Things were not going well for the turtles and Team RWBY. In the past several hours, they have journeyed through a massive cave system, got attacked by monsters, helped some monsters, explored ancient catacombs, and then got attacked by monsters again. But the worst thing that has happened out of everything, was Donatello's sudden disappearance. And Weiss was especially taking his sudden disappearance hard.
Weiss: "DONATELLO"!
Weiss yelled as she ran to the doorway.
Weiss: "No"! "NO"! "Donnie"? "DONNIE"!
Weiss yelled as she looked around frantically for any sign of Donnie.
Leo: "Weiss, get away from there"!
The mindless monsters continued to close in on them. But as they readied themselves for a fight, a strange sound alerted Raph and made him look over to see a glowing bola flying through the air. And it was heading straight for Weiss.
Raph: "Ice Queen, get down"!
Raph yelled as he quickly ran and tackled Weiss out of the way right as the bola was about to wrap around her. But since the bola had missed Weiss, it flew to another target, which happened to be the spider monster that lunged to attack Mikey, Ruby, and Leo. Only for the bola to make contact with it, making it disappear in a flash of light the same way Donnie did.
Mikey: "Huh"?
But as that happened, the insectoid monster ran up and tackled Razorfist and pinned them to the ground. But as the two monsters were caught in a power struggle, another glowing bola came flying out of nowhere and made both monsters disappear in a flash of light.
Leo: "Razorfist"!
Ruby: "Leo, what the heck is going on"?!
Mikey: "That's what I was gonna ask"!
Suddenly, Stonebiter was tackled to the ground by the King Nail. But as they were wrestling on the ground, the King Nail suddenly raised its stinger and swung it at Stonebiter's head. Prompting them to move their head to the side as the stinger punched a hole into the ground.
Seeing this, Quarry ran to help Stonebiter only to be sent flying back by the King Nail's tail. Blake and Yang quickly ran and helped Quarry back on their feet. But as they did so, another glowing bola flew in from nowhere and while Stonebiter was struggling to push back the King Nail, the monster broke free of Stonebiter's grip. Causing them to stumble directly into the path of where the bola was headed and when it made contact, Stonebiter disappeared in a flash of light just like the others.
Yang: "Stonebiter, no"!
Mikey: "Come on you ugly troll, show me what you got"!
Mikey taunted the King Nail while twirling his nunchucks and was quickly met with a loud roar from the monster.
Mikey: "Okay, I'm impressed".
But right as Mikey said that, the cyclops monster entered the scene and roared as it joined the King Nail. Forcing the turtles, Team RWBY, and Quarry to back away.
Yang: "Great, looks like One-Eye just joined the party".
Blake: "We better go".
Leo: *nods* "Agreed". "Everyone inside, whatever's through this door can't be worse than this"!
Mikey: "I hope those don't become famous last words, Leo".
Mikey said as he, Raph, and Team RWBY back up and entered the doorway.
Leo: "Quarry, go"!
Seeing the two large monsters approaching fast, Quarry quickly ran through the doorway after the others. Leo on the other hand stayed behind and took the crystal out of the slot and the moment he did, the door started to close as Leo just barely managed to get through in time. As the door closed behind Leo, everyone looked back as they could hear the monsters trying to smash their way in. However, eventually, the banging stopped as the monsters gave up their assault.
With the threat of the monsters no longer being a problem, our heroes found themselves staring at a bright light at the end of the hall. What exactly could possibly await them there, they didn't know. But with the monsters behind them, they had no choice but to move forward.
Leo: "Be ready for anything".
Leo advised, making everyone nod as they continued to walk to the light and once they were out, none of them were ever expecting to see a massive stone city surrounded by lava with a massive glowing crystal moon hanging above it.
Ruby: "Whoa..." "All of this was underneath Vale"?!
But while everyone else was shocked at the sight of the ancient city, Quarry seemed terrified and looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but here.
Quarry: "We shouldn't be here"! "This is...this a necropolis, a city of the dead"!
Mikey: "You know, if there's one thing in monster movies, it's a city of the dead".
Yang: "City of the dead, huh"? "Funny". "If this place looked any more dead, then we'd need a coroner".
