A/N: Deena x reader. HERE WE GO!

Deena wasn't the most affectionate person to anyone and it showed, Kate and Simon had always thought that they would never meet someone as unaffectionate as Deena, but when Y/n came along as she always got so awkward when it came to affection, whenever Kate and Simon would hug her, they could feel her want to go up into a ball and hide forever as she would tense up and it wouldn't be a nice sight as she looked uncomfortable each time everyone tried to hug her, even Sam and she was the most respectful person that Y/n had ever met, everyone knew because she said that in front of the group.
Y/n was seated on her bed when her mom came into her room,
"What the fuck have you been doing?" She asked raising her voice, Y/n sighed and turned to her mom,
"I've been doing homework like you asked me. As you can see." Y/n sarcastically grinned out as she picked up her homework, showed her, set it down and went to continue to go back to doing her homework until her mom shouted at her agian.
"Well why are you being so loud?"
"It's the neighbours, mom. We can't control them--"
"I don't care if we can control them or not, that's not what I asked! Why are you so selfish?" Her mother asked her, Y/n shrugged.
"I don't know, ask the mother who gave birth to me. Oh wait." She grinned and looked at her, "That's you." She hummed out, she looked down at her page and continued to do her homework when her mom stayed in her room, "Can I help you?"
"Yes." She answered.
"What is it?" Y/n asked.
"Why do you hate me? And why are you hiding money from me?" She asked, Y/n's eyes shot at her.
"You went through my room--?!"
"Don't flip this on me!" She shouted, "I know you hate me! I don't know why, but then again, I don't know why you do half the things you do--"
"Because it keeps me away from you!" Y/n shouted as she stood up, "You always shout at me for things that are out of my control, you call me selfish and say how I never do anything around the house when I'm the only one who does anything! You don't get to call me a liar as well when I know how homophobic you are!" Y/n expressed as her mother stared her down, emotionless, like she didn't even care what words Y/n had shot at her. She simply knew that it wasn't nice since it seemed like she didn't even properly listen. "So, don't tell me all these things about how shitty I am when you waste money on yourself or beer or cigarettes and not even on me; or Lily, or James!" Y/n shouted and then grabbed her keys, she went into Lily and James room to see them already packed a bag as they had heard their shouting, they all left and once Y/n got in the car and drove off, James spoke up,
"Where are we going?" James questioned confused as he looked out of the mirror,
"We're going over to Deena's. Is that okay?" Y/n asked the two glancing at them through the mirror, Lily and James cheered as they really liked Deena as she was always nice to them. They were happy for Y/n that she had found love in a world that she thought was so bitter and horrible.
"Yeah!" Lily cheered, "Deena's really nice." Lily hummed out,
"Yeah! I want to be just like her when I'm older," James grinned out, "and you!" he added which Y/n smiled at but once she saw that they weren't looking anymore, she let out a small breath and felt tears try to fall from her eyes that she forced back as if she was holding onto them for dear life. She wiped her eyes making it worse though and groaned slightly, she continued to wipe her eyes.
"Are you okay?" Lily asked Y/n which she nodded at.
"Yeah, I'm ok, Lil." Y/n told her.
They soon arrive at Deena's house and both James and Lily were so excited, they were jumping around and excited to go see her, Y/n told them to sit on the steps as she got their bags out the trunk, once she got their bags. She closed the door and locked the car. She check to make sure that it worked and it did, she walked over to the door and knocked; after a few seconds, the door opened by an annoyed Deena but as soon as she saw Y/n; James and Lily. Her face went soft, her eyes welcomed and she immediately knew what Y/n needed.
"Hey, you three." Deena smiled out letting out a soft breath as she glanced at James and Lily smiling at the two but then looked at Y/n worriedly as she could see the exhaustion in her face. She took their bags and set them down as Y/n placed her hands on James and Lily's back, "Come in, come in." Deena welcomed and moved out the way, James and Lily ran and jumped onto her couch, Deena grinned, "I'm glad you three are here, I swear. I was getting bored!" Deena sighed out with a smile making James and Lily grin and giggle. Deena turned to Y/n and saw that she hadn't moved as she looked ashamed with herself. Deena placed a hand on her cheek and rubbed her thumb on her cheekbone trying to comfort her, she placed her other hand on Y/n's left hand and held it, she pulled her in softly and closed the door behind her. "What happened?" Deena questioned in a hushed voice, Y/n didn't answer and simply went to the kitchen and Deena knew exactly what she was gonna do. She sighed and went into the living room, "So, what do you want to watch?" Deena asked moving in front of Lily and James.
"Gargoyles!" James exclaimed, Lily gasped.
"Yeah!" Lily agreed, Deena laughed and put it on for them,
"I'm going to get us some popcorn, alright? I'll be right back." Deena assured the two, they nodded their head and Deena went into the kitchen to see Y/n outside smoking a cigarette with a bottle of beer in her other hand, once she released the smoke, she took a small sip of the beer but before they reached her lips, she removed it and chucked it onto the ground. The beer pouring out of the water and onto Deena's grass. She sighed and sat down on the stairs upset with herself. Deena opened the door and sat behind her, "What's wrong?" Deena softly asked her as she stared her down intently, hoping that there was something that she could do. But then again... it was Y/n. She didn't want to bother anyone. And it'd make it worse if Deena paged Kate, Sam and Simon to make them come over to hers. She did it once and as soon as they left Y/n broke down into tears which confused Deena and once Y/n complained at her and said how much of a bother she was being to them, Deena knew to make sure to never do it again. So, she was all on her own having to leave Kate, Sam and Simon in the dark.
