BONUS CHAPTER #43: Kiba vs Nia
"You're so pretty, Curly Brow..." Naruto gushed as he held Nia close to him outside in a forest.
Nia appreciated his words, yet her eyes were locked onto Kiba's, who was giving her a death glare.
She turned her head.
"Sweetheart," Naruto noticed this. "What's wrong?"
"He's... glaring at me again," The girl spoke.
"Who is?"
Naruto looked around until he spotted Kiba's hostile stare. He sighed heavily.
"Ignore him, Curly Brow. He's mean to you for no reason. Don't react to him."
"I just don't get it, Naruto. Why does everyone hate me so much? Is my face really that hideous to where they wanna beat me down for it?"
"You're pretty, Curly Brow. Him and everyone else are just blinded to your beauty. They don't know what actually makes a person beautiful. They think it's all about looks."
"Naruto, I hate that everyone always bully me because of how I look," Nia croaked.
Naruto squeezed her tighter.
"You're beautiful the way you are. You were made to be exactly who you are. There's nothing ugly about your appearance. People are just damn evil."
His eyes lowered.
This annoys me so much... Curly Brow's right. People are always making fun of her and picking at her because of her face. It disgusts me how evil they are to her. She didn't ask to look the way she does. She didn't ask to have textured skin or small eyes and a wider nose. She tries her best to be beautiful yet all they do is put her down... Dammit! I'm so mad. I wish everyone would leave her alone. She doesn't deserve to be treated so bad. She deserves so much better than what she gets.
"U-Uzumaki..." Nia mumbled.
"Hm?"
"You're... squeezing me too tight. It's hard to breathe, baby."
"Huh?! Oh! I'm sorry," Naruto lightened his hold.
He then exhaled.
"Curly Brow..."
"Hm?"
"I'm tired of this..."
"Of what?"
"Of everyone being mean to you, whether it's to your face or especially behind your back, ya know."
"This... is just the reality I live wi-"
"But you SHOULDN'T have to go through all this! I mean, it's ridiculous how many people speak ill of you, calling you all sorts of names! I swear it makes me so mad, I just wanna crack their skulls or something!"
Nia lowered her eyes.
"I mean, I can see it in your eyes..." Naruto spoke softly. "It... really hurts you. It damages your soul."
"It... doesn't matter."
"What?! Of course it matters! I can't believe how big of a bully everyone is to you! How evil can people be?!"
"..."
"Curly Brow!" Naruto grabbed Nia's chin and made her look at him. "Don't you realize how serious this is?!"
Nia only eyed Kiba's hateful orbs and sighed.
"Naruto..." she trailed.
"?"
"This... is just what I have... to deal with... on a daily basis. This... this cruelty from people like Kiba. It's just... what I have to go through."
Naruto frowned.
"That doesn't mean you should put up with this! Stand up for yourself!"
"There's no point. There's literally dozens among dozens of people who make fun of me. I can't just spend all damn day telling each and every person off. It's exhausting and stresses me the hell out!"
"But if you don't, then-"
"It doesn't matter what the hell I do cause they'll keep on doing it! The only way they would shut their fucking mouths shut is if I became beautiful!"
Naruto felt his heart ache. He wore a long face.
"Curly Brow... you know... I really hurt for you..." He croaked. "I... I hate this... I hate that you get trashed on so bad... over something that you can't really do anything about. It just... really hurts me, ya know."
"...I... don't mean to stress you out... with my problems... my situation."
"..."
"You know... no one's... forcing you to be with me," Nia said.
"Huh?" Naruto blinked.
"I mean... you don't... have to be with me," Nia clarified.
"What're you saying, Curly Brow? I want to be with you."
"But... I cause you so much problems and you get involved in a lot of drama because of others picking on me."
"Curly Brow... I don't care if I get involved. Ever since I met you... gotten to know you, all I ever wanted... was... to protect you."
"!"
Nia's eyes widened, her face reddening.
Naruto gazed into her eyes, making Nia's heart pound. He appeared so sincere. So caring. So compassionate.
"Curly Brow... I literally love you," He whispered lovingly. "I... don't care if we started off rocky. If... I started off initially not into you. Having you with me... spending time with you... getting to see how you truly are, it just... made my heart... completely entranced with you. You and everyone else may say or think I'm crazy... because they believe you're some ugly, hideous, stupid, issue-having loser, but to me... I literally... see a girl who's deeply hurting and suffering inside. Someone... who's only ever wanted to be loved and accepted. Someone... who struggles to see the good in her. Someone... who reminds me of my younger self. Someone... that I think is truly beautiful in every sense of the world and whom only needs to be loved and treated right by the correct person, ya know..."