But as Leo was about to speak, Weiss suddenly stormed past him and marched right up to Quarry and stated:
Weiss: *glares* "We are not leaving"! "I don't care if this place is abandoned or haunted, we are not leaving Donnie behind"!
Raph: "I'm with the Ice Queen on this one". "We'll level this whole city just to get him back"!
Raph yelled as he slashed through the tip of a small rock formation with his.
Blake: "Hey"!
Everyone looked to see Blake peeking out from behind a corner.
Blake: "I think I found a way down there".
Mikey: *sighs* "Of course you did".
Mikey commented as he and everyone else followed after Blake. But as they did, Ruby couldn't help but look out toward to city.
Ruby: 'It looks just like the one in my dream'.
Ruby thought before she turned back and saw what looked like a stone tram attached to a crystal cable that was suspended from the nearby cliff and stretched from here, over the lava, and to the city in the distance.
Raph: "Uh, maybe we better find us a different ride".
Yang: "Why, afraid of heights, Raph"?
Raph looks off the cliff to see the lava underneath.
Raph: "It ain't the heights that I'm worried about, Goldilocks".
Blake: "But this looks to be our only way to get to the city".
Leo: "Blake's right, and besides, it looks totally fine".
Leo said as he stepped on the tram's ramp, causing it to creak and shift.
Weiss: "I think the key word here is 'looks', Leonardo".
Meanwhile, back at the tunnel, a shadowy figure wearing a hooded cloak approached the stone door. Hanging around his neck was a small crystal. He took the crystal and held it into the air where it started to glow brightly. The light produced by the crystal attracted the two monsters in the cavern and made them charge at the man. Only for him to use the crystal to open the stone door before backing into the shadows as the cyclops monster and the King Nail rushed by and headed inside the tunnel.
Leo: "Look, see".
Leo said as he walked up the ramp, making the tram slightly bounce.
Ruby: "Leo, be careful".
Leo: "Relax, Ruby, it'll hold us".
Stated Leo as he walked further in and saw a control panel where there was a slot where a crystal would fit.
Leo: "And it looks like our crystal will power it".
Weiss: "I'm still not sure about this".
Suddenly loud growl was heard from behind, prompting everyone to turn in the direction as they heard loud footsteps coming their way before the two large monsters came around the corner.
Ruby: "Everybody inside, now"!
Mikey: "You don't have to tell me twice"!
Mikey said as he and everyone boarded the tram. Once everyone was inside, Leo jammed the crystal into the control panel. Making the entry ramp close as the tram started moving. But the two monsters didn't give up as they both leaped off the cliff and landed on the roof of the tram. Causing it to shake violently and making everyone scream as they stumbled around. They then looked up in horror as the two monsters started breaking their way in.
Yang stumbled back when a giant claw tore through the roof and almost made contact with the tip of her nose.
Yang: "This thing's not gonna hold"!
Back on the cliff, the cloaked figure from before stood at the edge and watched as the monsters tried to smash the tram's roof apart. He then took two glowing bolas and threw them at the monsters. Making both disappear in a flash of light.
But even though the monsters were gone, the damage they had dealt to the tram became too much as the crystal cable snapped in two, leaving the tram to plummet to the lava below.
Leo: "Jump, NOW"!
Leo yells as he and everyone jump out of the tram just in time for it to be impaled by a giant stalagmite. Though at the speed the tram was falling, the stalagmite also tore the tram to pieces as it fell.
Thankfully though, the turtles, Team RWBY, and Quarry managed to land on solid ground safe and sound. Or so they thought as the impact from the tram smashing into it had caused the stalagmite to crack and topple over. Leaving the turtles and Team RWBY to watch in horror as the stalagmite fell on top of Quarry.
Ruby: "NO"!
Leo: "QUARRY"!
Everyone rushed to dig Quarry out of the rubble only to stop when they saw the rocks melting away because of acid. Quarry then climbed out before spitting acid at the rocks again to free his legs before jumping out and dusting themself off. But as they did so, they looked to see the turtles and Team RWBY staring at them.
Quarry: "We are designed to handle such adversity".
Yang: "Yeah...we noticed".
Now that they had made it to safety, our heroes started to make their way into the stone city. Along the way, they couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as the entire city was shrouded in mystery. The eerie atmosphere combined with how empty the city is only added to the strangeness of it all. Especially when one looks at the symbols carved into the walls.