"Nothing." Y/n dismissed ignoring her question going to take another puff of the cigarette but Deena took it away from her and put it out,
"It's bad for you. I don't want you doing that." Deena instructed in a stern yet soft voice. Y/n didn't turn to her or even want to pick up her acknowledgement as she felt like she wasn't being strong enough as she wanted nothing than to just curl up surrounded by things that smelt like Deena, cuddle in with Deena and fall asleep. "Did you bring clothes?" She whispered moving her legs around Y/n having her between her legs as she moved her hair and placed a soft kiss on her lower neck, it sent shivers down her spine. She forced her eyes shut for a few moments and then slowly opened them.
"No," She huffed out and went to get up but Deena stopped her and placed her hands on her shoulders and down to either side of her arms, she started to rub her arms hoping it was comforting the girl in front of her, "what're you--"
"Shh. Just relax." Deena instructed in nothing but a soft whisper, so soft that it could've got lost in the wind that had blown by quietly making a few leafs tumble toward the house. Y/n shut her eyes as she took in a huge breath, she slowly released as Deena continued to breathe down her neck which made her want to shiver, Deena's breath crawling around her spine making her shiver more as the feeling of her hands on Y/n's body started to become familiar. They had held hands before but that was about the most they'd ever do, nothing like her placing her hand on Y/n's cheek which she craved now. She couldn't stop thinking about her hand being on her cheek, it comforted her so much that she didn't even realise how much she wanted it more. Yet she had to fight it off.
"H-How's Josh?" Y/n questioned trying to move on from what was going on around her and although Deena didn't want to move on from how Y/n was feeling, yet she went along with it.
"He's fine. Being his usual... weirdo self." She sighed out, Y/n nodded her head and Deena simply stared her down, and Y/n could feel her stare all over her body, so, she turned around to see Deena staring her down.
"What?" Y/n questioned, Deena shook her head not wanting to make anything worse yet she wanted to know what was going.
"Nothing. I just want you to be okay." Deena expressed staring into her eyes hoping that Y/n knew that she was serious and that she did care as Y/n did have trust issues, she wasn't the easiest person to trust. Simon considered her his friend after talking to her for 5 minutes yet it took Y/n 4 months to even admit for the first time that they were friends and when Simon; Sam and Kate got excited, she immediately wanted to take it back.
She stayed quiet for a moment and then went to speak but stopped herself, she let out a small yet stressed out sigh and moved her hand through her hair,
"I'm sorry..." She apologised quietly, Deena shook her head and took Y/n's hands into hers placing a delicate kiss on both of them and then on her forehead.
"Don't apologise, I'm glad you came here and not just parked in some random car park." Deena assured her as she knew that she had done it 15 times before and hated the thought of that as they could've gotten caught and would have to pay a fine for staying overnight in a carpark. Yet the Officer's felt sympathy for the girl so, they'd never make her pay. Of course Deena didn't know this since Y/n didn't know why it felt embarrassing as she wasn't wasting money, possibly because to the Police Department, she and her siblings were known as the people who sleep in their car overnight in a carpark.
"How'd you find out--"
"Simon saw you on multiple occassions, same with Sam and Kate. Josh saw you once." Deena sighed out not wanting to tell her but she didn't want to lie to Y/n either as she knew that it would kill her to lie and say that she had just saw her a few times cause then she would've asked why Deena hadn't gone and at least said hi. So, she painfully told the truth and Y/n looked down embarrassed that her friends had to see her like that. Broken. Tourn. Weak and vulnerable. "Hey, look at me..." Deena whispered softly and cupped her face making her look at Deena. "everything's going to be okay. Let's go check on you're siblings and once their asleep, I'll take them to the guest room and me and you can sleep in my room, okay?" Deena assured, Y/n nodded her head and the two got up, Deena went to turn around but Y/n turned her back around and placed a passionate yet delicate kiss on her lips as if she was unloading everything through a kiss, and Deena felt how much stress and anxiety and as the longer the kiss went on, the more she felt and the more she felt sorry for her girlfriend and her siblings.
Y/n pulled away and rested her forehead on Deena's shoulder, Deena took the hint and wrapped her arms around her waist and moved slightly closer making them hug for the first time in a year.
"Thank you," Y/n thanked and Deena shook her head,
"Anything for you." Deena hummed in response, Y/n hummed back and placed a kiss on her neck, she pulled away from the hug and Deena removed her arms from her waist, the two went inside and Y/n waited on Deena as she poured popcorn into the bowl, once she was down however, they went through and started to watch Gargoyles all together.
