I think many of you will be annoyed by aurora because of her weird and confusing feelings. But you should also Unterstand that she is confused about her and ares.

AURORA
Monday, 28th February
~Friends by Chase Atlantic

"Today you're going to our gig," Mason said confidently as if I'd already said yes. I swing my gaze to Ares, who was just talking to Scarlett.

They really got a lot closer than I thought. Since the night at my house, probably even closer than they already were. I don't know what they are, I don't know what to think about them either.

It just pisses me off, that's the truth, it annoys me to see them like that. I know they're not dating, or Scarlett would have told the whole school about that. But since no one knows even a piece of it, it is probably not right.

His gaze catches mine, he's still looking at me that way. For two whole weeks, the same look.

Emotionless, arrogant, and cold, just like the first day. I overdid it. I know. But what I meant by this thought of what's happened to us, that's what I think. It was just the wrong time when he came. I had a mental breakdown because of Quinn and the pregnancy thing.

But I can understand why he looks at me like that, but it still annoys me that he and Scarlett are so close. "Bird?" I broke eye contact with Ares and looked at Mason. "I don't know." it came from me uncertainly.

I don't feel like watching this entire gig. Especially not when Scarlett is so fucking clingy, literally clingy. She sticks to Ares. That he even feels like doing something like that.

"You're coming. No arguments, the last time you weren't there." the day Quinn told me everything. Yes, I had my reasons.

"Okay. But you pick me up." "Deal."

--

Just as discussed, I walked to Mason's car which was parked in front of my door. He greeted me with a big smile when I got in and drove off immediately.

"So where is this whole band thing going to be today?" I asked him as I buckled my seat belt. "Not in a bar this time, it's kind of a club where many bands perform, including us."

I'm excited to finally see the band, I mean live. Of course, Mason and Zeth have already told me so much, as if I had been there, but having it in front of my eyes changes a lot.

"How are you?" I looked at Mason. "Good, well it could have been better," I asked him the same thing, where Mason responded with a good.

What does Mason even know about Scarlett? I mean, he's Ares's best friend and should know everything, right? What Ares thinks, he wants to do or what he has with Scarlett too. I mean, you can ask, it doesn't immediately mean that I want something.

"How do you actually find Scarlett?" I asked and slowly played on the topic. I don't have to ask straight away.

"She's okay. I mean really nice girl right?" "Rather clingy and annoying." I said exactly what I thought, "Yeah. Most on Ares." hit the target.

"I thought Ares didn't want anything specific when it came to girls." I raised an eyebrow and looked at Mason, then at his hands.

How can a person have such beautiful hands? Slight veins can be seen, long fingers, big palms, rings, and a bracelet support everything.

"Are you listening to me?" I quickly looked up at Mason from his hands. "Yes, sorry, I was distracted."

"I like my hands too." He smiled and turned into the street. "Yes, they're okay." it's so embarrassing. "So because of Ares, yes, he still doesn't want one..." poor Scarlett is getting unnecessary hope.

"...But it chanced, I think." chanced? "So he's on the lookout now or how am I supposed to understand that?" on the one hand, it's good that Ares finally has a clear head or shows his brain, but I can't believe it like that.

"I'd give him a week if he gets into a relationship." Mason stopped the car. "I don't know if it will be this way, I think this relationship would last for years, Ares likes her very much." her? Scarlett? Does he really like her? So there's something.

"But don't worry about him. He's who he is, come on." Mason got out, ran around the car, and opened the door for me. "Thanks." he nodded with a smile.

Then he locked his car, and we were on our way to go inside. Loud live music, shouting, and cheering could be heard from the doorstep of the club as we entered.

The flickering lights made the atmosphere purple and more comfortable. Wide spotlight on the band, which was just on stage. They played a song that I really didn't know, more of a jazz song that was mixed with rock a bit, so someone would be interested.

I march with Mason by my side, his hand placed on my back. We got through the big crowd to the small but nice bar on the corner, where a girl was cleaning the glass and moving her head to the music.

Someone still likes jazz music these days.

She put the glass on the counter behind her, swings the cloth onto her shoulder, and already discovers us, where a big smile jumped on her face.

"Look who showing his face after years." Mason didn't take his hand off my back until we got to the bar, even then he was still holding it in place.

"I see there are two caipirinhas today." She was getting ready to make the two cocktails when Mason stopped her.

"No, Octavia, she's not one of my conquests." She raised an eyebrow as if it's so rare that Mason brings a girl without having sex with him afterward.

"Well then I like her a lot more, hey, I'm Octavia." She held out her hand. "Aurora." I shook her hand.

"Octavia, I have to go back to the boys, take care of her, she can have everything she wants. I'll pay for it." I looked at Mason in shock, wanting to protest, but then he walked away from us.

I rolled my eyes and was forced to sit on the extra stool against the wall. "So, what do you want?" if Mason really thinks I'm ordering everything here just because he's paying for it, then he's wrong.

"How much does water cost?" "Nothing." "Then water please." Octavia grinned to herself and made me a glass of water.

Not even a few seconds later, she came back and placed it in front of me. "So why is a girl like you here with a guy like Mason? I mean, you didn't have sex, did you?" I took a sip of water and almost choked when she asked it so directly.

"No, you?" "God no. Do I look like I'm one of the girls which are on my knees in front of Mason Lee?" I didn't answer because I didn't know exactly what to say.

I've never seen Mason's type before. I've never seen him with a girl. So I can't say if Octavia is that type of woman.