Blake: "Those same symbols again". "Just like back at the lair".
Raph: "And by the looks of it all, this city has been down here for a very long time".
Mikey: "Creepy".
Ruby: "Ooh-wee-ooh".
Weiss: "Would you stop that"?
Leo: "Hey guys"!
Everyone looked to see Leo standing on what looked like a scooter.
Leo: "I found some transportation".
Mikey: "Of course you did".
Leo inserted his crystal into the slot on the scooter and before anyone knew it, the scooter started levitating in the air.
Yang: *whistles* "Think I can trick out Bumblebee to do that"?
Blake: "Probably, if you ask Donnie to help you".
Weiss: "...Yeah..."
Weiss simply said as she walked past them and climbed onto the scooter with Leo and held onto his shell. Leaving Blake and Yang to look at each other in confusion.
Later on, the group was rushing through the city on their new scooters. However, since there weren't enough for all of them, Team RWBY, or at least Ruby, Weiss, and Blake had to ride along with the turtles while Quarry had to ride with Yang.
Leo: "Whoever built this place, they're definitely the same people who built our lair".
Weiss: "How about we focus more on finding Donnie and less on sightseeing".
Leo: "Sure".
But as they were riding along, Yang moved her scooter closer to Mikey's and leaned in closer to whisper:
Yang: *whispers* "Hey, do you guys know what's up with Weiss"? "I don't think I've ever seen her like this before".
Mikey: *whispers* "Me neither". "You think it has something to do with Don"?
Yang: *whispers* "Probably, I mean she's been acting all weird ever since Don's disappearing act".
Mikey: *whispers* "I know". "You think they might be...you know..."
Ruby: *whispers* "Might be what"?
Yang: *whispers* "Mikey thinks that Weiss might like Donnie".
Ruby: *whispers* "Of course she likes him". "They're always together".
Yang: *whispers* "No, I mean Weiss might actually like-like him". *smirks* "Sort of like you two".
Mikey/Ruby: "WHAT"?!
Mikey and Ruby yelled before Mikey suddenly lost control of the scooter while Ruby held onto him for dear life until they finally got back under control.
Raph: "Hey, what's the story back there"?!
Mikey/Ruby: *blushes* "Nothing"!
As that was happening, Leo looked up and caught a glance of a shadowy figure back up into the shadows from the roof of a building.
Leo: "Shh"! "I think I saw something".
Blake: "What is it"?
Leo: "I'm not sure, but I think it was a person". "I'll check it out".
Weiss: "I'm coming with you". "You'll need backup in case something happens".
Blake got off Raph's scooter before joining Leo and Weiss.
Blake: "I'm coming too".
Leo: "Fine, everyone else, wait here".
Leo instructed before he rushed into the tunnel along with Weiss and Blake. Everyone else waited patiently for them outside. But when several minutes passed with no activity, Raph jumped off his scooter and headed for the tunnel.
Raph: "I'm going in"!
But suddenly, Raph was blinded by a bright flash of light and when it disappeared, he immediately ran inside.
Raph: "Guys"!
Mikey, Ruby, and Yang ran in as well and armed themselves with their weapons. But once they were inside the tunnel, they all collectively gasped in horror as they saw Leo's scooter but no sign of him, Blake, or Weiss. They were just...gone...just like Donnie.
Ruby: "No...NO"! "WEISS"!
Yang: "BLAKE"!
Raph: "LEO"!
Mikey quickly ran over and grabbed Raph and Ruby by their shoulder to get their attention.
Mikey: "Calling out like that is probably not the best idea". "They're gone, just like the others".
Yang gritted her teeth in anger as her eyes turned red.
Yang: "When I find whoever did this, they're going to wish they were never born".
With that said, Yang stormed out of the tunnel with Raph, Mikey, and Ruby following from behind. But as they came out, they noticed their scooters still levitating where they had left them...but there was no sign of Quarry.
Ruby: "Uh...Quarry"?
A noise from behind causes them all to jump and scream in fear as they all turn around with their weapons ready.
Quarry: "Wait, it's just me"!
Raph: "What are you doing lurking around like that"?!
Quarry: "Hiding". "You...you left me all alone".
