To some of you, my story will NOT be like After. The plot, my thoughts, and my plans are completely different.
Unpopular opinion I don't even like a
After.😶

AURORA Monday, 31th October

Quinn and I just picked up the tray with our food and walked into the cafeteria to find a seat. "What do you mean?" "He's so weird. So different."

"Good weird or bad weird?" I don't know if I can answer her question that easily. It's so weird and confusing. "Hey, Aurora." I looked around and found Zeth calling us to himself.

"I would say bad." I shrugged. "But he looks the same as ever."

We got to the table when all the boys were staring at us. Mason smiled at me, and Ares grinned. I rolled my eyes and was about to sit down when Ares said, "You can sit next to me smartass."

I looked at Quinn, who raised her eyebrow at the statement. She looked just like me when I first heard Ares say some shit like this a week ago.

"Not even if I'm dying." I made it distasteful as I could, which I meant. I don't know what got into him. Is he on drugs? Didn't he get enough sleep? Anyway, something's weird with this boy.

"So, what are we doing today?" Quinn asked to break the silence. "Mason and I have to go to a dinner with our mom." I've noticed that Mason and Zeth are very busy. But I never hear anything other than "We're going out." or "We have dinner with our mom today." don't they do anything else?

"Must go to the cinema with Max. Thanks to you, he likes Marvel so much that I can now go to a Thor movie." Quinn laughed at me. "And what is with the party?" she adds.

Party? Of course, it's Halloween today, but I didn't hear anything from a school party. "Where and when does it take place?" "Here in the school, the director has a son which stole the keys."

"My mom going to kill me if I go to this party," I said, and drink my water. "She doesn't need to know. So I will pick you up." "I have to babysit Max."

"Dylan can. He loves Max." "Yeah, but First I need to go to the Cinema with him, then I can go." "I can go with you," she suggested.

"Max just said the two of us and if you would ask, I should say that he doesn't feel like taking you with us. Sorry, Quinn." I shrugged. "I'll destroy that mean little rat next time I see him."

She bulged her fists, Mason just laughed and mentioned. "Even little kids don't like you." She rolled her eyes. "Haha very funny Mason, just eating with his mom is not that fun either." his smile vanished in a flash. He was no longer the one I often saw, but one often heard about. The cold, arrogant Mason.

I know Quinn was just joking, but Mason apparently took her tone as seriously. "That was just a joke." She explained. "Yes, I get it." he got up and left. Zeth watched him go, as did all of us.

I got up to walk after him, but my arm was held by Ares. "Don't touch me." "Let him." I wanted to pull myself out.

I don't think anyone should be alone. Quinn doesn't know anything about the death of Zeth and Mason's father. But they don't know that I know, either. I didn't tell her anything, I think it's too private to just tell it like that. You see Mason is still having a hard time getting used to it.

"He likes being alone, Aurora, it's alright." I looked at Zeth who gave me a little nod. Unfortunately, he knows him better, I want to Mason because I know exactly how it feels to have only one parent.

I always wanted someone to be there for me, so I want to be there for them. I pulled out of Ares's hands and sat back down.

I skewered my salad and ate it. "Why is he reacting like that?"

We all looked at Quinn, but she was only looking at me. I shrugged my shoulders. I hope she doesn't realize I'm lying. I want to tell her, but I would be an asshole to do it.

---

I walked out of school with headphones in my ears, saying goodbye to Quinn and Dylan. I have to walk to Max's school now, then home and to the cinema and after all to the party

Luckily, the school is only a few steps away from mine. I can take the train home from there. I know Max won't be able to walk mich like me.

I was looking at my phone as I was still texting my mother, I heard a loud honk. I looked up when I noticed a car next to me.

Once again, it was the car, like from the night I walked out of Ares's apartment. "Get in." not that whole thing again. I popped off my headphones and stopped.

"I don't need it." "That wasn't a question, it was an order." I raised my eyebrow. "I'm definitely not going to take orders from you." "Of course, you don't." he rolled his eyes.

"Then how about that. I'll drive you to school, and you'll be fine." "Why would you want that?" he is so weird. A few weeks ago he kicked me out of the apartment and said how crazy I was for bursting in and now? He's up to something, otherwise, he wouldn't be like this.

"Nothing. I'm just nice." "You're not nice to me." Does he want me to do his homework like Zeth? Or a project? Test? Has he noticed that I am now much smarter than he is and therefore wants my help?

"Then forget it. We calling it gesture." "I don't want your gesture. Now go." "You're really stubborn." "I know... What are you doing?" I saw Ares get out of the car.

I took a step back as he came toward me. "You don't want to get in, okay, then I'll pull you in." "People will think you're kidnapping me."

"People are, so cowardly they don't do anything anyway." it's sad but true. "I'll scream." I wait for him again as I took another step backward.

"Shout out of your throat until you don't have a voice." I panicked. Then, before Ares touched me, I gave up. "Okay stop. I'm coming." "I do not believe you. You will agree with me, and then you run away." Does he really think I would run? Not even for something like that.

