Tae: you know, we've been together for almost a year... and I think we're sure of our feelings, well I know I am... so it's time that we meet each other's parents... if you're okay with it of course...
Y/N: Parents... Well, I guess it is kind of overdue, but why so suddenly?
Tae: I just want to meet the two people responsible for your existence, I mean it's not really sudden, I've been wanting to talk about it for a while...
Y/N: we can definitely do that, I mean my parents are coming here anyway, since it's my birthday soon...
Tae: perfect, they do know that you have a boyfriend right? I mean, it'd be weird if they didn't know...
Y/N: *playfully smacks his shoulder* of course I told them about you, i don't keep good things to myself...
Tae: I'm not good... I'm a bad boy *snickers*
Y/N: pfft... you're too silly to be a bad boy.... *chuckles*
Tae: I guess you're right...
Y/N: of course, I'm Y/N, I'm always right...
Timeskip 4 days...
Author: you both had discussed the topic of meeting each other's parents and today is the day that Mr Kim and Mrs Kim are coming to visit... of course, the meeting would take place in Tae's apartment, I mean, do you really want them to know that you guys stay with each other most nights? You were pretty scared, you were worried that they might hate you for not being Korean, and that worried you deeply...you and Tae were busy cleaning his apartment before their arrival....
Y/N: *while wiping down the counter in the kitchen* Love?
Tae: *while adjusting the pillows on the couch* mmm?
Y/N: what if they don't like me?
Tae: hey *walks up to you* don't worry... I'm sure they'll love you... *reassuring smile*
Y/N: but what if they don't...
Tae: they will, but even if they don't, just remember that my love for you is unconditional, and I won't be affected by their decisions... ok *warm hug*
Y/N: *anxious* ok... *in mind* I know his words of comfort are sincere, but I can't help but feel anxious, I mean they're his parents, not just some insignificant people. If they don't like me, life for us together will be difficult...
Author: these thoughts clouded your mind, you usually didn't care about what others thought about you being an interracial couple, but they (his parents) could make life very difficult for the two of you if you were to become Mrs Kim one day, one thing was for sure though, they could try their best to pull you apart, but you'd never let that happen...

Mrs Kim: *in the passenger's seat next to Mr Kim* Ye-Joonah, why did he have to like a foreigner, what will the rest of the family think about this... think of the shame... our family will be the centre of gossip if they get married *whining on and on*
Mr Kim: Jangmiah, she could be very nice, and does nationality really matter? I mean, we aren't living in our generation anymore, it seems like youngsters these days believe that love is love, and that race, age, height and all of the above doesn't matter anymore....
Mrs Kim: no no no.... Of course it matters... that's why we are the parents and we have to help our kids make the right decisions...
Mr Kim: but Taehyungah isn't a kid anymore, he's 20 he'll be 21 in 5months, and he can decide for himself 여보 (yeobo)
Mrs Kim: I completely disagree, he may be an adult but he still acts like a child...
Mr Kim: I think he's quite mature for his age...
Mrs Kim: you obviously are perceiving this all wrong 여보 (yeobo)... this is why God made women have children and not men... mothers know their children...
Mr Kim: *under his breath* I'm sure Taehyung would beg to differ...

Author: They were now standing at Tae's door
Mrs Kim: *to Mr Kim* knock on the door
Mr Kim: why don't you, you're closer
Mrs Kim: just do it Ye-Joon...
Mr Kim: *in mind* you know sometimes this woman gives me a bloody headache... *knocks on the door*
Y/N's POV
Y/N: I heard a knock, they must be here...
Tae: should I get the door or do you want to?
Y/N: *nervous* you do it...
Tae: ok, don't be nervous, just breathe in and out, everything will be fine, and remember, they're human just like you, so don't be intimidated...
Author: you knew those were words of comfort, but for some reason, your feelings of anxiety persisted...
Tae: *opens the door* 안녕 엄마와 아빠 (annyeong eommawa appa, Hi Mom and Dad)...
Mr and Mrs Kim: hello my son *give him a hug*
Y/N: *in mind* there they are... what should I do? I'll just stand here and wait for them to come inside...
Tae: Mom and Dad, this is Y/N *walks over to you, holds your hand, and pulls you towards them*
Y/N: *you do a quick 90-degree bow* Hello Mrs Kim and Mr Kim, it's a pleasure to meet you...
Mrs Kim: hm, yes I see that...
Mr Kim: *bumps Mrs Kim's arm, as if to say 'Jangmi stop') Hello My Dear, the pleasure is all ours... *sweet smile*

Mr Kim: *tries to lift the mood* so... who cooked lunch...
Tae: Well Dad, we actually ordered food since we're both still learning how to cook properly... 맛있게 드세요... (mashitkke deuseyo, enjoy your meal)
Mrs Kim: Are you serious... she didn't cook *points to you* HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO GET MARRIED ONE DAY IF SHE CAN'T EVEN COOK... *to you* DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD MY SON WORKS, HE CAN'T COME HOME FROM WORK AND STILL HAVE TO COOK...
Tae: *stands up abruptly* EOMMA! YOU CAN'T JU- *gets cut off by you*
Y/N: *abruptly stands up and interrupts Tae* Hey! I work hard too ok, I'm not some slave to your son, I'm his girlfriend, he doesn't treat me that way and you have no right to either. Other girls might sit quietly and take all of your bullshit but I wasn't raised to be a loser... frankly I don't care if you like me or not, all that matters is that Tae and I love each other...
Tae: *shocked but proud, holds your hand* Yes Eomma, we love each other and we won't let you get in the way...
Mrs Kim: *gobsmacked, turns to Mr Kim* Ye-Joon, are you hearing this? She's already brainwashed my baby...
Mr Kim: yes Jangmi, I heard everything *stands up* well done my boy, you've grown up well and learned how to fight for yourself *gives Tae a hug* I'm proud of you... *turns to you* well done to you too my future daughter-in-law *gives you a hug* stay strong...
Tae: thanks for supporting us Dad...
Mr Kim: thanks for making me proud all these years
Mrs Kim: Are you serious Ye-Joon! How can you condone this unacceptable behaviour...
Mr Kim: you're right Jangmi I've let this go on for too long, You can't treat the girl our son loves like this...
Mrs Kim: WHAT! ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT MY BEHAVIOUR IS OUT OF ORDER?!!
Mr Kim: Yes... we'll be leaving now, good luck to the both of you... we'll see you next time, hopefully in a better state of mind *looks at Mrs Kim with a stern look* let's go Jangmi...
Mrs Kim: *about to say something but then sees Mr Kim's stare*

Y/N: I have no idea where that came from... she probably hates me

Y/N: hey! *playfully smack his arm* You're supposed to say "No, she doesn't hate you, she just has problems"
Tae: *chuckles* you know I don't lie...
Y/N: That was a lie *smirks, walks to the door to your apartment*
Tae: *follows cheerfully after you* hey... wait for me...