Ruby: "We're sorry, we just had to see if our friends were okay and..."
Ruby looks down sadly because of how Leo, Weiss, and Blake had disappeared and they weren't able to do anything to stop it from happening. If they had just gone in all together instead of splitting up the group...
Mikey: "Man, mutate some backbone, would you"?
Quarry: *points* "There it is"!
Mikey screamed while everyone else got into a fighting stance as they all looked to see a cloaked figure staring at them.
The cloaked figure then turned away and disappeared into the fog.
Yang: "I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna go get some answers out of whoever that is".
Raph: I'm with you, Goldilocks, climb on"!
Raph yelled as Yang joined him on a scooter and they both rushed off and soon disappeared into the fog. But as Mikey and Ruby stood where they were, they saw two flashes of light in the distance.
Mikey: "Raph"?!
Ruby: "Yang"?!
When they received no answer, Mikey and Ruby looked at each other in worry.
Mikey: "We better go look for them".
Ruby: *nods* "Right, Quarry-..." "Quarry"?
Mikey looked behind him as he and Ruby made deadpan expressions as they both pulled Quarry out of the shadows.
Getting back on their scooters, they rushed off to where they last saw Raph and Yang. Only to see the scooter they had used, but they were nowhere in sight.
Mikey: "Not good, Raph and Yang are gone too"!
Ruby: "Why is this happening"?! "What in the world is taking them"?!
Quarry: "I warned you, I warned you all". "Evil dwells in this dead city". "We'll never get out alive"!
Mikey slaps Quarry across the face before declaring:
Mikey: "Look, if there's gonna be any hysterics around here, I'll have 'em"! *looks up* "Like right now...'cause...I see it"!
Exclaimed Mikey as he pointed up at the cloaked figure staring down at them. Upon seeing this, Mikey and Ruby immediately got onto their respective scooters and drove off...only to come back seconds later when they realized they had forgotten Quarry. The two gave them a sheepish look as Quarry climbed onto Mikey's scooter.
However, Quarry was not prepared as Mikey and Ruby rushed off and drove up a ramp headed straight for the cloaked figure, making them freak out and pleading for them to wait.
Quarry: "No, no, I can't"!
Quarry yelled as they jumped off Mikey's scooter while screaming the word "no".
Ruby: "Quarry, no"!
While Quarry crashed onto a stone bridge, Mikey and Ruby continued to ride up the ramp only to realize that they were going too fast as they both flew over the figure and saw that they were going to crash into the side of a pillar.
Seeing this, Ruby used her semblance to quickly dash away from her scooter, grab Mikey, and quickly get away just in time as their scooters exploded upon crashing into the pillar. But when they thought they were in the clear, they ended up crashing into a wall before finding themselves rolling down the slope of the building they had crashed into until they finally reached the bottom where they landed hard on the ground on their backs.
Ruby: *groans* "I never wanna do that again".
Mikey: *groans* "No argument here".
Meanwhile, Quarry was looking down at them from the stone bridge when the sound of footsteps caught their attention. Quarry looked to the right to see the cloaked figure coming up the stairs before stopping when he spotted them. Quarry gasped as the figure reached into his cloak and pulled out a glowing bola.
Quarry: "No, NO"!
Yelled Quarry as they made a run for it. But it was all in vain as the figure threw the bola which quickly ensnared Quarry and made them disappear in a flash of light.
Elsewhere, Quarry suddenly reappeared on a raised circular platform. Quarry looked around confused before a crystal dome suddenly formed around them, trapping Quarry inside as a liquid substance started filling the container.
Quarry: "No"!
Quarry yelled before the entire container was filled up and Quarry's body was frozen in place. Unable to do anything as their body became encased in crystal. And by the time the process was done, Quarry was left frozen in place inside the crystal cocoon. And in their final moments of consciousness, Quarry screamed. Their voice echoed throughout the city to the point that Mikey and Ruby could hear them.
Mikey: "Quarry"?
Ruby: "...I guess it's just us".
They looked around before Ruby spotted a giant tower in the center of the city. A tower that they both instantly recognized.
Mikey: "Okay, you I've seen before".
Ruby: "Did you see it in a dream"?
Mikey: "Yeah, I-...wait...how did you know"?
Ruby: "I had the same dream you had"!