"Naruto..." Nia's blush deepened.
"I... accept you, Curly Brow. Seriously... I do. I really think you're pretty, kind, and worth loving completely. I don't give a rat's ass what other people, male or female, has to say about you. You're not a terrible, ugly woman. They're the ones who fit that description. Making fun of others and insulting them because of how they look is not cute nor is it funny. If their looks were a reflection of how their hearts are, they would clearly see that they're truly the hideous, disgusting monsters. It's not the face that makes a monster, it's the choices they make with their lives."
"Oh honeybun..." Tears surfaced in Nia's eyes.
Naruto smiled, almost painfully.
"My heart literally aches for you, beautiful. I feel so hurt you're going through this on a daily basis."
"Naruto... you're just... so kind," Nia melted.
"You're so beautiful and deserving of the entire galaxy... no matter what others say, ya know."
"Oh baby..."
Nia blushed even harder and smiled to herself, hearts floating out of her head.
"I really... love you... Nia," Naruto cooed.
Immediately, tears flowed down Nia's face. She tried to hide them, but she would begin to cry.
"Oh Naruto..." There was a lump in her throat. "I don't deserve y-you... I love you s-so, so much. You literally mean the world to me, baby."
Naruto pressed her head to his shoulder and held it there, tears brimming his eyelashes.
"I wish... everyone could be as kind and pure hearted as you," Nia sobbed.
"And I wish everyone could see just how wonderful and gorgeous you truly are."
With that, he closed his eyes, tears streaming out of them and held her as tight as he could.
'Naruto's... truly the guy of my dreams...' Nia sniffled. 'If... I could just have him... forever and always... my life... would be so absolutely meaningful. I wish I can be with him for eternity...'
Meanwhile, the blond only thought...
Curly Brow... if only I can keep you safe forever. If only I can keep you in my arms for eternity. If only I can destroy the sadness and loneliness in your heart, I'd be... I mean... I just wish I could take away all your suffering and pain. I'll never think terribly of you. I'll never leave your side... even when things get hard. I'll never give up on us. Not now, not ever!
An hour later, as the group continued on their way for their mission, they'd make a stop to rest again. Yamato requested for Naruto to help him out with something and Nia would sit at a log near a fire. Unexpectedly, Kiba sat next to her, his eyes still full of hatred.
Nia said nothing to him.
"So..." The Inuzuka breathed. "You really think you're good enough for him? Naruto, I mean."
Nia ignored him.
"What? You can't hear me or something, ugly?!" Kiba got in her face. "I said-"
"Go... away," Nia said. "Leave... me alone."
Kiba cracked a smile.
"Oh, so you can talk! Why don't you tell me this... What makes YOU think you're worth Naruto's affection?" He poked her arm hard. "Especially when you have a face like yours?"
"Why... don't you mind your own business?"
Kiba frowned.
"You really think you deserve him, don't you? Newsflash, stupid... Naruto only feels bad for you. Because... you're just about the ugliest thing to walk upon this earth."
Nia stood up and walked away.
"Walking away, huh?!" Kiba followed her. "What?! Something convinced you you're too good to answer me?!"
He stood in front of her, side stepping her everytime she tried to move away from him.
"Move," Nia hissed.
"I'm staying here."
Nia groaned.
"Dammit, what is your issue with me?! I literally haven't done ANYTHING to you! All I ever tried to do was be nice to you, but-"
"I told you why you bother me," Kiba next poked her forehead hard. "Because. You're. Hideous."
Nia smacked his finger away.
"Get your hands fucking off me."
"Oop," Kiba pretended to gasp. "You trying to scare me?"
"If you keep this up, I swear I'll break your skinny ass in half like a twig."
"Ooo, I'm so scared. Akamaru and I would feed you to the wolves."
"And Naruto would send a rasengan down both you and your trash ass dog's throats if you dare harm me."
"Pfft! You really think I'm scared of that guy?! Please, I'd smoke him," Kiba folded his arms.
"Yeah, whatever..." Nia rolled her eyes.
"But never mind that... Why do you think you deserve Naruto? Looking the way you do?"
"Why do you think you have the right to tell someone they're not good enough for someone, you fucking ass!?"
"Watch your mouth," Kiba snarled. "Honestly, I'm just telling you what we're ALL thinking. How could Naruto possibly come to like YOU?! I mean, damn you're fucking ugly. No man on this planet would ever wanna lock lips with an ogre like you."
"And apparently, the only thing you can get to kiss you is your mangy ass dog, bitch!"
