¤ (Y/n)'s Point Of View ¤

I rushed back to the apartment and made it inside with 20 minutes to spare. I actually hadn't been in this apartment for a while- over a week or so. It was a fairly fancy but a modern apartment, decorated in differnt shades or grey and white. The floors were marble and the windows as high as the ceiling. Nanami moved apartment the moment he signed my adoption papers so that he could move to a more 'child-friendly environment'.

The first thing I done was get into the shower to wash off the sewer smell from my clothes and skin. I spent 10 minutes in the shower and the other 10 in my room getting changed into a new set of clothes. The moment I had finally gotten changed, I heard the door unlock. When Nanami said he would be home at 7, he always meant it. Nanami was always dot on time, he never enjoyed being early and definitely did not enjoy being late.

Nanami walked through the door with confidence, while Yuuji stumbled in tiredly behind him. I couldn't say I wasn't surpised seeing Yuuji here. I didn't think Kento would ever willingly invite Yuuji here after work hours. Yuuji looked exhausted after today's mission, a few cuts on his cheeks proving his hard work. The boy could barely keep himself up but the moment he was in the apartment and Kento closed the door behind him, Yuuji's eyes finally landed on the interior of the apartment.

Yuuji had never been to mine and Nanami's apartment, everytime we had sleepovers we'd sleep at his place because before this Sukuna buisness, Nanami had no interest in meeting Yuuji. It wasn't personal. After all, he had never officially met Yuuji then. Kento just didn't have any interest to know or see the boy that his daughter was getting intimate with. It was uncomfortable for him. But now, it wasn't up to him anymore- which is why it suprised me that Nanami invited Yuuji back to our apartment for dinner.

"Woah! This is where you live!?" Yuuji exclaimed loudly with suprise, twirling around on the spot as his eyes flickered around the room. I leaned on my bedroom door frame as I watched Yuuji with a small smile, finding his reaction adorable to say the least.
"It's so fancy!" Yuuji gasped with shock. Nanami ignored Yuuji's childish exclaims as he put his keys on the dish beside the door. The blonde then walked around Yuuji as he shrugged off his grey blazer.

"I would say make yourself at home...but please don't." Nanami grumbled, Yuuji barely even paying attention to the comment as he wondered forward into the living room with curiousity. Nanami then hung up his blazer on the coat hanger before walking over to me, probably having realised that I was standing there from the moment he came in with Yuuji hot on his tail.
"Did you get some sleep, (Y/n)?" Kento asked as he unbuttoned two of his shirt's buttons.

"Yep. Four long hours." I replied cheerfully, forcing myself not to be reminded of how I got that sleep or what I remembered during those four hours- or Megumi's conversation with me after I woke up. I would push it away for now.
"Only four? Surely I gave you longer than that?" Nanami asked with confusion.
"I took a shower and made some tea also." I told him, lying about the tea part but the more excuses the better.

"I see." He mumbled as he slipped off his glasses and put them on the cupboard in the hallway.
"You need to remember that sleep is important, (Y/n). Without it, you're a body without drive." Nanami told me as he rolled up his sleeves. I nodded in reply, my eyes flickering to Yuuji who was now looking out the cieling high windows with pure awe.

"I'll get started on dinner. Do you have any preference for tonight's meal? We haven't dined together for a while." Nanami asked as he took a step toward's the kitchen.
"I've been craving your katsu curry recently?" I suggested, him noding stoically in response.
"Katsu curry it is then." He replied as he turned on his heel and began walking into the kicthen.

"Oh, and Ken?" I called out, him stopping his advances so that he could turn around to face me with a questioning hum. That's when I pointed at Yuuji who was now feeling smoothness of the red velvet curtains beneath his fingertips.
"I'm suprised you invited him." I admitted, having expected him to escort Yuuju back to the basement the moment the mission was over.