Mikey: "No way, it must be a coincidence". "In my dream, I was-"
Mikey/Ruby: "With you". "And we were attacked at that tower".
Mikey widened his eyes in shock.
Mikey: "Wow...I guess we really did have the same dream".
Ruby: "Which means we should be heading there right now". "The others might be there".
Mikey: "Yeah, let's go to the big scary...creepy...menacing-looking...tower".
Ruby looked at Mikey's expression and could immediately tell that he was scared. She walked up and took his hand. Making him calm down and look at her.
Ruby: "It's okay to be scared".
Mikey: "Heh, yeah, I guess I've pretty much been nothing but a big scaredy cat this whole trip". "Pretty lame and pathetic of me, huh"?
Ruby: "No, you're not lame, Mikey". "I'm scared too".
Mikey: "Wait, what"?!
Ruby: "Do you really think you're the only one that's been scared on this whole adventure"? "I was terrified when we first met Quarry and the others". "I was scared of coming down here just like you were". "And I'm scared to go into that tower".
Mikey: "But I haven't seen you afraid at all"! "You were perfectly calm for almost every monster encounter we had"! "How could you have possibly been scared"?!
Ruby: "Easy, I just focus on the task at hand". "That way, I can still fight and help everyone even when I'm scared". "It's like...I focus my mind on something else instead of how I am feeling at the moment". "It's all so I can keep a cool head so I can lead my team".
Mikey stared at Ruby for a few seconds.
Mikey: "Heh, I guess they're teaching you quite a lot up in Beacon, huh"?
Ruby: "Actually, Leo was the one that taught me that". "He's been like a mentor to me". "Teaching me how to be a more effective leader and a whole lot of other stuff". "Like hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship". "He's like a teacher, a best friend, and a big brother all rolled into one".
Mikey: "Yeah, Leo's always been the one watching our backs".
Ruby: "Exactly, but right now, Leo and everyone else need our help". "So, instead of focusing on how scared we are, let's focus on saving our family instead".
Ruby squeezed Mikey's hand as he stared at her confident expression and returned one of his own. He squeezed Ruby's hand as they both nodded and headed straight for the tower.
Mikey: "Creepy tower, here we come"!
Ruby: "Yeah"!
After a bit of time, Mikey and Ruby eventually made it to the tower and quickly headed inside. But as they turned the corner, they both screamed at the sight of the large spider monster which was...frozen?
Mikey and Ruby looked at each other in confusion as Mikey reached out and touched the chrysalis that felt like a solid crystal. They then looked over to their right only to spot someone very familiar.
Mikey: "Razorfist"?
Ruby then turned around only to spot:
Ruby: *gasps* "Stonebiter"!
Mikey and Ruby walked through the room of frozen monsters. Looking at each and every one of them until they spotted:
Mikey: "Quarry"?
They walked up to Quarry's frozen form and gave a look of sorrow at the fate of their friend. They didn't know Quarry, Razorfist, or Stonebiter for long, but they were still people they cared about.
Ruby: "Quarry..."
Mikey looked down at a glowing crystal that was attached to the base of the podium and reached down to touch it. Only to be interrupted by a sudden unfamiliar voice.
???: "No"!
Mikey and Ruby looked to see that same cloaked figure from before.
???: "Please, do not touch that". "I am not finished with him".
The stranger said as he continued making his way down the stairs. But Mikey and Ruby didn't care about whatever he was doing as they both glared at him.
Mikey: "Yeah you are"!
Mikey declared as Ruby grabbed him and, with her semblance, warped them both to the stranger at high speed and simultaneously kicked him. Their momentum caused the man to be sent flying into the wall, cracking it in the process.
Mikey and Ruby quickly ran up and removed his hood to reveal his face.
Though his appearance shocked them, they quickly got over it because there was something more important than judging how he looked.
Mikey: "Okay baldy, where are my brothers"?!
Ruby: "And my teammates"!
Leo: "Mikey, Ruby"!
Mikey and Ruby widened their eyes in shock as they looked over to see Leo, Donnie, Raph, Weiss, Blake, and Yang standing in the doorway safe and unharmed.
Leo: "About time you guys got here". "We've been waiting for you".
Mikey/Ruby: "Huh/What"?
