Short Bio:
Purple Freddy, or the more popular name, Shadow Freddy, is a mysterious character. He looks like Withered Golden Freddy but purple and with white glowing eyes. It is theorized that it either represents agony, a creature created out of all the terrible stuff that has happened at Freddy's, like Shadow Bonnie might be. Another theory is that it's the spirit of someone who went through a springlock failure. Although, the movie shows him as a suit, so we can only assume Purple Freddy is also a suit in the game, who possesses it however, is unknown. It is theorized it may be the Crying Child, except as a hallucination, its believed he may have possessd Golden Freddy until he was kicked out by the next spirit and he became this.

FNAF 2:
Purple Freddy will appear in the Parts and Service Room on rare occassions, just sitting there and smiling at the camera in Bonnie's usual spot. He will only appear when no other animatronic (other than Foxy and Golden Freddy) is not there. It might've been possible that he's actually just Golden Freddy but in the shadows, which would be revealed later in the game, as he appears. But this wouldn't make much sense as you are shining the flashlight on him.
FNAF 3:
Further confirming he may indeed be a suit, he appears in this game in the minigames, where he tells the animatronics to follow him into the safe room. However, it is revealed that it was actually Purple Guy under the suit.
FNAF 4:
Purple Freddy is not technically in this game, but it is assumed that FredBear's purple shadow may be a reference to him.

Purple Freddy is not in this game...there is a SHADOW Freddy however, which could be him at the beginning of the glitchy game. It is theorized that his footprints are the ones in Midnight Motorist.

PURPLE Freddy is not in this game. However, a pitch black Freddy appears, similar to Shadow Bonnie. And since this Freddy might also be called, "Shadow Freddy" we can assume they are meant to be the same character, but video game version.
