jungkook with a cracked voice which he tried to make as cheerful as possible.

" I am not a child anymore that I will be scared of needles appa," Jungkook said in a joyful voice to make his family smile a little.

But his voice was clearly not matching his eyes or expressions.

After a few more vials were filled, the nurse removed the tourniquet and bandaged his arm.

'Alright, that's done. Now, we need to do an EKG and an X-ray,' the nurse said, handing him a gown.

Jungkook quickly changed and settled himself on the hospital bed, trying to keep his mind occupied. The EKG was quick and painless, but the X-ray was a bit more uncomfortable as he had to hold his breath while the machine took images of his chest and abdomen.

After completing the tests, Jungkook returned to his hospital room, his body feeling weary from the procedures he had just undergone. With the assistance of the nurses, he settled onto the bed,

Mrs. Jeon rushed to his side and leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to Jungkook's forehead, her touch comforting in its familiarity.

"Are you feeling okay, sweetheart?" she asked, her voice soft with worry.

Jungkook managed a weak smile, grateful for his mother's presence. "I'm okay, eomma," he replied, his voice hoarse.

Mrs. Jeon then turned to the nurses, "Is there anything Jungkook can have to eat?" she asked,

The nurses nodded, "Of course, Mrs. Jeon," one of them replied. "We'll bring something light for Mrs. Kim to eat."

They returned shortly afterward, carrying a tray of food that had been specially selected to be gentle on his stomach.

Mrs. Jeon watched as the nurses set the tray down on the bedside table. After doing the task the nurses bowed and left the room.

" Eomma I don't feel like eating, at all,"
Jungkook looked looking at the food and then his mother.

"Try to eat something, kook," she said gently. "It'll help keep your strength up, hmm just a few bites?"

Jungkook nodded hesitantly, though he felt no appetite after the day's events. He forced himself to take a few small bites,

Yoongi smiled softly as he spoke to Jungkook, "I will feed my brother," he said gently, picking up the spoon and scooping up a mouthful of food.

Jungkook nodded without protesting or saying anything even though he had no space left in his stomach.

Meanwhile, a soft knock on the door signaled the arrival of Taehyung, Hye-joon, and Taemin. They entered the room with slow steps.

Taemin's eyes immediately lit up at the sight of his mother, and he hurried over to Jungkook's bedside.

"Eomma!" Taemin exclaimed, his voice trembling as he threw his arms around Jungkook. The sudden movement caused a bit of juice to spill from the tray, but no one paid it any mind in the moment.

Taemin buried his face in Jungkook's chest, tears streaming down his cheeks wetting Jungkook's hospital gown.

Then Taemin leaned forward and pressed a series of gentle kisses to Jungkook's face and forehead. "D-Don't leave m-me, eom-mma," he whispered, his voice filled with desperation.

Jungkook's heart broke at the sound of Taemin's plea, and he pulled him closer, resting their foreheads together.

He hadn't forgiven Taemin just yet but but the way Taemin was requesting him not to leave, broke his heart.

He may be angry with him or mad at him, but at last he is his mother, he can't totally ignore his child especially when he is crying his heart out in Jungkook's arms.

Suddenly a nurse entered the room, her presence breaking the tender moment between Jungkook and Taemin, she delivered the news that Jungkook needed to undergo a few more tests. Jungkook nodded in understanding, mentally preparing himself for the additional procedures.

With Mrs. Jeon's assistance, Jungkook began to rise from the bed. However, his movements were halted by a sudden tug at his legs. Looking down, he saw Taemin knelt before him, his arms wrapped tightly around Jungkook's legs.

"Eom-mma, do-on't g-go," Taemin pleaded, his voice quivering with fear and desperation. Jungkook's heart clenched at the sight of his son's words, the unexpected action catching him off guard.

Taehyung, stepped forward, his voice gentle but firm. "Taemin, baby, stand up," he urged, his eyes filled with concern. But Taemin remained steadfast, refusing to release his grip on Jungkook.

Jungkook reached down, his hand gently caressing Taemin's trembling shoulder. "Taemin, listen to me," he said softly, "I'm just going for some tests. I'll be back soon."

But Taemin shook his head adamantly, his eyes pleading with Jungkook to stay. "No, n-no, please no," he whimpered, his grip tightening even further.

Mr. Jeon stepped forward, attempting to pry Taemin away from Jungkook, but the young boy refused to budge.

