As Asta woke up, he looked around for any clue that would give off where he was at. 'Where am I?.....damn it! This is bad.' Sally looked up to see Asta being fully awake from his slumber.
"Oh? So your awake! You should help me convince them to let me study you and your Grimoire! I want to do experiments and dissect every inch of your body!!"
Asta stared at her awkwardly, not know what the hell he should do.
As the eye of the midnight sun began entering their hideout, one of them spoke loudly. "Hey, we should've killed that girl too."
"You idiot, we were supposed to bring her to Lord Licht!"
"Yeah, but I kinda like her! She was really pretty and had strong mana too! I could've dissected her too you know...." Sally said disappointed
"Enough. We can just retrieve her afterwards, but for now, we need to focus on the peasant brat that we have." The man with spacial magic said tiredly
As they continued to walk, they were faced with a man they never knew they would come across. Someone they knew, they wouldn't stand a chance against with no matter the number of help they got.
"Hi there. I've been waiting for you."
"W-Wha-!"
"Oohh!"
"H-He is... The wizard king, Julius Novachrono!"
Julius stood in front of them with a smile on his face, although he smiled, it took everything in Julius to not kill all of them right then and there. After he heard about them wanting to kill his daughter, anger filled with in him.
"So, how was the royal capital? I overheard you wanted to take and kill my daughter...You know, hurting my daughter is a grave mistake that should not be let a slide." Julius said, a fake friendly smile upon his face, readying to take and kill them
"Kill him!"
Before they could react, Julius had already killed two of the white cloaked mages, not a sign of regret on his face.
The white cloaked mages stood shocked, frozen in their places.
"I-Impossible-?"
"I killed them." Julius said with a smirk on his face, "It would've been too difficult with your numbers...restraining all of you, I mean."
The numbered mages tried to attack, only to fail miserably
"You all hurt my daughter, right? You didn't actually think you would get away without being ready to die yourselves, did you?"
"You all are quite skilled in your own way, how about one of you, surrenders and the other dies. It'll be first come, first served. What do you think?"
"Don't underestimate us!" As they began throwing attacks at him, the wizard king had dodged every single one of the spells.
Time binding magic: chrono stasis
Once the binding magic has been done, Asta was set free
"Hey, Asta."
Asta stared at him, shocked and surprised, his eyes lit up full of gleam as he stood up.
Julius smiled at Asta and walked past him, "All of you had some interesting magic. I was surprised. Now then, I want address this thing to you all. What are these jewels and this stone slab for?" Julius said, pointing towards a stone fitted with jewels in place
As Julius was about to take the white cloaked mages to the kingdom, an unknown man stood on the stone slab, light emitting all around the unknown figure.
At the Clover Kingdom....
As Fuegoleon laid in his bed, currently being aided by recovery mages, the magic knight were outside on standby...
"Fuegoleon...Leopold..." mimosa breathed
"I hope they wake up soon." Sol said standing beside her captain "Indeed."
A member of the golden damn stepped forward, "We have strengthened the barrier and repaired the communication spells." He informed
Noelle and mimosa looked down, saddened when they remembered Asta
Klaus notice the two girls and looked away, "Asta wouldn't die that easily! Curse you, I'm going to punch you when I get back." Klaus said, secretly concerned for his safety
Lucrezia looked down at the ground, fighting the urge to not punch the wall she was leaning on, 'How could I have let this happen?! If only I had enough mana... the situation could have been done better... I hate this... I hate myself for this. Asta is gone and Captain Fuegoleon is injured heavily'
Daileula noticed the look upon Lucrezia's face. "There was nothing we could've done, Lucrezia. You did everything you could. Because of your magic and quick thinking, the situation has settled in quickly. You are part of the reason why this kingdom hasn't been completely destroyed. You are the reason hundreds and hundreds of citizens aren't injured....You are the reason Fuegoleons arm have healed quickly. Although he is in a coma, you were able to stop his arm from bleeding fatally."
Lucrezia looked up at Daileula shocked, she saw turned to Dion, who had his lips perked up slightly, giving the young girl an encouraging smile. "Dumbass."
Lucrezia's smile altered, she gave him a glare and kicked his shin. As she was about to punch Dion, she felt a familiar mana form through the area where the group of mages stood.
"Hey, everyone. Great work." Julius said cheerfully with a smile rested on his face
"Huh? T-The Wizard King?"
"Asta?!"
"H-Hey, guys. Looks like you're all here." Asta said, sweat drops forming on his head as he is being carried be the well know Wizard King
Asta was let down from his hold as he looked at the two worried royals with a chilled look on his face.
Mimosas eyes sparked with happiness as she gazed happily upon Asta. Noelle on the other hand darted her eyes away from Asta. She had a small twinkle in her eyes as she squeezed her eyes shut.
"Hmph! It's because you're always so reckless. I hope you learned your lesson, stupidsta."
"Thank goodness-!"
"ASTA! You're safe! Oh Asta, I'm so glad you're alive!!" Klaus yelled loudly, hugging him tight
"I thought you said you were gonna smack him or something." Daileula said to Klaus with a 'wtf' look
Julius turned his head towards to Daileula, who spoke. He saw the group of teenagers near a wall with his daughter set in the middle, Daileula was to Lucrezia right, and Dion to her left.
Dion looked at his sister and smirked ,"Then maybe you should hit him Daileula."
Daileula looked at Dion with an annoyed look on her face,
"I never even said that you idiot."
