Elyna Benston finished her sixth glass of punch and kept the empty glass on the table as she leaned against the wall, her hazel eyes flickering as she tried to find Stiles.
She found him just across the garden, talking to a bunch of lacrosse players, already on his third glass.
Being a Hybrid had its downs too; Elyna wouldn’t get drunk easily. It took her sixth glass of punch to even feel buzzed but she knew that it was worse for Scott- the poor boy wouldn’t get drunk for the rest of his life.
Elyna walked through the crowd to find Lydia.
The crowd was behaving somewhat strange and she didn’t like crowds at all. She was uncomfortable and therefore, she was hoping that Lydia could let her see her collection of books for sometime, so that she could escape the crowd.
She entered the house and stopped short, seeing Allison standing in the middle of the hallway, clutching her stomach in wincing in pain. Sweat dribbled on her face and her mocha eyes bulged out in horror. Elyna immediately rushed over and grabbed her shoulders.
“Allison, what happened?”
But the curly brunette's eyes remained unfocused as she gasped in pain, barely unable to stand herself. Elyna pulled Allison’s hand away from her stomach and saw nothing.
“Allison!” Elyna shook her hard, making her break out of her trance.
Allison blinked and met a pair of hazel eyes looking at her in worry. She looked down at her stomach, gasping lightly when she’d saw that there was no arrows or blood or pain.
“I-I don’t’ understand-” the Hunter stammered, looking at Elyna.
“What happened?” She gripped Allison’s shoulders in comfort. Allison looked around, confused and horrified at the same time. Everyone else was acting strange too- some were jumping into the pool and some were making out with the plants.
“I-I don’t know.” Allison breathed. She still held onto Elyna for supporting, feeling slightly tipsy and nauseous from all the punch she’d had.
Punch.
“Have you had the punch? The drink that Lydia gave?” Allison asked the wavy haired brunette.
Elyna nodded.
“Shit!” she ran her fingers through her hair. “There’s something in the punch that’s making everyone crazy.”
Elyna looked around and ripped the glass from a boy, who was too deep in his trance for not to notice. Elyna brought the glass to her nose and brought it to her nose, smelling it.
“I don’t smell anything.” Elyna furrowed her eyebrows, “except for alcohol.” she tipped the glass, examining the drink. There were some minute sand-like particles at the bottom of the glass. Elyna rubbed her finger on the particles.
Allison scowled and grabbed Elyna's hand and smelt the particles on her finger. “It’s wolfsbane.” Her face paled. “We have to find Scott.”
Elyna swallowed thickly. “You can handle yourself, right?” She asked the Hunter who nodded. “I’ll get Stiles.”
“You killed your mother.”
Stiles Stilinski watched with paralysing fear as his dad pointed at him. It felt that someone was literally tearing him into shreds and the worst thing, Stiles somewhat even believed his father.
“Stiles, snap out of it!”
“You hear me, Stiles? You killed your mother and now you’re killing me.”
“Stiles! Look at me!”
Anger took over Noah and he flung the bottle of whiskey as hard as he could. Stiles clamped his eyes shut and raised his plaid sleeved hand up to cover his face, but the pain never came.
Whiskey eyes snapped open and the first thing Stiles saw was the hurt eyes of Elyna.
Her hands cradled his cheek and she whispered to him that he was fine.
Stiles looked around to see everything normal, and the party at full swing. Nobody spared a glance at him. Nobody except her.
“I’m fine.” Stiles swallowed thickly, looking up to the hazel eyed girl. “I’m fine.”
“You sure?” Elyna looked over Stiles to see if he was hurt, her heart beating wildly.
Stiles held her wrists lightly in assurance. “Yeah. I’m okay.”
Elyna pulled her hands away from his cheeks and stepped back, definitely cursing herself for touching Stiles like that.
She thought it was inappropriate, but she was so scared, when she saw him with a haze in his beautiful whiskey eyes, terror in them, a sense of defeat in his eyes.
“The drink is making everyone crazy.” Elyna explained to Stiles. “Allison had gone to find Scott.”
“Are you okay?” The boy asked her. “I-I mean did you have ......hallucinations too?”
Elyna bit her lip. The Siren part of her didn’t let her be affected by wolfsbane at all; she can’t even smell it and Allison had seen that Elyna couldn’t detect the wolfsbane in her drink and she knew that Elyna didn’t have any hallucination like others.
“I didn’t drink that much.” She lied. “Just a glass.”
Stiles nodded, not thinking much of it
“Let’s go meet up with Scott and Allison. We need to find Lydia.” He grabbed Elyna’s hand and pulled her through the crowd in search of his best friend. What he failed to notice was the pink cheeks of the Siren-Human as she let herself being dragged by him.
They quickly met up with Scott, whose brown eyes lightened with relief as he rushed to them.
“Scotty, you okay?” Stiles asked, letting Elyna’s hand go, much to her relief as well as disappointment.
Scott nodded and looked around, last the crazed people. “I can’t find Lydia anywhere, though.”
“Same.” Elyna said. Stiles was about to suggest that they actually called her when a familiar voice screamed, causing them to jump.
“I can’t swim!” Matt yelled, thrashing about in the pool, “No, no, no, no, no! I can’t swim! I can’t swim.”
Matt tried to come up, but he kept panicking, screaming and thrashing.
Water splashed everywhere. Elyna’s eyes widened as she put two and two together and breathed a curse under her breath. She glanced at Stiles who was already looking at her, his expression matching hers.
Everyone stared as Jackson kneeled down and grabbed Matt and pulled him up from the pool.
Matt gasped and panted, completely drenched in water. With shaky legs, he stood up and glared at everyone who stared at him.
“What are you looking at?” He growled at them and began to walk away.
He halted in front of Stiles, Scott and Elyna and sneered at the girl.
He shoved Elyna into Stiles and walked through them, stomping as he left the party.
Stiles wrapped his arms around Elyna’s shoulders, gently and protectively as he glared at the retreating figure of Matt, wondering why he reacted like that to Elyna.
Sirens began wailing in the distance. “Cop’s are here! The party’s over!”
Everyone began to panic and shoved and pushed around as they tired to reach to their cars or sun home before the police came.
Elyna looked at the direction Matt went and then at Stiles and Scott, who looked back at her. It was obvious that the three were thinking the same.
As they rushed out to chase after Matt, they halted to see the boy standing right in the middle of the street, glaring at them directly.
His clenched fist were trembling by his side and he breathed heavily through his nose.
Elyna gulped in fear as she stared at the Kanima who was on all fours, hissing at them. It’s tail was wrapped around its Master protectively and it bared it’s rows of razor sharp teeth at them.
Who would have thought that Matt Daehler was controlling the Kanima all along.
