How long had it been since Bear was last left unscathed. Her skin pure of scars, bruises, and burns? It was strange, missing something she never thought too much about.

But, I guess you never miss much till it's stripped from you completely. For her, it was herself.

For some, the idea of that seems confusing, but not to Bear. Catching herself in the mirror, the girl looking back at her in her own reflection was a skeleton.

She'd missed the sun dearly, it's heat beating upon her back. Making the top of her head strangely warm in a soothing way.

The outside was now a mirage to her, and she had walked miles into a desert as dry as her sense of humour.

Harper and Monty never told her what happened to them, but know she knew. She felt it, the pain so intense she'd pass out only to wake once more in this nightmare.

Bear never knew, until know, how comforting a cell felt.

Being shoved into the room, Bear watched as the doctor whore yanked a tray around to an examination table. Smirking to herself, she knew they'd give her hell.

"Strap her down," she ordered.

"I think the fuck not," Bear sneered, suddenly propping one leg up on the wall and pushing back, causing the guards to stumble behind her.

Stepping back, she craned her head forward, before swinging back. Listening to the satisfying crack of her head hitting a soldiers nose.

"Get her!" The doctor ordered.

Suddenly, two soldiers managed to manoeuvre her techniques, and grappled her by the arm. Pushing forward, she stumbled and slammed her head onto the table.

"Watch it!" Bear growled,"bitch."

"Watch your tongue," one of them snapped, before suddenly tightening a strap around her arm.

Reaching around, Bear felt restrictions being tightened around her arms, ankles, and neck. Huffing to herself, she winced at the pain of pulling against the leather straps.

"You aren't as nice as the others," the doctors voice hummed,"So, no anaesthetic for you."

Pulling at the straps around her neck, Bear scoffed, as her head rested on the table at an uncomfortable position. She could feel her necklace digging into her chest.

Of course, she wouldn't say a thing about it.

Feeling her dress ride up, Bear felt pressure being put around that portion of her leg, as the doctor drew a precarious shape.

"Do you beg?" The doctor asked, putting together a device,"do you pray?"

"I'd rather die than beg before you," Bear warned, her nails digging into her skin,"But maybe I'll pray that those you've wronged tear you apart in the afterlife."

"Maybe you'll want to do both," the doctor smiled, placing the drill against Bears leg,"Maybe you'll be the one to tear me apart in the afterlife."

Than, Bear screamed.

"Please don't," Bear whimpered,"I beg of you."

Two guards ripped her from her cage, practically dragging her across the floor, as her legs refused to move.

The injury to her legs will heal before the wound on her brain. Bear guessed that's how trauma works, although, she wasn't too sure.

She figured she'd been through enough trauma in her life, that another wouldn't change the damage she already feels.

She felt so weak, so very weak.

Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the doctors pristine, white gloves now covered in blood. Her blood.

Hanging on the wall were the gloves, now crispy and dyed a dark red. On the wall behind them were splatters of blood from when she had thrown them up.

Was it not time to wash them clean?

"Kill me," Bear smiled, propping her head back so that it hung,"I'd happily take my chances with the devil."

"So now she begs," one of the soldiers remarked.

Feeling to weak to hide it all, Bear began to sob, crying out as her eyes began to tear up. She felt so much pain, it was more painful than anything she'd ever felt before.

At least the others would remember when, when she was gone, as brave. Her name would slowly leave their minds, and they'd one day just remember her as they girl who shielded them from pain.

Death didn't sound so bad now, but, she'd be leaving a little girl to tackle this world all alone without her.

Maybe she could fight death, just for a little while longer?

The door behind them opened, causing the soldiers holding Bear up to turn around and stare at the new recruit that walked through the door.

"Oh?" Bear sniffed, her eyes blurred from the tears,"Is that my favourite doctor?"

Suddenly, two gun shots were fired, as the soldiers holding Bear up fell to the ground, bringing her down with them. Curling up in a ball, the girl felt weak.

She felt pathetic, her pride drained.

Shivering slightly at the chill, Bear didn't have enough energy to stay awake, as two arms suddenly cradled her against a warm chest.

Clenching her hands into fists, Bear allowed herself to cry. For once, she'd let her walls break apart.

As the world began to spin and darkness swept her away into the singing shadows, one distorted voice called out to her. It's hand softly caressing her voice and brushing the tears away.

"I've got you, smalls."
