AURORA
Monday, 26th September

I was on my way to my next lesson. Sport. But I already thought of something, I just wrapped a bandage around my leg that my mother brought from her work.

Dylan is not by my side because of the sports festival. Five students are selected from each class and are played against other 10-graders.

I will not report. One hundred percent, not. Nobody can get me to take part in this festival, I would even voluntarily take lessons instead of torturing myself to do sport.

So I went to the school nurse, who examined it for me. I lied, of course, when she felt my ankle. I said I had pain there. She believes me quite often for the fact that I come almost every week.

But she also knows that I'm clumsy. So, with the bandage on my ankle, I walk to Mr. Kalvis, who has already seen me. He hates me for sure. "Mitchell..." "Yeah, I know. But it's not my fault. I'm clumsy, you know."

He looks at me with a very impressive face. He does not believe me. "Last year you have only been four months in sport" "I know. I failed."

"Because I couldn't grade you, the only grades I had were D's." He shrugged. Actually, Mr. Kalvis is a nice person. He understands me, and he also knows that I don't like sports.

Again, it means he knows damn well that I could fake it. "Go sit down." I nodded. I was walking towards the grandstand with a smile when my name was called by Mr. Kalvis.

I turned and saw a ball flying towards me. I caught him and foolishly, to keep from falling, I prop myself up with the foot I labeled "injured".

"You're going to fail this year too if you keep lying." Mr. Kalvis came up to me, who threw the ball. He was testing me. "Get dressed, Mitchell." I rolled my eyes in annoyance and handed him the ball back to go change.

I really don't want to do any sport, I'd rather fail. Ok, no, better not. But I could do a project to improve my grade, but run?

"Didn't work?" Kirian came to meet me. He had styled his hair slightly back and was wearing shorts. Isn't the guy cold? "No, unfortunately not. I have to change now."

"You still don't like sports as much as you used to." "Sometimes people never change." He smiles and tells me that he is waiting for me on the field, I nod.

Today would be the perfect day not to run. Dylan has to prepare for the sports festival, so he wouldn't say anything, but Mr. Kalvis had to get permission to test me. Who does this?

I tried not to get too upset about it because I knew that there was no way around it. So I walk into the changing room, changed into a sweater and sweatpants, strolled out to Kirian, and we started running.

"Why don't you do any sports with the school team?" I asked him when I was already getting a stitch in my side.

"I guess I don't want to. Maybe someday, but running is more fun." Is he stupid? "Running? Running is murder." "You're just unsportsmanlike. Maybe we should go running together."

"No, thanks, I'd rather stay in the warm bed and watch TV." Kirian laughed. I slowed down and stopped for a moment to get some air.

Kirian stopped and looked back at me. "Are you okay?" I nodded. I saw how he came towards me and put his two cold fingers on my neck to check my pulse.

"You're still alive." "Oh really? I wouldn't have thought of it." I took his finger away and started walking again.

I let the sunshine down on me. It was really great weather for the conditions I'm doing here.

"OKAY!" I heard loud screams, which doesn't belong to the atmosphere for the running at all. The physical movement isn't that great, but if you think about it, it's calm and beautiful. Nobody bothers you, you can even hear music.

But the loud roaring doesn't even give you peace. I swing my head to the left, where I saw some guys from the team. So they train outside today too.

I see two guys standing opposite each other, one always holding the ball with two hands. All of the boys listen to their couch very closely.

Then they nod, and they started to pass to their partner. I became inattentive for a moment and almost fell, but was able to hold on.

"Hey, watch out, otherwise you'll break something." Kirian came to me and still held my arm. "Thank you." he nodded and let go of me.

I started moving again easily. I hope nobody saw the almost fall, except for Kirian, which actually looked stupid.

I looked around if someone was looking my way, where nobody was actually staring at me.

When I wanted to direct my eyes forward again, this one person caught my eye. Ares. What is he looking at? Did he see me almost fall and try not to laugh?

I hope not. He's going to tease me about it. Incident he. I ignored his gaze and kept trying to keep up with Kirian.

----

"That was murder." I walk out of the changing room, where Kirian was already waiting for me. "It wasn't that bad. But you keep really well." "Oh I'm just pretending to be fine, inside I'm about to die."

"Come on, I'll buy you something for your great effort." We walked in the direction of the school kiosk. "I'm not a dog that you have to give treats to."

"I'd like to give you something. As a present." "You want to buy me a candy bar that has been made 70 cents more expensive and give it as a present." ok, that sounded really ungrateful.

"I find no matter what kind of gift I give someone unique." "Okay then go, I have to see Quinn first." she was in the other schoolyard, where we always meet.

He nodded at me and walked away, while I walked the other way. At the intersection, I was suddenly grabbed by the wrist and pushed against the wall.

I hissed softly at the not-so-gentle reassurance I got from none other than Ares. "Are you completely dumb?" I snapped at him.

I looked up at him. The sun shone on his left side profile. If I weren't cursing him for the pain right now and insulting everyone I know, I'd say he doesn't look bad.

His scent as well. "Let me go, you idiot. Why do you even have to drag me here? There are such things like words that you use to ask someone something."

"Would you come if I asked you?"

Ares 1: 0 Aurora

"No." "See."

"Let me go, pervert." "First, you tell me where you know Kirian from." I looked at him in amazement. Where does he know Kirian from, and why does he want to know something like this from me?

"I won't tell you anything." He rolled his eyes. He can do that as many times as he likes, I won't tell him anything.

"Are you dating?" That was really unexpected and very direct. He behaves so strangely, so differently towards me.