*1 hour later*
Deena hadn't heard both James and Lily say anything for a while now and once she looked to check on the two and Y/n, they were all fast asleep. Deena grinned at this and picked Lily and James up, Deena using one arm to hold James and using her other hand to hold Lily. She went into the guest room and set them down tucking them in and stroked their foreheads for a few seconds,
"Goodnight, you two." Deena softly whispered to the two, she left and closed the door then went over to Y/n. She turned the TV off and as soon as it did, she accidently stood on something that created a noise and immediately woke Y/n up. "Sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry. I wasn't trying to wake you up." Deena rushingly told her, Y/n shook her head and looked around with her eyes still closed.
"No, no, no. It's fine. Honestly." Y/n dismissed giving her a small smile. She wiped her eyes and once she was done, she opened her eyes and looked around. "Where're the twins?" Y/n asked.
"In the guest room, fast asleep." Deena told her,
"Did you tuck them in?" Y/n asked as they couldn't sleep without being tucked in,
"Yeah."
"Kiss on the forehead?" Y/n questioned.
"Yes." Deena agreed as she scoffed slightly,
"A goodnight whisper?" Y/n asked.
"Love, they're fine. You can go see for yourself." Deena told her, Y/n got up and went and checked on the twins as Deena cleaned up a little. Y/n came back and started to help out but Deena looked at her confused.
"What?" Y/n asked quietly,
"Nothing, just let me handle this. You go into my room and find something to change into." Deena told her, Y/n nodded her head and placed the cans of beer as well as the food packaging in the bin bag that was in her arms, she set it down and opened it wider so it'd be easier for Deena.
*After Deena finished cleaning up*
Deena finished cleaning up and went into her room to see Y/n lying down on her bed wide awake, she closed the door quietly and brushed her teeth, once she was done. She walked over to Y/n and took her jeans off replacing them with short shorts, she laid down next to Y/n and almost immediately, Y/n threw the covers over Deena sharing with her and jumped onto her, cuddling into Deena, she palced her head into her neck and placed her right hand on the right side of her neck as her head was on the left side. Deena hummed as Y/n had moved her leg between Deena's and they got comfortable.
"I like this... we should do this more often." Deena hummed in delight as she started to give Y/n head scratches knowing that she'd like them as she had never had head scratches done before but once she started, it was as if Y/n couldn't get enough of them, whenever Deena stopped. Y/n let out a small hum in complaint and Deena would let out a small laugh doing it on purpose then would continue.
"I agree... I'm sorry." Y/n whispered in her neck, Deena was confused on why she was apologising.
"Why're you apologising? You haven't done anything." Deena attempted to assure but Y/n looked down,
"Oh, sorry." Y/n mumbled and Deena simply moved her back and cupped her face placing a kiss on her cheeks, forehead and then a delicate kiss on her lips.
"Don't apologise, let's get some sleep." Deena told her and Y/n nodded her head, she tucked her head back into the nape of Deena's neck where she so rightfully was able to have and shut her eyes falling into a deep sleep almost instantly as Deena stayed awake the whole night as if she was her guardian angel watching over her. She wanted to do nothing than cover her fully with her body and protect her from everything and anything. And she couldn't believe that she was going to admit it to herself,
She's in love.
She's in love and terrified at the thought as Y/n struggled with relationships and always felt pressured to say whatever the other person said and went with whatever the other person would do. So, if the other person said that they loved her, she would forcefully make herself say that she loved them. Even if she didn't mean it. But she didn't know the harm behind that, as Y/n had only had one relationship before Deena and it was horrible for her. Which made Deena want to protect her even more as everything they did together, was a first for her but almost second nature for Deena as she had done it with Sam. Her and Sam were still good friends and she was glad that it wasn't awkward as she and Simon were cheering her on more making it a competition on who were more happy about them dating, so much that they brought gifts into their little game that neither Y/n nor Deena could accept which made them have a bet, the bet being whoever accepted the gift from either Simon or Sam won the whole thing, that bet started 7 months ago when they officially told them as Y/n wasn't ready from the start yet they've been dating for a year on the upcoming Tuesday.
"I love you." Deena whispered placing a kiss on her forehead and continued to stroke her head.
"I love you too." Y/n whispered back which surprised Deena but then she remembered that she would always feel forced to say things that she didn't mean.
"You don't have to say it back if you're unsure, Y/n. I will still love you even if you're unsure." Deena explained to her quietly and Y/n moved her head out of Deena's neck and placed kisses all over Deena's face making her giggle.
"I love you." Y/n truthfully told Deena with a huge grin that made Deena blush and go into a love overdose. Deena kissed her nose and as she did, Y/n scrunched her face which Deena fell in love as it looked adorable. She was adorable when she did anything.
And Deena would happily scream and shout that Y/n was her girlfriend and that she loved her, even to the homophobic assholes that she would always be slightly hesitant to answer back too. It was as if Y/n gave her some sort of confidence.
They both made each other happy, there was no denying that and it's not like it's not obvious to see that their in love with one another. It's the admitting that's the hard part yet for them, it seemed so easy as it rolled of their tongues like it was fluent yet wrong to anyone else.
They were happy. Y/n was starting to feel slightly more comfortable. Things looked good for the two and they simply did get better for the two.
