Chapter17
~General Point of View Change – Rayn, Asami and Goddric~
Rayn woke to both his mates cuddling him. He felt safe and warm between them. He lay their just listening to them breath and feeling the natural raise and fall of their chests. While laying there he realized that Asami's overly warm body temperature was perfectly countered Goddric's lower body temperature leaving him perfectly warm and cozy between them. "What are you thinking about Little one?"Goddric asked suddenly, breaking him from his thoughts. "Um.. about how it feel so warm and cozy, and safe, it is being between you two."Rayn told him honestly, embarrassed . He felt Asami chuckle before he felt him press a kiss against the nape of his neck. "It feels just as good having you between us." Goddric smirk at him he could feel the happiness bloom in his mates chest. "So what's the plan for today?" Rayn asked nervously asked. "Other then mom's funeral."He quickly added. "Well first breakfast and honestly I need to feed." Goddric told them as he sat up and stretched. It had be a stressful few day since he last feed and he was getting a bit irritated to be honest. "Which one of do you want?" Asami teased gaining a chuckle from Goddric. "Well since you asking, I wouldn't mind a bit from both of you." He replied with a cocky attitude.Rayn's face went flush as he recalled the last time Goddric has feed from him. "Would we even have time?" Rayn muttered almostin audibly. Both Goddric and Asami chuckled and looked at him. He could see a hint of amusement in their eyes. "Yes Little one.Though sex and feeding go well together. Its not necessary. I can feed from you with out causing arousal, its just better with it."He told him but it was clear it didn't make sense so he pulled Asami to him as showed him. Rayn watched them it was clear that Asami wasn't in any displeasure and there wasn't any feeling of being aroused coming off of them. After a few minutes passed Goddric released his fangs from Asami's neck and sealed the twin holes closed with a pass of his tongue. "Not gonna lie, that was hot as hell to watch." Rayn told them. Both simply smirks but for Goddric held his hand out from him. "May I?" Pleased when his mate nodded and satin front of him. True to his word Rayn had not felt any pain other then when his fangs first enter the skin nor was it arousing like it had been the first time. All he felt was a pleasant feeling of closeness to Goddric. After a few deep swallows Goddric removed his fangs from Rayn's neck and sealed the twin holes before placing a loving kiss and his neck. "Don't look so disappointed, there will be plenty of time for sex later." Asami teased Rayn, earning a pillow thrown into his face. "I am not disappointed you ass. It just feels differently and kinda. I don't know. Weird?" "It is normal for it to feel weird at first. Don't let Asami get under your skin." Goddric laughed.
After they had eaten breakfast they hung out around the pack house until it was time to get ready for the funeral. They all quickly showered, of course his mates insisted on washing together. They insisted that 'It saved time', but Rayn was pretty sure they just wasn't to watch him shower as they would occasional touch him in a sensual way. Goddric and Asami both made comments about how beautiful their mate looked as they dress. The embarrassment made Rayn was almost glad to see Nate when he came to the room to see if they were ready. Once the three of them where certain Rayn was okay to go they headed down stairs and out of the pack house to the awaiting cars. The ride to the pack cemetery was about ten minutes long. Rayn's nerves were on edge the whole ride and stayed like that for most of the funeral. Until pack members started sharing stories of the past before Alex died. Rayn had started crying by that point. Some of the storied they told were about when his dad was still alive and to Rayn it was nice to remember those times. The times when his mom still loved him, before the alcohol and the abuse. One of the stories that were told was the time his Dad had tried to surprise his Mom for their anniversary. It was going well and his mom was so happy, that was until his dad had slipped accidentally dropped the cake right on her head. The pack had never seen his Mom as mad as she had been. She chased him out of the pack house with her shoe. It had been the funniest thing anyone had ever seen. Other story was told about how his mom had got all the pack mom's together and managed to through the Luna a baby shower.She had worked so hard to keep it a secret but she did and the Luna was truly surprised. There were several others that got up to speak about the funny or heart warming things she had done, all of them however happened before his dad died. His death really was the start of her downfall. When it finally came time for finally good-byes,Rayn was a mess but he was able to pull through it with his mates support.
At the reception afterward Rayn seem even more on edge. Goddric and Asami were constantly asking if he was okay. He would tell them nothing was wrong and that he wasn't used to being in the center of attention, but in truth Rayn couldn't shake the feeling that people were actually watching his every move. It was unnerving, but it didn't help with all the people that were coming to him and giving them their condolences. Rayn really did hate being the center of attention be cause of the scar on his face. However no one had said anything about it or seemed grossed out, they accepted him and that made him feel a bit better. As the reception went on Asami and Goddric felt Rayn start to relax which in turn relaxed them. They had known that this was going to rough on him and yesterdays run in with Rick's friends had them all on edge. They were doing their best to stay calm for him and be supportive and for the most part they were doing just that.
