The Gorgeous 'Sunrise'

It was a dark and eerie night, the streets of the city were quiet and empty. The neon lights illuminated the dark streets, casting a vibrant glow on the buildings and sidewalks.

While most stores were open twenty-four/seven there weren't many pedestrians. The only sounds that could be heard were the distant sirens of passing ambulances and the occasional car driving by.

You had thought walking with Bakugo, a loud and brash young man with spiky blonde hair and a fiery temper, would be a hard thing to do. And it was.

It was harder than all the other times you had walked with him. Every few minutes he would just stop and start looking around, searching for something.

And when you started getting annoyed about it and asking him questions, he would just roll his eyes and spit back a remark with the dumb nickname 'Uso-tsuki'.

Another thing he would do for no reason was just pull you around by the collar of your shirt. He never told you when he was going to cross the street or turn a corner, he just said 'shut up and listen to me.' Which was starting to get on your nerves.

Suddenly, you felt a tug on your neck, snapping you out of your thoughts. "Ow," you stated, not even sounding like you were actually hurt. You were just trying to get him to notice and stop.

He replied, "Shut up."

"No," you responded, pulling forward in another direction.

Bakugo pulled back, "what the fuck are you doing?"

"No, what are you doing? You're treating me like a dog right now," you said. You grabbed onto the collar of your shirt, putting your fingers in between the shirt and your neck, in hope not to strangle yourself without breath.

"You are kinda a bitch," he retorted back.

He was getting a lot of remarks today and you didn't know where they were popping out from.

"Can you let go now? I can just follow you, you don't need to pull on me."

" 'Can we go now?' " He mocked in a squeaky-pitched tone that sounded nothing like your voice.

You rolled your eyes as you opened your mouth to spoke, but you quickly closed it. It was better to say nothing and save yourself from another remark.

Bakugo looked like he was waiting for your answer but when you didn't he questioned, "can we leave now? We're on a time limit y'know."

You stopped pushing yourself forward, instead turning around and slapping his fingers off of the back of your shirt. "You are a hypocrite," you told him, shaking your head.

He stared at you for a moment, clearly showing to you his impatience and confusion. "Let's just go," Bakugo told you as he began to walk away. However, you didn't follow.

Bakugo stopped after a moment, turning back to you and seeing that you haven't moved a step. He rolled his eyes and groaned as he rapidly walked back in the direction of where you were standing.

You stuck out your hand at him and he instinctively slapped your hand away, looking back up at you to see you had on a not amused face. "What?"

"Take my hand," you explained as you stuck your hand out again.

Bakugo stared at you with disgust in his face. "I've held your hand more than enough," he spat, stuffing his hands into his pockets.

"C'mon, I know you're nervous about this whole thing. Plus, I don't wanna be dragged."

"I'm not nervous, you're the one who's being the damn nervous one around here," he retorted back at you.

You rolled your eyes, you knew he was nervous and uneasy about everything now, anything that has happened this night could and does contribute to his persona of uneasiness. "Just take it."

"You better put that hand away before I kick it," Bakugo threatened.

You chuckled, "not explode it? Kick it?"

Bakugo stared at you for a moment, his features softening on his face.

You put your hand down, "has something been going on with your quirk?"

Bakugo looked away and you knew your answer.

"Why didn't you tell me? This is important, you have to tell me these things if you're losing your quirk."

Bakugo looked back at you, the soft features he had shown a moment ago eradicated. "No, they're not gone yet. And I know Winter weakens my quirk but it's not that either."

"That means the process is speeding up, we may not have that much time as Bondye said we do," you said as you began to move around, you were getting that feeling all over again. The shaky hands, blurry vision, and increasing heartbeat.

No. You weren't going to act like this today, you exhaled and stopped moving. You weren't nervous at all, Bakugo was and you had to help him. At least that's what you told yourself.

You stared at Bakugo, "well, what are we doing standing here? Let's go!" You began to run, hoping Bakugo was following behind.

Except, Bakugo was not going to be behind you, instead he sped up, slowly gaining on you and now leading the run. "Isn't it around here?" You shouted, looking around the buildings.

He yelled back, "Somewhat."

Just then you caught a glimpse of a brightness, you slowed down to see what it was. Your slow down walk quickly turned into a complete stop when you realized what it was.

You watched in awe as the sky turned shades of pink and orange. "Look, the sun is rising," you exclaimed, pointing towards the horizon.

Bakugo was not that far ahead when he had heard you and stopped in his tracks to see what you were talking about. He turned around and saw the colors of the light, the pink and oranges shine onto your face and body.

You stood there entranced by the sunrise. He softly groaned as he walked back to see what you had been talking about. And when he had seen it, it made his eyes widen in awe.

The sun was slowly rising up into the blue sky, and as it did it casted a warm orange glow over the land. The sky was painted with hues of pink, purple, and gold, creating a breathtaking canvas that seemed to stretch on forever.

The tall buildings of the city seemed to be silhouetted against that beautiful backdrop. It was a sight to behold, and for a moment, you both forgot about the chaos of the city and just stood there, taking in the moment.

The two of you stood in silence for a while, lost in the beauty of the sunrise. You couldn't help but steal glances at Bakugo, admiring his features in the soft glow of the rising sun. He was always so intense and fierce and these past few days that persona had worsened, but at this moment, he looked calm and peaceful.

"Not that bad," he said with a slow nod as he stared on.

"I'll take that," you said with a chuckle. You stared in for a while until you gained the confidence of to turn and look at Bakugo. In which you found him already looking at you.

His eyes darted back at the sunrise and you couldn't help but giggle at him being so flustered. Bakugo to a deep breath out, embarrassed that he had been caught and gave up on hiding it, he turned to your direction with a small smile already plastered onto his face.

As Bakugo fully turned to you and your eyes met, you couldn't help but say, "You're smiling."

Bakugo chuckled at the comment, it was the first time you had actually heard his laughter. "I hadn't noticed," Bakugo sarcastically told you with a smile, but it hadn't felt like a rude remark back at you. It just felt different, a more appealing joke and you couldn't help but smile.

Your smile grew even more at the sight of his intense red eyes and his messy blonde hair, illuminated by the warm glow of the sun. He seemed to be studying your face, taking in every detail.

In that moment, everything around you both seemed to fade away, and it was just the two of you. You both stood there, staring at each other, taking in every detail, every emotion and during that time you and Bakugo's smile slowly disappeared.

You could feel Bakugo's eyes move from your eyes to your lips and you couldn't help but do the same. You felt your body leaning forward but Bakugo didn't stop you nor push you away, alternatively he repeated the action, your faces moving closer inch by inch.

Until, you stopped. Your face was so close to his that it made you think, What were you doing? You had to be the bigger person and stop this. He was just some anime character who would have to leave in the end. You couldn't let something that shouldn't happen weigh on you when he was gone.

You cleared your throat, pulling back. And as soon as the moment started, it disappeared. Bakugo pulled back, staring back at the sunrise and you did too. You knew the chance was gone and for a moment you regretted pulling back.

However it had to be done, you couldn't be with someone like him.