"God spare me." She sighs as she interprets my mute as a yes. "Again, I'm Octavia, and I'm a lesbian. So please get the Mason and me out of your head," she begs me.

"I didn't think you and Mason were a good together, I just don't know his type of woman." I shrugged. Then as the band stopped playing their song and applause filled the room.

I turned to the stage and clapped out of respect, too. "Well, Mason's type in a few words, smart, naive, easy to get hold of." That sounds pretty familiar.

"I've heard that before." "Ares?" I nodded but didn't show my surprise that she knew exactly who I meant.

"He's even worse than Mason, he's been here almost every week. He orders the same thing every time. Isn't that boring?" "Which makes me wonder how they manage to get so many girls." I looked at her confused and drank the glass of water.

"I can answer that. Men have an art of charm that girls don't see. Or have you ever been with Ares?" I was silent for a moment when I said no.

"You had something with Ares. Poor thing, I'll give you a vodka shot for that." She walked over to the shelf to take my shot. I looked at her. She's really beautiful.

Her brown shoulder-length hair was curled and placed on the left side. She wore a tank top and loose-fitting jeans that went with everything.

A lot of jewelry made up her style. The bracelets on the wrist, the three chains with a crystal, a normal heart, and also a normal chain. She had a septum and if I remember correctly she had freckles.

A couple of tattoos were also tattooed on her arm. "So let's drink away the shame." She put my shot glass down and took one too. Then we drank it together.

I grimaced and sighed as the caustic liquid burned my throat. "One more?" I immediately shook my head. "That's disgusting." I put the glass on the counter.

"Oh, then will taste tequila better." "No, not tequila." but Octavia was already on her way. "Oh my god, did I miss it?" I looked sideways at the panicked girl, who in this case, Scarlett.

"Did I miss the guys?" she gets on my nerves. "No, they're going on stage right now." I showed her with a nod to the stage. She turned around and when she saw Ares, she waved to him.

Octavia just came with my shot, which I ex without covering up. "Octavia, can you get me a glass of coke, please?" She nodded at Scarlett as if she hated her, then handed her the glass she wanted.

"I'm so excited. The last time they played a Chase Atlantic song. It was so cool and most of all Ares's solo. You should have been there, you really missed something." I looked at her. "Yeah, I have a life, don't you know it's not all about him." I rolled my eyes and looked at Octavia, who is also completely surprised how Scarlett can be so attached to Ares.

"But Aurora? What are you wearing, actually? I mean, is that even for a club?" I looked down at my outfit. A regular pair of jeans and a sweater that I love so much.

Then I looked at Scarlett, who was wearing a floral dress. "Give me another shot," I informed Octavia, ignoring Scarlett's dumb question, who thankfully didn't say anything else anyway because the boys finally started to play.

The entire club applauded, as did I. I put my fingers between my lips and whistled. I didn't expect them to play so well. "I'll be right back, I'm going to congratulate the boys," I told Octavia, who nodded to me.

"You can get backstage faster here." I turned to her. "Thanks." she showed me a faster way, so I don't have to go through all the crowds.

"And Aurora. I think your outfit is great." I smiled at her and then went through the door that took me through a corridor right to the backstage area.

Ares just stood there, picking his guitar in the case. I looked around, but no sign of Mason or Zeth. "Where are Zeth and Mason, I wanted to congratulate them."

Ares closed the case and looked at me.

His hair was slightly wet from the sweat and the warm air here. His shirt was black and, just like on stage, he had this really clingy aura.

"They are smoking outside, it's a tradition after the performance." I didn't even know Zeth smoked. "Zeth smokes?" "Sometimes."

I just nodded. Ares was still looking at me. He ran his hand through his hair and fuck it's can't get any hotter.

"Then I'll go to him." He nodded. "You just have to go through the door." "Thanks." I walk in that direction, and before I even left, I stopped and turned around.

A few steps to Ares. "Congratulations. You were on stage too. I have to say, you play really well for a prick." A smile tugged at his lips.

You could see the white teeth. Octavia was right, a man has a certain charm about him that a woman can't resist. "You even whistled like we were celebrities." I rolled my eyes.

"That was for Zeth and Mason." I patted his chest and turned around. "So see you then..." but my hand was held tight.

I turned to Ares, whose look could undress me. I don't know what's happening, I don't know if I should stop it, but it's different than before.

If someone had told me months ago I hadn't slapped Ares's hand away, I would have buried myself alive, but I don't want to.

Ares came even closer to me. Behind me was a large box that must have contained the amplifiers. He grabbed my thigh and sat me on it.

"I hate that I can't stop it." He brushes my hair aside, not once looking away from my eyes. I hate it too. I moved closer to him. So close, I almost fell for him again, "Ares?"

I jumped off the box and looked at Scarlett coming through the other door. Her eyes were on both of us. "Did I interrupt something?"

"Yes, No." it came from me and Ares at the same time. "Tell Mason and Zeth I'll be waiting at the bar." I turned to Ares, then walked past Scarlett with my lips pressed together, and disappeared through the door I came in.

"Aurora?" I stop in the aisle. "Yes?" I turned to Scarlett's light voice. "I wanted to ask you if anything is going on between you and Ares." That was so unexpected that my heart dropped to the floor.

Of course, you can't deny that there's absolutely nothing between me and Ares after seeing how close we were.

But I can't tell. No matter how much I might believe or think of him. And while it bugs me to death, Scarlett and Ares are so close. I don't want to and can't say it.

"No." I lied.

"So are you okay when him and me dating?" she asked in more detail.

"Yes." I lied again.

I hate myself.