"What the hell you just say!" Kiba gritted his teeth.
"Woof! Woof!" Akamaru barked.
"You heard me!" Nia yelled.
"You think you're so something since you have Naruto!"
"You must have a thing for my man if you're this upset about him liking me!"
"You and I both know I don't swing that way."
"Then quit acting like you do."
"You're the one who NEEDS to go in that direction. No man can possibly truly love you."
"Naruto loves me for me!" Nia responded.
"No he doesn't, you delusional bitch. He only feels bad for your ugly, fat ass. He could NEVER actually love you."
"Oh my god... shut the FUCK UP ALREADY! I don't give two flying fucks if you think I'm ugly! Naruto thinks I'm pretty and BEAUTIFUL! That's much more meaningful to me than your opinion EVER COULD BE! FACE IT! HE LOVES ME!"
"You're ugly, stupid, delusional, and a BITCH! If Naruto really saw how you really act, he'd throw your ass in the trash and find a girl who's ACTUALLY worth his time and is HOT!"
"Just get the hell out of my face, dog shit smelling prick. You can stay hating on mine and Naruto's relationship with your gay ass."
"What?!" He muffed her. "What you say?!"
Nia opened her mouth, but Kiba pushed roughly at her head again.
"Touch me one more fucking time!" She got into his face, glaring dead in his eyes.
"You ain't gonna do shit!" Kiba muffed her again. "Let's see what you're gonna d- GWAH!"
Immediately, Nia connected her fist to his nose and the Inuzuka went flying some yards away. He crashed through a couple trees before scrambling backwards on the ground and stopping.
In response to this, Akamaru bit hard onto Nia's forearm, drawing blood and she spun around, slamming him multiple times against a tree until he let go, yanking the dog off her arm.
"Fucking bitches..." She winced, trying to ease the pain in her arm.
Meanwhile, Kiba lifted his face from the dirt, holding his nose as it was bleeding.
"That ugly ass bitch..." He groaned, getting on a knee. "How dare you hit me like that... and hurt Akamaru."
With that, he called his dog over.
"Listen boy... when I say go, attack her with me, okay? She asked for it now."
Realizing the danger she was in, Nia got into a stance, ready to defend herself.
"LET'S GET HER, AKAMARU!" Kiba growled, getting on all fours and dashing toward the kunoichi.
Once close enough, he jumped into the air.
"FANG OVER FANG!" He spun like a drill with his dog.
Before he could land a hit, someone grabbed Nia and moved her out of the attack, leading to Kiba crashing into the ground.
"Don't think you can escape me!" The Inuzuka roared and attempted to get her again, but before he could, he and Akamaru was restrained by wood.
"Grrgh... what the hell..." He struggled to move.
"That's enough out of you, Kiba..." Yamato said.
"Captain Yamato! What're you doing?! Let us go!"
"No way. You really tried to hurt Nia... someone who's supposed to be your friend. Your comrade."
"Don't be ridiculous!" Kiba spat. "That monster can never be my comrade, let alone, my friend!"
As they talked, Naruto aided Nia.
"Curly Brow! Are you okay?!" He screeched.
"Uzumaki... my arm..." Nia winced.
"What's wrong with your- GAH! NO!"
"Kiba... and Akamaru attacked me. They tried to really hurt or maybe even kill me."
"WHAT?!"
"They- huh?"
Nia noticed as Naruto squeezed his eyes shut, teeth gritted together.
"I... I can't stand this... Someone is... always trying to hurt you. HE'S always trying to hurt you!" Naruto snarled.
"Naruto?"
"Keh... Keh..." His body was shaking immensely.
Before she knew it, Nia saw as Naruto grew fangs and claws, his lips turn black, hair frizzled, and a red aura begin to bubble around him.
"U...zumaki?" Nia became concerned.
Suddenly, Naruto's eyes popped open, red and with a slit as a pupil, similar to that of a feline's.
"Kiba..." He stood menacingly.
The Inuzuka was busy throwing insults at Nia, not realizing how Naruto was reacting to the whole thing.
Noticing the red cloak surrounding the genin, Yamato gasped.
Not good... Kiba's really done it this time.
"Naruto..." Yamato tried to ease the blond. "Before you do anything you might regret, take a deep breath."
"He's gonna pay..." Naruto growled. "For what he did to my sweetheart!"
"You wanna fight?!" Kiba grunted. "Fine! Let's go! You and me! Captain Yamato, let me go!"
"Absolute not! Naruto, stand down," Yamato demanded.
"He hurt my Curly Brow...!"
"Do you not see my nose dripping with blood?! She attacked me first!" Kiba hollered.