Everything was wrapping up when the Beta rushed up to Nate saying that he had received a report of a pack of rouges entering the eastern part of the pack land. "I need to go." Nate told them, Rayn could feel the wanting in his mates to go help. "If you two want to help the pack you can go." Rayn told them reassuringly. "What about you Love?" "I am going to visit my dad's grave and then I will go back with ride back with Megan and her mate Axel." They seemed to hesitantly stall. "Go. I will be okay. I am going to help clean up.Then visit dad's grave." Rayn insisted. "Axel is one of the stronger member of the pack, if that helps calm your nerves." Nate told them as he called Axel to him and asked him to look after Rayn.Even he liked the idea of having them there if it was in fact a pack of rouges. With a nod and a kiss, Goddric and Asami followed Nate out the door of the reception hall. "You going to be okay?' Megan asked Rayn once his mates left. "Yeah. If Nate trusts your mate that much then I do too." Rayn reassured her as he helped pick up some of the dishes. "How about you go to your dad's grave. We are almost done here and will join you in a few minutes." Megan told him sweetly. The reception hall was almost done being cleaned that only things left to do were sweep and load the dishwashers. So he agreed and headed to his fathers grave.
As Rayn stood in front of his fathers grave a wave of emotions swirled around him. Sorrow and longing the most powerful, along side of relief. He had thought he would never see his grave again after what happened. Rayn knelt down and had told his dad all about his mates and work. He told them about how they had saved him at the bar. How they made him feel special, loved. He told him about how he would be proud of him and how Asami owned a Torino just like his. He told him about how their pack was a mix of both vampires and werewolves. It was really cool and he admired his mates for everything they did and achieved. He told him about his friend Matt and the shenanigans they got into together and the fun they had around the shop. Once he had told him everything he could think of he stood up. "I love you dad." He said before he turned to head back to the reception hall.However before he could get far someone grabbed him from behind and press a rag against his mouth and noise. The last thing he heard before falling unconscious was sickening laughter.
~General Point of View Change – Goddric and Asami ~
When they arrive at the area of where the group of rouges was supposedly seen there was nothing. No sign or smell that anything other than a few wild animals was there. Something wasn't adding up, but no rouges was a good thing. Rouge were dangerous and having them in once area was something than needed dealing with immediately. They headed back to the pack house after doing a thorough check of the area. As they reach the pack house they something didn't feel right. They had been feeling Rayn's emotions through the bond. The figured he was at his dad's grave when sorrow and longing. However what had bothered both of them was the sudden spike of fear, It was so quick that it was almost missed and then just nothing. As if Rayn was asleep. They had just shifted back to from there wolf forms when the site of two wolves come barreling toward them. One moment a sandy brown wolf was skidding to a stop in front of them and the next was the girl named Megan. She was panting heavily and her face showed fear. "Gone...He....Is.. gone." She gasped in between breaths. "What!?"Myself, Goddric and Nate exclaimed at the same time. "Rayn. He's gone. I went to meet him at his dad's grave and he was just. Just gone. Axel and me looked every where. We can't find him or his scent.We only took our eyes of him for a moment." She cried, regret and fear heavy in her voice. It was clear she was blaming herself. Fear and rage fulled both of us. We both tried to reach out to our mate through the bond, but there was nothing. He wasn't answering our calls and to make matters worse when we tried to feel for his location we couldn't feel him. Asami immediately shifted and bolted for the reception hall where he was last. Nate shifted and we bolted after Asami. When we reached the reception hall be headed straight for Alex's grave. Both Nate and Asami sniffed the ground, air and every where else but couldn't pick up Rayn's scent. It was like someone cover it. Nate lifted his massive head to the sky and let out a haunting howl. Moments later the howl was echoing from the distance.
As the reached the pack house from the graveyard all was the Pack's over thirty warriors were waiting. Nate shifted and addressed them. His voice was filled with rage and fear as he spoke to them. "Rayn is missing. He was last seen at the reception hall before we were called to a possible rouge sighting. I am starting to suspect the ones that call it in are also the ones that took him." "You thing someone kidnapped him?" Kyle, the Beta, asked. "I do. We went to were he was last reported to be. The only place that still had his scent was the reception hall itself. Other then that me, nor his mates could find a trace. They are also unable to reach him throughout their bond." As Nate spoke furious howls and growls started to pour from his warriors mouths. "Most of you may not know, but Rayn in my nephew. I want him found immediately!" Gasps could be heard from a few of them but other then a roar of "Yes Alpha" was heard. The warriors shifted and branched out in every direction. "Come I will show you a map of the Pack Lands." Nate told them and they reluctantly followed. It would due no good to charge off with no scent to follow and no idea of the land.
When that reached Nate's office he pulled out a large map that showed all of the territory. "This is the whole area. I have warriors as well as some others that stepped up to help combing these areas here."Nate pointed to various areas on the map. Goddric nodded and questioned him about various things as Asami paced. "Asami, you need to try and calm down. Keep trying to reach him through the bond." Asami looked at Goddric like he had just grew a second head.He knew he was right but he was overwhelmed by worry and fear for their mate. Only the Goddess had any idea what their mate was going through. Regret was eating away at both of them. They had promised him that they would keep him safe and the had failed. Goddric pulled Asami into an embrace. "We will find him and we will kill the ones responsible." Goddric told him with a deadly tone.