"I won't run because I hate running more than anything." He raised his eyebrow. "That's why you're with Mr. Klavis in sports that mainly just running." as he approached, I took a step back.

"I was voted in, it wasn't my decision." He finally stopped. "Let's go, then." he step aside so I could finally get past him to the car. I gave him an evil look and made my way to get into his car for the second time.

Ares got in too, grinning to himself. "What are you waiting for. Drive." He starts the car and finally drove off. I looked out the window and kept telling him where to go so we could get to Max's school.

"Okay, thanks for the unnecessary driving. Goodbye." I got out and closed the door. When I walk to the entrance. "But that really wasn't a nice farewell." Ares followed me. Oh my god, could he leave me alone now?

"What do you expect from me? A kiss or something." "Would be an idea." "You're disgusting." He grinned. "Now go." "A." Max ran up to me and hugged me by my waist.

I put my hands on his back and stroked it up and down. I turned my head from Max to Ares and mouthed the words, "Go away." But Max pulled away from me and looked at him.

"You're the one basketball player, aren't you?" "Yes." they made a handshake. I'm done.

"What are you doing here? Will you pick me up with my sister?" "To be honest, Ares has to go now. We're going to the subway." I took Max's hand. "Is it your car?" he tore himself free. You can really catch Max's attention with anything.

"Yes. Do you want to come along?" He didn't really ask that just now. He's doing it on purpose. He knows that when Max forces me, I can't say no.

That's exactly what happened. Max started persuading me, he wanted to take the car instead of the subway because it was much faster.

Yes, it is. But still better than sitting in the car with that idiot again. "I don't think it's a good idea, Max." "Why? He offered it to us, and we'll be there faster." I hate that Max is slowly getting into an old age where he understands more and more. I rolled my eyes. "Okay."

He jumped out easily and ran to the car. Ares and I are walking behind.

"Stop pretending it wasn't planned." Ares's grin disappeared. I walked to the back door, opened it, and let Max get in.

I closed the door and sat back down at the seat I was on a few minutes ago. Ares starts the car and drives off. "Wow that's cool right A?" Max asked me. "Just because you have a cool car doesn't mean you're cool." I leaned against the door and looked out the window.

"You have no idea about cars." "And you about people." I hissed at him. Now I let my mood out to Max, thank you universe.

"So, Ares, why are you driving my sister?" I looked back and then at Ares. "Yes Ares, I would like to know that too?" I drew my gaze from the window to him. "Maybe he likes you." My eyes widen. Ares like me? Please.

"Max, don't think of such stupid stuff." "So Ares why?" "I want to be nice." the same lie as before.

Ares is not nice. Well, maybe he is but not to me. I wonder what he's doing all this for. What does he need me for? Or why is he trying so hard? I don't think it's because of the homework. He would be too proud to ask me about them.

Maybe he just wants to sneak up on me, so I don't do so well in school, and then he wins? It must be a scam. He thinks when I'm a girl I think the same as everyone else, and I fall for him.

He makes me weaker and then wins in the class. Of course, I can't allow that. Ares will never get me down. He has to think of something better than just driving me home.

"I heard you're going to the cinema tonight." Ares changed the topic. I leaned back and just looked at the street. "Yes! We watch the movie Thor, do you know him?" "Yeah, but I liked Iron Man more." He turned left into the street.

"I like him too. Mostly his suit." "Yeah, he is really cool."

The two continued talking, I was just praying inside, that we would get out of here as soon as possible. The car stopped. God thank you.

"Come on Max." I unbuckled myself. "Have fun at the movie, bro." they made a fist bump together. "Come with us. He can do A, can he?" He looked at me as I was just unbuckled his belt. "Ares must have plans for today..." "No, I don't." my teeth are pressing together. This guy wants to screw me completely.

"Okay, come in with us. We'll get ready, then we can go together." I glared at Max, who just looked at me confused.

"Okay." Ares turned off the car and the three of us walk into the house together. Luckily, mom and Theo aren't there. "Max, go change." he nodded and ran upstairs to his room.

I looked after him and waited until I couldn't see him anymore. "That's the last time you interfere, my brother, if you want something, then say it. Don't pretend to be nice." I warned Ares as I looked at him.

He looked me straight in the eyes as he then scanned me from top to bottom and licked his lips. "Out." I pointed to the door. "Your brother doesn't want me to go." "I don't care. You're up to something, I won't let you take advantage of me, much less that you use my brother for it."

"What if I really want to be nice." "I don't believe you." "And why not? You barely know me. The only thing you know is that I'm just smart as you." He came closer to me, so I could reach the stool that was behind me.

An ironic smile came from me. "Please, you as me? No one is smarter than me." "You have a lot of self-conviction." then Ares did what I never thought he would do. He pushes my hair behind my ear. He touches me.

My body gets stiff, I tense up, and I can't breathe. Out of reflex, I grab his hand and put it down. "Cut the shit. I'm not one of your bitches." I let go of his hand and gently push Ares away from me, so I could finally go to my room to change and get this day over me, forever.