Nanami's eyes followed my finger, briefly looking at Yuuji before sighing deeply in what seemed like regret.
"I didn't want to. But it was the polite thing to do." He admitted, making me laugh softly in amusement because that was a very generic response foe him.
"Thank you." I replied with a smile, greatful that he was putting an effort in for me. It was easy to forget what he had said about Yuuji this morning- that he didn't believe that he was part of my future.

Nanami then walked into the kitchen to get started on dinner, closing the door behind him. I then kicked myself off the doorframe as I began to make my way to Yuuji who was now playing with the marbles on a dish at the coffee table, mainly for decoration. Yuuji didn't realise that I was there untill I sat beside him, making him beam at me happily. He seemed to have forgotten how tored he was just a few minutes ago.

"Hey, Yuu...how was your mission?" I asked him softly, trying to hide the nervousness in my voice. I still remembered the look dissapointment Yuuji had given me when he found out I hadn't been sleeping- that I had been lying to him for a long time.
"It was crazy!" He gushed, turning around early to face me on the sofa. I chuckled at his enthusiasm.
"Yeah?" I asked him with amusement.

"Yeah! So we went to a movie theatre- the same one we had our second date at! And it had a completely different vibe! It was all dark and gloomy and then we found-" I nodded along as Yuuji told his story, listening half-heartedly. I wanted to give him my full attention, but how could I when all I could think about was the look he gave me earlier today and how hurt he seemed.

"(Y/n), are you okay?" Yuuji then asked, noticing that I seemed distracted as he told the whole of his story. I wanted to say yes and ask him to continue, but I know if I did then I'd feel this way for the rest of the day. I should just spit it out.
"Yuu..." I began softly, the tone of my voice making his brows furrow deeply with worry.

"Are you mad with me?" I asked him hesitantly, my voice quiet as a mouse. Yuuji paused for a moment before sighing, the mature side of him now seeming to make an appearance as he leaned back. I could tell distinctly by the way his lips pursed.
"That you've been hiding that you haven't been sleeping from me? Or the fact that you're suffering with nightmares which I also didn't know about?" Yuuji asked me, making me avert my eyes to my lap.
"Both." I mumbled shamefully.

"At first I was mad...and really hurt that you felt that you couldn't tell me this." The pinkette began. I bit the inside of my cheek with shame.
"...But then I realised that I shouldn't blame you. You didn't choose to have nighmares. And even if you had told me, I don't think I was educated enough to have been any help." Yuuji mumbled, making me look up at him with awe. He was forgiving me.

"So during the car ride home, I read up on what can help you get rid of your nightmares. And they suggest regular exersise and to cut back on caffine and alcohol. But you don't drink too much anyway so instead-" I watched Yuuji ramble to me about what he thought would help me, pulling out his phone where he had written more notes on the matter. I couldn't help but smile, realising that I had the best man in the world as my boyfriend- and that I would destroy the world to protect him.

"Thank you, Yuuji." I mumbled greatfully, cutting him off his tea tangent as he listed around 12 different teas. He stopped his ramblings with a soft smile that seemed to mirrored my own.
"I love you." I mumbled quietly, making his smile turn into a grin.
"I love you too." The pinkette replied as he pulled me in for a hug. I melted into his arms, taking in his scent to calm my raging heart.

We didn't part for a while, enjoying eachothers embrace. But when we did try to part, we done it slowly- hesitating after we had locked eyes. It was Yuuji that made the first move, gently guiding my chin closer to his face so that we could connect lips. His lips were soft as they danced with mine, tasting like cherry and vanilla. We both smiled into the kiss after I wrapped my arms around his neck.

I didn't want to let go of him- ever. But it happened quicker than I could process when we both heard a certain someone clear their throat from the doorway. We parted as quick as lightning, avoiding eye contact with Nanami since we could already feel his judgemental gaze.
"(Y/n), some help in the kitchen?" Nanami asked stoically.
"Y-yeah...sure." I replied with a gulp and nod.

I guess this was why he didn't want to meet Yuuji in the first place.