"That's because you laid your hands on me first, sorry ass bitch!" Nia yelled then looked to Naruto. "It's hard for me to feel sorry for you now. Get his ass, baby."
"Don't encourage this, Nia!" Yamato yelled. "This is a very dangerous state for Naruto to be in!"
"I'm sick of it..." Naruto's bangs covered over his face. "You always insult her... You always try to make her feel less than... You always call her ugly... You always try to hurt her... always try to make her feel worthless..."
"Maybe cause... she IS ugly and IS worthless!" Kiba snarled.
"You... take that back...!" Naruto hissed.
"Do you need me to say that again?! SHE'S UGLY, FAT, STUPID, A BITCH, AND WORTHLESSSS!"
"SHUT THE HELL UUUUP!" Naruto dashed at Kiba, trying to claw at him.
Immediately, Yamato lifted the Inuzuka into the air. Naruto gave chase, attempting to get at Kiba.
Nia watched just how aggressive her boyfriend was getting. As much as she wanted to see him give Kiba a good beating, at the state the blond was in, he was coming off as though he wanted more than to just beat down the Inuzuka. He wanted to shed blood. Rather... the Nine-Tails wanted that.
"Um, Naruto?" Nia spoke as she stood up. "You can just beat him down... don't... actually kill him."
Naruto only chased after Kiba, but Yamato kept ushering him away, though with much difficulty.
"C'mon, Captain! Let Akamaru and I free so we can fight him! He's going crazy!" Kiba barked.
"I-If I let you two free... it'll... just... cause problems for us al- ARGH!" Yamato went flying after being punched by Naruto.
The genin then took the chance to try and break the wood, to which he succeeded, and Kiba and Akamaru were set free.
"You wanna act all big and bad, huh?" The Inuzuka got into a stance. "Well, I'll show you who's really the king of the jungle here!"
He sprung forward, attempting to land a punch from behind, but Naruto used his tail to wrap around his wrist, stopping him.
"Dammit! Let go of me!" Kiba struggled, dangling in the air.
Akamaru came to the rescue, but Naruto only used Kiba and slammed him into his dog. The two groaned and landed on the ground.
"I've had enough of you..." Naruto roared. "Stop hurting Curly Brow! Stop bullying her!"
"How about you stop dating that ogre?! You really think she's pretty?! That she's actually worth something?! Honestly, I'd kill myself if I looked like her!" Kiba laughed, his laugh reverberated off his chest.
"CUT IT OUT!" This pissed Naruto off as he zoomed in on Kiba, jabbing him multiple times in the gut before spinning around and kicking him. "HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT ABOUT HER?! WHAT HAS SHE DONE TO YOU FOR YOU TO HATE ON HER SO MUCH?! SHE'S MORE THAN JUST HER FACE, DAMMIT!"
As their battle continued on, as well as Kiba's taunts, Nia began to worry about the state of Naruto's mind. With every second, his transformation grew. Now, he was in his two-tailed state!
"Uzumakiiii!" Nia yelled. "Please! Let's just calm down now. You gave Kiba the beating he deserved. I'm satisfied now, baby!"
"K-Keh..." Naruto dropped to his forearm. "C-Curly Brow, it hurts... it's burning."
"Kya! Baby!" Nia gasped, running toward him.
Naruto was so angry, it was hard for him to control himself. Kiba had went over the line. Treating Nia the way he did. It was sickening. Outright repugnant!
"Nia, stay back!" Yamato wrapped his wood around the genin. "Come over to me!"
Immediately, Nia went over and he gave her a squared sealing paper.
"Kakashi lended this to me. If you place it on Naruto's forehead, he'll return to normal," He instructed. "I'll restrain him while you quickly do that. Hurry!"
Nia nodded and ran to Naruto, who was fighting to get out of the restraints.
"Uzumaki, please... just calm down..." Nia rested the sealing paper on his forehead.
Immediately, the cloak dissipated and Naruto's features went to normal. However, he collapsed. Nia caught him and rested him on the ground, putting his head on her lap.
"Oh baby..." She rubbed his head.
"Phew..." Yamato breathed a sigh of relief, releasing his jutsu. "That could've ended badly... thank goodness for that sealing paper Kakashi gave me. That worked faster than what I had planned."
"Is my honeybun gonna be okay?" Nia questioned.
"He should be fine..." The man glanced over at Kiba, who was lying face down on the ground. "As for Kiba, he seems to be knocked out. I'll go check on him."
Some time would pass and the group stayed at a inn. Nia and Naruto shared a room to themselves.