Later on, the High Mage led the turtles and Team RWBY into a large chamber.
Leo: "We had this guy figured all wrong".
Donnie: "Yeah". "He saw how the Foot had mutated Quarry and the others and he just wants to turn them back to normal".
Blake: "That's why he was capturing Quarry, Razorfist, Stonebiter, and all the other monsters".
Weiss: *mumbles* "Still doesn't excuse him for kidnapping us, though".
The turtles and Team RWBY sat down on stone chairs as the High Mage started explaining how all the monsters were being cured of their mutations.
High Mage: "As we speak, the power of the cavern's crystal moon is infusing them with regenerative energy". "Their bodies are being genetically rebuilt inside each chrysalis". "Within minutes, the last of them will be restored to their original human or Faunus form".
Mikey: "Thank you so much for clearing that up"! *whispers* "He's lying".
High Mage: "Michelangelo, you're entirely safe, I assure you".
He said as he touched his crystal, causing it to start glowing as he then turned to a large green crystal mounted to the wall. Everyone else then turns to the crystal as well and walks up to it.
High Mage: "Of which I am the sole survivor". "We have lived within the earth for many millennia". "Spiritually bonded with it". "It was a symbiosis that had always sustained us".
As the High Mage was explaining the story of his people, the green crystal on the wall showed the ancient city when it was populated.
High Mage: "For we were unable to endure the harshness of the outside world".
The image in the crystal then cleared before showing several mages observing the lives of humans and Faunus.
High Mage: "Then, we detected life stirring on the surface". "These new life forms fascinated us, so we began studying them from an outpost". "The same outpost that most recently became your home". "As the years passed, however, it soon became evident that our own time was drawing to a close".
One by one the mages begin to disappear before the viewing is switched back to the city where it was shown to be empty.
High Mage: "Yes". "The World of Remnant had cast its vote and our entire race faced extinction".
With that, the history video was over as the turtles and Team RWBY turned their attention back to the High Mage.
High Mage: "They're all gone now".
Donnie: "How long has it been"?
High Mage: "Long enough to make this a very lonely existence". "Which is why I want to return those people back to normal". "Only then can they help me repopulate the city".
The turtles and Team RWBY looked at each other at that.
Blake: "I wouldn't say that's likely to happen". "They all have lives waiting for them on the surface". "They have families and friends that no doubt miss them and would want them to return".
High Mage: "NO"! "They will stay"! "They must"!
Yang: "Whoa, calm down"! "I'm sure they'd be grateful for what you did for them but-"
High Mage: "I refuse to let this city die"! "There's so much to pass on"! "They must stay, and so must you".
Weiss: "Excuse me"?
Donnie: "Uh...I'm afraid that being...uh...all alone down here for so long has driven this guy slightly around the bend".
Weiss: "Slightly"?
Leo: "We...um...appreciate the invitation to live here with you in this wondrous world of yours, but-"
High Mage: "Yes". "It is wondrous, a world where even mutant turtles can freely walk the streets". "No more lurking in sewers". "No more hiding your faces". "An entire city where it does not matter if you are human, Faunus, or mutant, you will all be free to be yourselves".
Weiss: "Um...as enticing as that sounds-"
Raph: "Let me put it this way: there's no way we're relocating to this creepoid community, understand"?
Yang: "Yeah, we're not gonna be leaving our friends and family to live here". "Come on, guys, let's go free Quarry and the others".
The turtles, Ruby, Weiss, and Blake all nodded in agreement as they all followed Yang to the exit. However, it would seem as though the Mage was not going to let them go as he used his crystal to shut the doors. Trapping the turtles and Team RWBY inside the chamber. They all turned around and glared at him.
Leo: "Trust me, you do not want to do this".
High Mage: "No, heed my offer, for my bond with the earth is strong".
He stated as the room started shaking violently before a large stone spire rose up from the ground. In response, the turtles and Team RWBY immediately ran to a wall and jumped off it just in time to dodge the spire as it struck the ground where they were standing.
Upon landing, Donnie hurled his bo staff at the mage but his weapon was blocked by a stone tentacle which was then used to capture Donnie. Leo was running around the chamber trying to flank the mage to catch him by surprise. Only for a piece of the floor to lift up and make him trip over and crash into the wall where stone tentacles grew out and tied him up.