"Did I say you said that?"
"You implied it!"
"That doesn't mean I said it dumbass!"
'Great. They're back to arguing again.' Lucrezia thought with an exhaustive look upon her face. 'Just how many time will they keep uselessly argue?'
As the two argued, Julius stared at Lucrezia with a solemn look on his face. 'Sooner or later I'll have to tell her... it has already been a year since she got to the capital'. But his thoughts were interrupted when he heard a smack, a very loud one to be exact. He turned his head to the direction where he heard the loud smack came from.
"....."
"....."
"...."
"Did you just smack us in the head with your Grimoire, Lucrezia...?"
"Yeah....and I'll do it again..."
Julius smiled and chuckled softly at the sight
Flashback to when Julius was taking Asta back to the clover kingdom....
As Asta and Julius stood in the building where the eye of the midnight sun supposedly resided, Julius got a call from his advisor.
"I finally got through. Just where even are you, wizard king." Marx said with relief
"Hello there, Marx. Sorry about that. I've been busy, so I blocked the communication spell." Julius said happily
"Forget that. Please make your way to the medical ward."
Julius had a serious look on his face, "Of course, I'll be right there."
"Come on Asta, we should head back now." Julius said with a smile
"O-Oh, right-EH?!"
Before Asta could react, Julius had already carried Asta in his arm as he laughed at Asta's shocked face.
As they made their way back to the Clover kingdom, Asta couldn't help but ask a question that stuck to his mind.
"U-Um, wizard king?"
"Yes?" Julius said with a friendly smile
"....I didn't know you had a daughter.... What's her name?" Asta asked with a hopeful smile on his face
Julius face altered slightly in sadness, but kept it in, "Yes, I do have a daughter!"
Asta looked around to him happily, "Would you mind telling me her name?!"
Julius dodged the question, "How about I tell you another time?"
"REALLY?!"
"Of course Asta."
"Thank you very much!"
Before Asta knew it, they were already at the kingdom
"Ah, I see. Despite how strong Fuegoleon is, we aren't sure when he will wake up. That was a miscalculation on my part..."
Lucrezia wanted to say something, but no words came out of her mouth. Charlotte had saw this and quickly said something to stop Lucrezia from blaming herself.
"No, this was due to our inexperienced. We've confirmed the pendant Fuegoleon was wearing is now missing."
Julius looked at Charlotte, "Pendant?"
Lucrezia looked up, "Could that be what they were after? What in the world are the even trying to do...."
Julius looked at Lucrezia, "From what they said, they appear to be a terrorist group who has a grudge against the clover kingdom."
Lucrezia looked down.
"We'll gather details from our captives later. In any case, we must keep peace in this kingdom."
"Yes sir-!"
"If you'll excuse us." Everyone looked at the Silva siblings as they walked off.
"Has the enemy awakened not a sleeping lion, but a sleeping hawk?" Julius said staring at Nozel, but his eye turn its gaze to Lucrezia, who had the same look on her face as Nozel did.
'Pathetic. What an appalling spectacle.'
'How pitiful. This is just annoying'
'Never let this happen again, Nozel.'
'Don't ever make such a foolish mistake again, Lucrezia'
'Fuegoleon, I will find the scum who did this to you and slay them myself''
'Captain Fuegoleon, I will find the one who did this to you, and have them personally dealt with myself.'
"We will become stronger to protect our kingdom more efficiently, sir." Lucrezia said with a determined gaze.
Julius smiled at Lucrezia softly. He was about to say something when...
"I'm the one who will become the strongest, Zia!"
"Oh would ya look at that, seems like the cub is awake." Dion said with a smirk
Lucrezia removed herself from the wall she was leaning on to get a better look at Leo.
"Idiot, you need to rest. What are you trying to pull by getting out of bed looking like a mess."
Leo ignored her, "Asta, I'm glad both of us pulled through! You must get stronger with me as my rival!"
Asta smiled as he saw leopold give his oath to be become king.
"If you will excuse all of us, but we must get going." Charlotte said
Julius nodded his head in affirmation and the rest of the knights have left.
As Asta and Leo argued from afar Daileula and Dion had to see their captain.
"Well since everyone is going, I guess I'll go as well. I'm gonna go see our Captain." Dion said as he waved a lazily goodbye
"Yeah. Same. I'm hella tired so I'm gonna go rest. Bye Zia. Love ya girly." Daileula said as she hugged her by the side as Lucrezia pat her friends arm.
Now all that's left of the group is Julius and Lucrezia's.
Julius stared at Lucrezia, seeing the solemn look on her face broke his heart
"Lucrezia, I understand your feelings right now are a bit sensitive, but please listen. This isn't your fault. None of it was. I was given word that you healed almost up to a hundred citizens of our kingdom, and greater yet, you still had enough mana to get rid of our enemies and still managed to heal Fuegoleon. You did everything you could and that's all that matters. So please, never blame yourself for things that couldn't be done."
Lucrezia practically twisted her head at him, a surprised look rested on her face, but soon smiled and gave him a nod.
"Thank you sir. I'm glad you got that through my head." Lucrezia softly chuckled
Julius smiled at her.
"Lucrezia, an urgent matter has occurred and I'd need for you to stop by my office. It's quite important, you see."
Lucrezia looked at him, "Of course....is everything alright, sir?"
".....Sort of... just stop by for a moment, yeah?"
Lucrezia gave him a nod, then excused herself to go and rest.
