A/n: sorry if you don't have siblings lol
It's an early evening on a Thursday. I sit at the table doing my work as my mother making some sort of food. "Y/N can you please watch the kids for the weekend?" My mother asks even though I know it really wasn't a question. "Of course ma, you and dad enjoy yourselves! I've got this!" I smile even though I know that this another addition to my current stress.
"Thank you sweetheart" My mom kisses my forehead and walks upstairs to pack, well I assume.
*the next morning*
The next afternoon my parents are getting ready to leave. There's a car pulled out front and my father carries the last bag to the trunk. "Okay! So remember (youngest brother) has been going through this phase of only eating chicken nuggets so if you could try and get some veggies or at least something in there that's be great. Also (younger sister) has to take her meds in the morning AND night! And finally don't forget that (other younger brother) has his first soccer game on Sunday and please take pictures. You know they're only 6 years old once!" She continues to ramble on about the needs of my siblings and I just nod while taking mental notes before finally reassuring her everything would be okay and not to worry.
"Alright sweetie I love you. Good luck! See you Monday morning!" She gives me a hug and hops in the car. Ahh my mom always so busy. She'd probably loose her head if it wasn't attached to her neck. I turn around and walk back inside and shut the door behind me taking a big sigh before looking at the little kids in-front of me.
"So guys what should we do before dinner?" The two older kids shrug and my youngest brother just runs off somewhere because I think his 2 year old attention span ran out. "Um so what do you guys want for dinner?"
"Chocolate!" "Ice cream!" I chuckle a bit. Well that's the last time I ask kids for dinner suggestions. I tell the kids to do their homework and tidy up their rooms and they listen to my surprise. I decided to go check on (youngest brother) quickly before starting dinner. Mom said he was going through the stereotypical "terrible 2s" phase. When I walk into boys' room I see (other younger brother) cleaning his side and making bed but I see (youngest brother) playing with some toy dinosaurs. I smile at his cuteness and go and make some dinner.
I decided to make it easy on myself with some chicken nuggets and Mac & cheese with a side of broccoli. The kids wash their hands and eat their food (well you know who only ate their nuggets) After dinner they get ready for bed they hop into bed and even though it takes a bit of time they're all asleep.
What was mom talking about "good luck" this is gonna be easy.
I smile to myself, the kids were angels! I finally relax and sit down finishing 1/2 of my mountain of homework. What only feels like minutes latter I check my phone and realize I got message almost an hour ago.
Kuroo: Just realized I hadn't gotten the chance to talk to you today lol. Anyways was just gonna say goodnight :)
I smile at my phone. Kuroo and I were friends who had a nerdy bond over chemistry. He was super cool and kinda cute. Of course I'd never tell him that but ya know it makes me feel good that someone like him acknowledges me. I go to sleep happy and prepare for a chill weekend.
*in the morning*
"NO ITS MINE YOU KNOW ITS MINE"
"I DONT CARE YOU CAN SHARE"
I shake awake at the sound of children yelling. I check the time realizing it's 11:30 holy shit- can't believe I slept so late. WAIT THE KIDS OH MY GOD. I sprint out of my bed boarder line tripping on my own feet.
"Ohhhh my goodness! Guys what's going on?" All three kids looking at me. I have to blink a few more times to take in the view of our living room right now. Papers and food everywhere. Toys littered throughout the hallway and a bucket of LEGO's dumped on the couch. The two older kids were currently fighting over something, while wearing what looks like our mothers makeup smeared all over their faces. They were busy yelling while the youngest was sitting in a corner eating a tub of purple paint.
I run and scoop up the toddler and set down the paint container taking him to get cleaned up and just silently praying the paint is non toxic. Was he was cleaned up I put him down in the living room while panicking about the mess and hearing the story from the older kids. Ugh I can't even get mad then this is my fault for sleeping in. I calm down the kids and get them some late breakfast of cereal and drain the milk. (Youngest brother) refuses to eat it so I reheat some nuggets for him and try and clean the house still in my pajamas with my hair all crazy.
By the time the house is decent it's already past noon and the boys are playing in the backyard and (younger sister) is in her room playing dolls. My phone starts to ring from my room so I quickly pick it up then walk back to a window to watch the kids.
Hello? I say
Hey! It's Kuroo, are you free today?