"C-Curly Brow," Naruto's eyes weakly opened and he sat up.
"Honeybun!"
"What... happened to me?"
"Oh baby!" Nia immediately embraced him. "Y-You protected me! You protected me from that horrible person, Kiba!"
"Hm?" Naruto looked confused until it hit him. "Ohhh ya! You're right! He totally bad mouthed you and it made me really angry."
"Oh baby, you fought to defend me," Nia kissed his cheek. "You're my hero."
Naruto reddened.
"Sweetheart... you're so cute. Are you okay?"
"Yes... thanks to you. My arm is wrapped in gauze right now but I should be fi-"
"Oh no! Does it hurt?!"
"Only... a bit, but I'll get better. The real question is... are you okay, baby?"
"I feel just fine..." Naruto next sighed. "Dammit..."
"What is it?" Nia tilted her head.
"I... I let you get hurt. I let Kiba be able to attack you."
"Don't... worry about it. Like I said, you protected me."
"Yeah, but-"
"Naruto?"
"Hm?"
"Thank you..." Nia smiled.
"!"
"No man... has ever cared to protect me, let alone defend me from someone trying to put me down. You're the first man... to ever stand up for me. The first guy... to not laugh at me when someone makes fun of me and the first man... to fully disagree and stand up for me when another person, especially another man, calls me really ugly."
Nia kept smiling to herself.
"I just... think you're such an incredible person. You're too kind. Too empathetic and compassionate. You have such a loving heart and I absolutely love the hell out of you for it, so thank you..."
"Curly Brow... you don't have to thank me..." Naruto grabbed Nia's hand and held it between their chests. "I do this because I want to... because I need to. I want and need you to be safe. I want and need you to be treated right. I want and need you to be happy."
Hearing this, Nia blushed.
"You're too amazing, Uzumaki. You're literally... the only person who makes me feel like I may matter. I would be lost without you."
"Curly Brow... I... want you to keep holding on... being strong."
"?"
"I know you have it really rough... and I know there's gonna be plenty of days where you're so hurt, you cry yourself to sleep, where you feel like you just wanna scratch your face off, or even feel like you hate yourself or everyone around you... just know... I really believe you're strong. I really believe that you're a good person who's just very hurt. I truly don't think you're some hideous creature and I want you to tell yourself that you're beautiful and that you matter," Naruto said. "I know... it's hard to believe that when it seems like the whole world is telling you you're insanely ugly, that no one can ever love you, that you're not worth anything, but what you choose to believe is gonna be your reality. If you believe you're some creature who's undeserving of love, then guess what? You'll never hope to find true love like that. If you believe you're beautiful and that you matter no matter what those heartless losers think of you, then guess what? You'll get what you're looking for, ya know?"
"But I already have what I'm looking for... you," Nia declared.
"Little Curly Brow..." The blond's face burned.
"I... want you in my life, Naruto. If I could choose anyone from any time, any world, any dimension, any universe to be with... I'd choose you... each and every time."
"Me?" Naruto's widened. "Really?"
Nia smiled and nodded, leaning in to press her lips against the genin's. Quickly, he returned the affection.
When they pulled away... he lowered his eyes.
"Is... something wrong?" Nia asked worriedly.
Naruto lightly clenched the sheet on his lap.
"It's just... I really am sick of seeing you get hurt. Of someone hurting your feelings. It's just... complete bull crap. I can't stop thinking of how mad I get hearing you get messed with. Dammit! I just wanna pull my hair out!"
"Naruto, this isn't your issue that you should be stressing about... just-"
"You ARE my business! You're my girlfriend! Whatever bothers you, bothers me!"
"I know, but-"
Nia then sighed.
"You know, Naruto? This whole thing... it just... really bothers me. Since I was young, I had always felt like I never mattered. Everyday, I grew up hating myself and wishing I was dead or that I never existed. I never ever felt like I was enough or that anyone could ever love me. I grew up feeling torn and absolutely broken. No matter what I did or say, no one cared. The only thing that has ever mattered about me was whether or not I was pretty. Honestly, I'm trying so hard to be strong but literally everyday I fight over whether or not I want to end my life, or at the very least, beat myself bad until I'm beautiful..."
"Curly Brow..." Naruto's heart ached.
"Literally, I've never felt loved... for so long. I always try to be as strong minded as you but literally because I'm treated like absolute trash, I find myself battling through a lot of things."
"I realize that and that's why I'm here for you," Naruto hugged her.
"Oh baby...
"I love you, Curly Brow. I love you."
"I love you too, Uzumaki..."
And so, the two would hold on to one another for as long as they could.