As Jungkook looked at the nurse with a pleading expression, he couldn't help but hope for a positive response. "Is it possible that he can come along with me during the tests?" he asked gently,

The nurse hesitated for a moment before shaking her head apologetically. "Sorry, sir, but it is not allowed" she replied softy,

Feeling defeated, Jungkook turned to see Taemin still clinging to him, his tears flowing unchecked. With a heavy heart, Yoongi managed to coax Taemin to stand, but the young boy continued to sob inconsolably.

Then Jungkook left with the nurse.

Taemin continued to cry seeing Jungkook dissappear into the hallway, Taehyung tried to calm him down but he just wouldn't listen.

Seeing Taemin's continued cries, Hye-joon stepped forward, and cupped Taemin's left cheek, "Are you a little boy, Taemin?" she asked, her voice tinged with frustration. "Why are you being so childish these days?"

" Hye-joon don't say anything to him," Taehyung said, while his one hand was patting Taemin's head.

" But appa-"

Before she could complete the sentence or say anything more, Jimin stepped in, his expression stern, "Hye-joon, Taemin is six years younger than you," he reminded her. "He's obviously really scared by what's going on. Don't just say anything that is coming to your mind, all this is much hard on him."

Hye-joon looked down on the floor, this wasn't exactly what she wanted to say but it came out as mean.

Taehyung wrapped his arms around Taemin, pulling him close in a comforting embrace. Yoongi handed Taemin a tissue,

After a few minutes......

As the tension in the room began to subside, Taehyung couldn't help but ask,

"Has the doctor given any updates about the treatment?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry.

Mr. Jeon nodded. "He will be starting it tomorrow," he replied, his expression plain.

"Wait, then I have to go pay the fees," Taehyung said, already preparing to leave.

But before Taehyung could take action, Yoongi interjected, "I already paid it. I don't need your pity for my brother," he declared, his words laced with resentment. "I am alive and can pay for it just fine."

Taehyung's jaw tightened in frustration. "He is my responsibility," he insisted, his voice firm.

Yoongi scoffed, his bitterness evident. "Now you remember, woah," he retorted sarcastically, clapping his hands in mock applause. "Clapping for you."

Taehyung's eyes flashed with irritation. "Hyung, you are crossing your limits," he warned, his patience wearing thin.

But Yoongi refused to back down, "And you have already crossed them," he shot back, his tone defiant.

Before the argument could escalate any further, Taemin intervened,  "App-pa, Unc-cle, can yo-ou both stop?" he pleaded, his eyes brimming with tears. "We are in a h-hospital, eom-mma is goin-ng to sta-art his treatme-ent tomorro-ow. Please stop for now."

Taemin's heartfelt plea struck a chord with everyone in the room, their anger momentarily forgotten in the face of his distress. Mr. Jeon's expression softened as he looked at his grandson,

"App-pa, you ar-re at fa-ault," Taemin continued, his voice trembling with emotion. "You sho-ould be apolo-ogizing to eomm-ma, not fighting. And un-ncle, why a-are you giving more str-ress to eomma by fight-ting?"

Taemin stopped for a moment and everyone was silent.

The room was completely pin drop silent untill Taemin spoke again but this time with an even cracked voice,

" Are we still a family appa ? It feels like we all are just strangers forced to stay together. Can't w-we ma-make thin-ngs right ag-gain ? C-Cant we ju-ust sto-op figh-hting and c-can we be a family ag-gain?"

So that was all for today's chapter, I hope you enjoyed reading it.

So what are your views on it?

And one thing, someone messaged me yesterday and requested me to not make jungkook affectionate at all towards his children from now on,

Okay, to some extent I understand this but remember that Taemin and hye-joon are his children and he is their mother!

No one is completely pure and definitely at times have disrespected our parents, but that doesn't mean that our parents will stop loving us then,

I am not defending Hye-joon's or Taemin's actions at all, they don't deserve his forgiveness, atleast right now.

The road to forgiveness is long but never worthless, I can't just simply make jungkook fully ignore his kids and kick them from his life.

Being a parent is never easy and along it comes many difficulties and sacrifices and one of them is forgiveness. I am not saying that you have to forgive your child for every mistake and its compulsory but just think about it for a moment,

No one is perfect nor can be.

The purpose of this book was to make people realise to value others when you have them and treat your family especially parents with respect because no one, I repeat no one can ever love like a parent.

And the second main purpose was to make things things right before it's too late and here it can be applied on both sides Jungkook and his family.

His family have to make things right before it's too late and Jungkook also have to make things right so that no one in the end is left with " what ifs "

So this was just my view overall, let me know your thoughts!

Borahae,
Byee.