Oh hey kuroo and sorry I'm not. I've got to babysit three kids and we're out of milk and all they wanna eat is like Frosted Flakes and chicken nuggets. I kid while laughing . Plus homework and all.
Oh alright. Well I wanted to know if you wanted to come see a movie with me... I blush a bit I mean ya know because uh Kenma was busy and all.
Well like I said I'm super busy, but I would absolutely love to. I mean who wouldn't want to spend their Saturday with you! I laugh and he does too. We say our goodbyes and I sigh heavily. Ugh I could've been hanging out with Kuroo!
"Y/N are you okay?" I look down to see my little sister pulling on my pantleg. I smile at her "of course sweetheart, let's go play outside with the boys"
An hour or two goes by and all hell breaks loose again. I've got three crying kids about being hungry and absolutely no idea what to make. I search through the cupboards realizing I really should've gone grocery shopping when the doorbell rings. I run to the door and open it slightly. It was a tall boy with unruly black hair.
"Kuroo?! What are you doing here?" I ask in genuine surprise. He smiles at me and we try and quickly try and talk over my crying siblings.
"Well you sounded kinda stressed so I brought a pizza and I bought milk" He smiles at me and I now see the pizza box and grocery bag in his hand. Only he would do something like this. I smiled into a sigh and opened the door and let him into the house. While he's taking off his shoes I lean over to him "uh don't mind the chaos please" He just looks at me and smiles, "I won't" All three kids look at him like he's an alien and (youngest brother) runs over to hide behind my pant leg. Kuroo sets the pizza down and the kids kinda just shrug and then dig in. I take the milk from his hands and put it in the refrigerator.
Everything gets settled and the kids are all napping after eating (we somehow got all three of them to eat pizza) Kuroo and I are sitting on the couch talking. "Really I can't thank you enough and you didn't have to really. You gotta let me pay you back" I say to him. Kuroo shakes his head, "It's totally fine and plus I mean we still sorta get to hang out today" Man he's so nice. "I'm sorry Kenma couldn't hang out either" He shyly looks away, "well that was kind of just an excuse to ask you to go with me"
"Oh?"
"Well it's kind of embarrassing to admit but I've been trying to hang out with you for a while but I've been struggling finding a way to ask you" struggling to ask me? "Well I'm kinda confused why would you struggle?" I awkwardly giggle, "We're friends"
"Well I wanted to hang out as MORE than friends, ya know"
More.......than friends? MORE THAN FRIENDS?????
"You know it's cool if you don't really like me like that" Kuroo states awkwardly and starts to get off of the couch. I quickly grab his hand, "wait, I'd like that. Ya know maybe being more than friends" I smile at him and he sits back down. "Well okay cool yeah cool" We're sitting there awkwardly no idea what to do now.
Finally I decided to just scoot closer and set my hand on top of his. He interlocks his fingers with mine. "So wanna go to a movie like next weekend" Kuroo grins at me kind of nerdy like. "You know I'd love to! Man I really wish we could've gone today. Sorry that we have to hang out here with the kids" I say now realizing we could be on like a fun date. "Don't worry about it Y/N we can go next weekend like I said and plus I like kids" I laugh, "Well you should've seen the morning that I had with them my god" He laughs. As if I summoned it my (younger sister) is now standing in front of Kuroo and I.
"Is he your boyfriend?"
Kuroo and I just awkwardly look back in between each other and my sister. "I'm just your sister's friend" Kuroo says seeing the slight panic in my eyes. After all the kids wake up we all just kind of chill and to my surprise my siblings really do like Kuroo. He played dinosaurs with (my youngest brother), and let (younger sister) do his hair and play tea parties, and (other younger brother) was trying to teach the volleyball captain soccer. It was pretty adorable watching them interact. When things finally calmed down it was night time and we were all laying in the living room watching a movie. Kuroo and I were cuddled up next to each other. "I really appreciate you being here with me today like seriously" I whisper looking up at him. "Of course Y/N. Any time with you is time well spent" my face flushes and I'm thankful for the darkness in the room.
After the movie I walk Kuroo to the door and we say our goodbyes. After I shut the door I take in the time we spent together today and realize maybe babysitting wasn't so bad after all.
Hey happy 100k reads! I don't know if this is really an official "comeback" or whatever but I have COVID and it's painful and shit so I thought I'd write something. I'm also probably going to go through and edit all my preexisting chapters. I've already done the tendou chapter and the todoroki chapter.