Weiss and Blake rushed at the Mage together as Weiss summoned two glyphs. Giving herself and Blake a boost of speed as they rushed at their opponent. But as they swung their weapons, they found their arms and legs become immobilized by stone tentacles and were forced to the ground before a stone pillar shot out of the ground and sent them both flying upward where they were then tied to the ceiling.
Weiss attempted to summon a glyph only for a stone pillar to suddenly shoot out and crush her hand, making her drop her rapier.
Raph and Yang charged at the mage together only for the two of them to be grabbed. Raph's arms and legs were trapped in the ground while Yang's limbs were trapped in the wall. Both of them struggled to get out but to no avail.
Mikey and Ruby, with Ruby's semblance, rushed at the Mage and rematerialized at the last second to drop-kick him together. Only for the Mage to use his crystal to make three crystal-topped spears fly off the wall and strike Mikey and Ruby out of the air. The two groaned as they helped each other stand up before seeing that they were the only ones left.
Mikey: "You guys sure are a lot of help".
Mikey said sarcastically as he and Ruby ran away as the crystal-topped spears came after them.
Donnie: "Just get his amulet, guys"! "That's how he's controlling everything"!
Donnie yelled as Mikey and Ruby ran by.
Mikey: "Before or after he bludgeons us with those things"?!
Leo: "Preferably before".
Ruby: "Working on it, Leo"!
Ruby yelled as she and Mikey ran past him before they both split into two directions. The spears in turn spit as well and when they got close, Mikey and Ruby took the chance to parry the spears, sending them flying at the Mage and striking the amulet. Sending it flying to the floor and once it was out of the Mage's hands, all of the crystal-topped spears fell to the ground.
Mikey, Ruby, and the Mage spotted the crystal on the ground and all three of them ran and dove for it. All of them grabbed the crystal but ended up sending each other crashing through the wall that became cracked after Mikey and Ruby had kicked the Mage into it from earlier.
Mikey and Ruby groaned before they spotted a glowing bola on the ground. They both looked at each other and nodded after a plan formulated in their heads.
The Mage knelt down and retrieved his crystal when suddenly-
Ruby: "Hey"!
Ruby yelled, getting the Mage's attention as she finished switching out her Dust ammunition, took aim, and shot the Mage's crystal. The moment the crystal was shot, it reacted to the Lightning Dust. Absorbing its energy before the crystal's color changed to yellow before it caused an explosion of electricity. Electrocuting the Mage and making him yell in pain.
Mikey: "Time to put you on ice"!
Mikey declared as he threw the glowing bola at the Mage, making him disappear in a flash of light before reappearing on one of the circular platforms where he was quickly encased and frozen in a chrysalis.
Once the High Mage was dealt with, Mikey and Ruby went back and used their weapons to free everyone.
Leo: "Thanks for the save, guys".
Leo thanked Mikey and Ruby as everyone left the chamber and entered the room where the monsters were trapped.
Mikey: "Not one for the highlight reel though". "I mean, the guy wasn't evil, just lonely, and who can blame him"?
Mikey said as he and everyone looked up at the now-frozen Mage while Donnie, Raph, and Yang walked over to Quarry's chrysalis.
Raph: "Okay, let's find something heavy and crack these puppies open".
Yang: "Or I can just bust 'em out the Yang way".
Says Yang as she slams her fist into her palm only for Donnie to stop the two of them.
Donnie: "Actually, no blunt force required". "I believe this crystal is the release".
Donnie informed as he turned the crystal mounted on the platform. The moment he did so, the crystal started glowing as smoke rose out from the platform and covered Quarry's body, and not long after, the chrysalis broke apart.
Leo: "Quarry"?
When the smoke cleared, everyone widened their eyes in shock and quickly covered their eyes when they saw Quarry's human form.
Mikey: "You're a girl"!
Quarry: "I'm...back to normal"!
Donnie: "Come on, let's go free the others".
Weiss: "While you're doing that, we'll go see if we can find some clothes from them".
It wasn't long before all of the monsters were freed and returned to their original forms. Now all that was left was to make the trip back to the surface.
Donnie: "Well, that's all of them".
