"Steaks will be ready in five minutes" Phil said

" Hang on. Dinner's ready in five minutes" Claire told them
"Coach wants us to practice layups" Luke said
"They are deceptively hard a curious mix of dance and strength" Manny explained

Everyone sat down by the table

The day after, at the School Gym
"Gracious! Turtles run faster! Come on! Could you run any slower? I dare you to run slower!" The coach yelled to the kids
"You see? He's just trying to light a fire" Jay said
"Oh, I'll light him on fire!" Gloria said
"Why do I always have to come to these things?" Sophie asked
"Because you love your brother" Claire said
"Why don't you make him come to my orchestra concerts?" Alex asked
"Because they love Luke" Sophie said

Manny went to throw the ball in the basket and it went farther
"Delgado, you're killing me, man!" The coach yelled

"I'm on it" Phil said and then walked down and later so did Jay
"When will this torture end? I have a test tomorrow" Sophie said
"It doesn't matter you're gonna stay here till the end, you have to support your brother"

"All right, okay I'm taking Alex to buy some clothes" Claire said
"I'm going with you"
"You never want to come shopping with me" Claire said

Later, at the shopping mall Claire,Alex and Sophie were walking around
"How long you been on the lam?" Claire asked Alex

"Honey, you are looking around like the feds are after you"
"No, I'm not. Let's just get this over with"
"Oh. All right. Oh, no. It's them" Alex said looking at some girls
Claire:"Oh! Oh,do you girls know those girls from school" Claire said
"Let's go! Over here" Alex said pushing Claire around a corner

"I'll meet you at the car in an hour"
"Please, Mom,please" Alex said and then left and went to those girls
"Hi, Jenna"
"Hi" Claire and Sophie heard Alex say

"Don't say a word" Claire said and started leaving
"Okey-dooky" Sophie said following after her
"Oh, my gosh! I didn't know you guys were gonna be here" Claire said as she aproached Gloria and Lily with Sophie

"I had enough basketball for one day" Gloria said

"Ay, but I'm gonna buy her some shoes first" Gloria said

"I'm prety sure she said "Please save me"" Sophie said following after Claire and Gloria
"Okay, lily, it's time to buy you beautiful shoes" Gloria said
"Oh, no, no, no. I saw another really cute dress for her" Claire said
"Mom, she has already six new dresses" Sophie said
"What she needs is strappy shoes" Gloria said
"Oh, oh. There's alex. I'll -- I'll see you later"
"Alex, honey. Hi" Claire greeted her
"Mom, I said I'd meet you at the car"

"Here" Gloria said putting Lily in Claire's arms

"I- Uh, it's Harry. I'll be back in a few minutes" Sophie said when she got a call from her boyfriend
"And now she left me too" Claire said
"Sophie's been here with you all the time. She just took a few minutes to talk with her boyfriend, she'll come back in a few minutes" Gloria said
"Yes, she's with me because she didn't want to watch Luke's game. She's never with me even when she is"
"What?"
"Even when she's with me, she always has a book or is studying. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that she's working hard for her future, but now she has a boyfriend too, so all the time she had left for the family is now gone"
"And let's not forget that in 2 years she'll be off to College, who knows if she'll even call me"
"Of course she will..."
"Manny didn't want me at the game today" Gloria said
"oh, I'm sorry"
"It's okay" Gloria sighed
"No, it's not okay. It sucks" Claire said
"I miss babies. They never tell you to go away" Gloria said
"Yeah. Or wait in the car or leave you to talk with their boyfriends"
"I don't know about you, But I'm not gonna stand here and feel sorry for myself" Gloria said
"You know what we should do?" Claire said
"Get pregnant" Gloria answered
"I was gonna say go for ice cream" Claire said
"Okay, we'll do yours first" Gloria told her
Later, in the car
"Hey, mom" Both Alex and Sophie said getting in the car
"That was 20 minutes" Claire said
"Mom. I am so, so sorry"
"I know it's no excuse, But I've been feeling a lot of pressure at school --You know, with friends. And I love you so much, And I appreciate everything you do for me. I'm still your little girl" Alex said
"I know, honey. That is so sweet"
"Can I get $20? A bunch of us are going to a movie, And we're gonna get something to eat afterwards. Jenna's brother's gonna take us home" Alex explained
"Okay! Of course. Sweetie, you know what?Take $40" Claire said
"Oh, my gosh"
"Yeah!That's right"
"Thanks, mom"
"Go on. Have a great time"
"Oh, alex, honey.When you're out shopping, You might want to pick yourself up a training bra.
I know you don't need one now, But your pretty little boobies are gonna come in soon" Claire yelled at Alex that was now outside the car with her friends
"Mommy loves you, kitten! Mwah! Mwah!" Claire greeted her and then took Sophie's phone
"Bye, Harry" Claire said hanging up the call
"Mom!" Sophie said
"Teach them to screw with me" Claire told herself and then drove off