"What if?" did I mention that I love provoking people? "What if I and Kirian are actually a couple?" I lean my head against the wall and look up at Ares.

He doesn't like what I said at all. Not a single word. I loved more about this situation, 'cause everything I say is a big printed lie. I wouldn't do anything with Kirian, but Ares doesn't have to and won't know.

"You are really, like every single girl. Only one fuck and throw away." Is he fucking dumb? He's not serious!

"Hands off me. Take your fucking hands away." He did. My hand met his cheek. "Are you completely insane? You have no right to talk about me like that, even if Kirian would fuck me every night. You have no right to compare me to your whores again, I would never be like that."

I walked past Ares and nudged him with my shoulder as I walked in Quinn's direction. What's on his mind? He has the nerve to throw shit at people just because I'm talking to Kirian?

I could freak out. "Hey, Aurora." Zeth came to me, who saw me on the way. "Everything okay? You look angry?" "Ask your fucking friend who doesn't have any brain cell!"

Zeth didn't say anything when I raised my voice. I didn't want to take my anger out on Zeth, but I'm so pissed I need to get relaxed somehow.

Then there are the last two hours. This boy is getting on my last nerve. The girls who wrap themselves so easily around his finger when he whistles. He's really comparing me to someone like that.

Now, I could be mad at myself for thinking about it all the time. GOD!

I finally got to Quinn, who was waiting for me leaning against the wall.

"Woah okay." I grabbed her wrist and pulled her with me. "I could kill him." I let go and looked at her. "What happened?" I immediately released all my thoughts and what had happened to Quinn.

She just nodded and was already used to the anger I gave her. "This mf man whore." She said at the end. "Like I tell you." at least one understands me.

"But don't you think you're overreacting? I mean, you always seem so angry." I take everything back. "What do you mean?" we heard the school bell, and so we walk in.

"I mean, you're stressing yourself a lot because of him. The F and now this. He deserves to be hit, if you hadn't, I would punch him. But do you know what I want to tell you?"

"But he's so annoying how can Someone not be stressed or pissed?"

"I know he's such an asshole, just try to ignore him."  We sat down on free seats in the classroom, we had just come into.

I sat in the second row and Quinn next to me. "Did you already know? Kirian is back." Quinn came closer to whisper those words as if they were forbidden.

I straighten up immediately, my eyes widening and my mouth falling open as I closed it with my hand. "So surprised?"

I forgot Kirian. I wanted to go to the kiosk with him. Shit. "I'll be right back." Quinn nodded at me with a confused expression.

I got up quickly and was about to go through the door to find Kirian with little hope when the teacher came towards me. "Aurora, please sit down, class has started."

I nodded and walked back to my seat. I don't have a number or anything to text him, I don't know where Kirian lives or what class he's in, to somehow excuse myself.

"As you've probably heard, this year's sports festival is taking place, where individual students from the classes compete against each other. Five students from each class have to participate, so who can or wants to volunteer?"

I looked at my notebook and just drew on it. I don't plan on doing it, so I'm killing time. The only thing on my mind right now is how to apologize to Kirian.

I drew haphazardly on the notebook while supporting my head with my hand. "Who else wants? We only have two people."

There was a knock on the door as my eyes went up and looked at the door.

"Come in." Mr. Kalvis came through the door. What is he doing here? "Can I talk to you for a moment?" he immediately looked at Mr. Bennett. He acknowledged that with a nod and turned his head back to the class.

"As long as I'm talking to Mr. Klavis, think again about who wants to take part. We need five people, so there are three spots left." He grabbed his key from the desk and walked out, then closed the door behind him.

Immediately, the class became louder as Mr. Bennett left the class. I heard the girls talk about the festival, neither did the boys.

"Why don't you join us?" Zeth came to me and Quinn. I looked up at him. "She hates sports and I just don't feel like it." First, Quinn pointed at me with her thumbs and then at herself.

"And you're taking part?" Zeth nodded. "I haven't done anything for weeks. But since my foot is fine now, I'll take the chance." "I want your motivation." It came dreamily from me, which made Zeth laugh.

"So students. Please go back to your seats." Zeth walked away from us and everyone else who had stood up to talk to their friends. The class went quiet again, as before.

"So with clarification from Mr. Kalvis now two people are added who are not voluntary but still a benefit." I saw how Mr. Bennett folds back a few sheets to read these names. "Ashley and Aurora." I stopped drawing.

My eyes widen. I dropped the pen onto my paper and raised my hand. "Yes, Aurora." Mr. Bennett took me. "Why am I being selected? It's still a festival where you can take part voluntarily and not because it's forced on someone."

"Well, Aurora Mr. Kalvis informed me that you have to do it because you missed some lesson in sport the last few days, and you tried to act today as if you had something on your foot." That makes nonsense. How can it be fair? This festival has always been voluntary, and now I have to do it?

I can barely run a few laps without a break, and now I'm supposed to do parkour with all the other activities? "That's not fair."

"I'm sorry, Aurora, I'm just doing what I get told." He looked at the paper in front of him and wrote something in. Certainly my name for the festival. I rolled my eyes.

"Now where are we missing a person." Mr. Bennett looked over at the class. There was another knock at the door, but now nobody was waiting for someone to come in. The person just came in.

"Oh, Ares again 20 minutes late." Mr. Bennett stared at the clock above the door. "Yes, I'm sorry, Coach still wanted to speak to me." Ares went to an empty seat and sat down. "Good since you're late, and it's always the excuse that has to do with sport. I'm happy to tell you that you're the last competitor in the sports festival."

You're fucking joking.