However, the turtles and Team RWBY were suddenly caught off-guard when the sound of yelling was heard. Prompting them to run up and move past the people only to see the man that used to be Stonebiter mutating into a monster again. Upon seeing this, the turtles and Team RWBY immediately ran up and pulled the man back where he changed back to human.
Quarry: "He...He reverted back just as he stepped out of the cavern". "Why"?
Donnie thought for a minute when he suddenly remembered something that the Mage had said.
High Mage: "As we speak, the power of the cavern's crystal moon is infusing them with regenerative energy".
Having recognized where the problem lay, Donnie guided everyone back into the cavern.
Donnie: *points* "There, I think that's the cause".
Says Donnie as he points up at the crystal moon hanging on the cavern's ceiling.
Donnie: "Remember"? "He said it provides regenerative energy". "Stray too far from it, and it seems the effects reverse themselves".
Quarry: "Then, we can't leave his city"? "I don't believe it". "He got what he wanted after all".
Quarry said gravely as everyone looked down sadly.
Leo: "We'll figure this all out".
Ruby: "Yeah, we can stay and help". "And Donnie's pretty good with-"
Quarry: "No, we can't let you stay". "Who knows how long it will take".
Quarry said as she looked to the others like her who also nodded in agreement.
Blake: "But we can't just leave you all here".
Quarry: "Please...you have your own lives to get back to". "Believe me, if the solution is here, we'll find it".
The turtles and Team RWBY looked at each other before giving Quarry and the others a determined look.
Donnie: "I'll keep studying the crystals". "We can beat this".
Ruby: "We won't stop until we find a cure for you".
Leo: "And once we do, we'll be back".
Weiss: "And we will get all of you back home".
Raph: "That's a promise".
Quarry: "...Thank you"
Later on, the turtles and Team RWBY were back in the sewers and were on their way back to the lair. However, they were still dejected because of what happened. And who can blame them? Being forced to leave Quarry and the others trapped down there in that city when they had lives they had to go back to. It just didn't feel right.
But suddenly, their thoughts were interrupted when they heard a loud clanking sound ahead of them and immediately ran and hid in the shadows in a side tunnel. They waited with bated breath until several flashlights appeared in their view followed by dozens of Foot ninjas running past their hiding spot.
Leo: *whispers* "Foot ninjas"?
Raph: *whispers* "What are they doing down here"?
Blake: *whispers* "And more importantly, why"?
But suddenly, a hand grabbed Mikey's shoulder and turned him around before another hand covered his mouth to prevent him from making any noise.
Splinter: "Shh".
Mikey: "What"? "I'm the only screamer"? "You had to cover just my mouth"?
Weiss: "Master Splinter, what is going on"?
Splinter: "I do not know" "But I believe the Foot are searching the sewers for us". "They are everywhere".
Raph: "You gotta be kidding me".
Splinter: "We cannot reach the lair undetected". "We must find a new place to stay, and fast".
Yang: "I mean, we'd offer to let you guys stay with us, but I don't think Beacon is a good option since, you know, founded by Shredder and stuff".
Mikey: "Hey, I know just the place".
Before anyone knew it, they were all standing outside of April's shop as the woman herself opened to door to see them.
Mikey: "Hey April, good to see you".
Mikey greeted as he walked in along with the others.
Yang: "Nice mud mask, girl".
Leo: "Mind if we bunk upstairs in your apartment for a while".
Blake: "We promise not to be a bother".
Raph: "Hey, what's to eat"?
Ruby: "Sleepover, YAY"!
Donnie: "You got digital cable, right"?
Weiss: "Thank you for your hospitality".
April watched each of them walk inside before flinching at the sound of something breaking followed by Mikey apologizing before turning her attention to Master Splinter.
Splinter: "Miss O'Neil, your hospitality is very much appreciated".
Said Splinter as he walked inside, leaving April standing there looking confused as to why she suddenly had nine house guests.
However, back underground in the ancient city, there was a hidden chamber underneath the city's central tower. Inside was a monster that looked a bit like how Quarry used to but with red skin instead of blue. Its hair was entirely black with some red coloration on the end.
It was frozen in place in a chrysalis. However, there was a small crack in the chrysalis which became bigger when a pebble fell from the ceiling and struck it. But when that happened, the monster inside began to stir before its eyelids opened to reveal a pair of bright silver eyes.
