He literally died in front of them and wanted to NOT let that happen again. Later they were talking about what happened to both her and Eric
Nurse joy: genecect and mewtwo? I've never heard of those Pokémon before

Later on, in Pokémon hills, some of the Pokémon started running for shelter,m. The genecect came assuming they were all against them and blasted everything on sight making all the creatures flee. They then proceeded to sprout webbing on the walls that solidified into rock as the genecect flew higher to destroy everything around them making all the creatures flee. However, the local feraligatr saw the events happening and decided to do something about it. He used flamethrower r the genecect who blasted shim back causing everyone to evacuate the refuge

A few minuets earlier the group made it to the park as they were on their way back to Pokemon hills with Steven still sleeping
Latias: don't worry Stevie cake, you be okay
That's when they realize the silence in the air
Diego: why is it so quiet?
Leonard: yeah. It is quiet.... too quiet
Manny: Ellie? Guys? Where is everyone?
Ellie: SURPRISE!!!
That's when all the Cenozoic residents of Pokémon hills and ash's univa friends burst out of the undergrowth and blew party blowers and flower streamers. Crash and Eddie the possums revealed an ice sculpture of manny and Ellie behind some bushes

That's when it clicked

Conkeldurr: I'd go for a nice streaming hot plate of-
At that moment the lights shut off

He raises his tail and it shined light a lightbulb

Then the lights shit back on and off again

The gang all decided to dig in to a well deserved dinner just as Steven woke up
Steven: man, I feel like I was hit by a truck

Sid takes a huge gulp of his drink when he sees the lights act up
Sid: (turns to Diego) uh... does that look like a problem to you?
He points him to the lights
Diego: simple power problems m? Why would that be a problem?
At that moment they see the Pokémon hills residents run for the hills
Steven: hey! What's going on?
Arbuck: an invasion at the refuge
Parasaurolophus: armored insects destroying the place! And their on their way here!
They all look to see the genecect on their trail blasting everything on sight

Ellie: (annoyed) I suppose this is all part of your "magic show" for me?
Manny: hehe... Abracadabra?
Iris: can you deal with this later?
Diego: come on! We need to get to the refuge for cover!
They al rush to the direction of the stampede as well as team rocket to see what was going on. They stop to see many Pokémon still at the refuge as they see feraligatr on one of the ledges blasting at his attackers. But the yellow spot genecect blast him sending him falling to the water below. Yellow flies back inside the refuge
Steven: the genecect!
Eric: so that's what they look like
???: help! Please!
They look to see a kirlia with a roserade next to her as she's holding a ralts in her arms
Kirlia: please help! My daughters very hurt!
Cilan comes and scoops her up
Cilan: don't worry ma'am, I'll get her to the Pokémon center
He does so as the rest of the gang head inside the refuge but are blocked by two genecect who blast at them destroying the bridge. They all turn back and head another way, into the control room
Eric: the workers use this core door. It connects to Pokémon hills
They all make their way through as the genecect make a nest with the power room making it like a beehive
Steven: what's this?
Eric: power. It's the transformer substation. It sends electricity to the whole city
They look around to see it all covered in rock solid webbing
Steven: not good
