"Hello everyone," Fai said as she switched on her V-live, "Welcome to my birthday live stream. I already took off my makeup so I'm sorry you have to see me like this."
Fai watched the view count go up, "There's 300 thousand of you already, this is awkward because I have nothing prepared to do with you. I've received so many birthday messages from you all, so thank you for that. These days, my life has been so hectic. But today, I forced some time in so I can see some of the birthday billboards there are here in Seoul. I've read about the ones you've done abroad as well. Thank you, you guys are so creative it's crazy."
Fai took a look at the comments, " 'The resolution is low' That sounds like a you problem." Fai looked off-camera, Jinyoung, her manager came in with a small cake.
"For you," Jinyoung whispered.
"Woahh, thank you so much Ahjussi," Fai stood up taking the cake, Jinyoung shot Fai a look, "Oh sorry, forgot you still considered yourself young."
Fai looked back to the live, "Manager Oppa, gave me a cake. It's really really pretty, I like the green. I'll put on the candle, light it up and we can all make a wish together," Fai silently contemplated where to put the candle but she figured it out eventually. Fai pulled out the lighter she had in her pocket and lit up the candles, "Okay, we make a wish in 3,2,1."
Fai closed her eyes making her wish then looked back up, "This year, I made exactly two wished and none of them came true, yet. This is my third, so let's hope it comes true. To be honest, I never made wished before. But last year, Taehyungie Oppa told me I should so I've been following his advice. 'Fai what have you done today?"
"My schedule," Fai clapped her hands thinking about where to start, "Today I woke up at around eight, in a rush, I took a shower and ate quickly. Rehearsals until one, I had lunch with Kai Oppa, at around two and we went out to go see the birthday billboards, then I started filming at four. Now we're here at seven, doing this. I have a recording session in half an hour, we should be done by eight or nine. Before I go home, I'll have a quick stop at my grandparents. Then sleep. It's a long day, but I'm happy about it."
Fai read the comments coming through, "Don't get your hopes up, I'm not coming back soon. The recording is more for vocal layering for another project if you know what I mean."
Fai took a pause thinking, "I want to tell you guys something but it's really embarrassing. I feel like if I tell you, your perception of me will probably change. Nah whatever, I'll tell you."
"Last night," Fai started, "All of us in the company wrapped up work pretty late because we're pre-recording and practising for everything that is going on in our lives right now. The BTS and TxT members had already wished me a happy birthday, people in the company gave me birthday cards. I was feeling really happy. I got home at around 12:30 and I was so tired but even so, I decided to stay up an extra hour since it's my birthday and I'm really bad when it comes to replying to messages that come overnight, so I thought it would be nice to reply on time.
"Is it weird to openly admit that I was anticipating a lot of messages? This year, I really tried to step out of my shell. I tried to make more friends in this realm especially since a lot of the people debuting this year are around my age. It was really hard to get to know people as well, I realised that people looked at me too much like a senior but I had thought that after all the efforts we would consider ourselves acquaintances at the very least.
"Anyways, I stayed up an extra hour and received seven messages. I got messages from my mum, my aunt, Haechan and Mark because they're in Japan, a friend who is a not an idol, Felix and Sehun Oppa. The three other guys, I knew they wouldn't text me because they had wished me an early birthday last night and today since we've been filming together, I've already received gifts and cards from them.
"That was it. I stayed up until 1:30 and I received seven messages and they were all from people who I've known for a really long time. Honestly, I'm not sad about the number, it's more of after all the efforts I had put in this year to make more friends varying around my age and yet until now none of them texted me.
"It made me feel insecure. I was starting to doubt myself and my social skills. I was thinking that maybe I had the wrong perception, I thought we were friends but in reality, they didn't think the same. Maybe I once said something wrong and they no longer liked me. I don't know. Overall, my thoughts weren't pretty.
"Anyways, before I slept. Jungkook Oppa called me to wish me a happy birthday, I told him that I stayed awake despite the fact that I'm tired but no one sent me messages. So Oppa contacted his friends and told them that it was my birthday.
"Today, as I said, I woke up really late so I couldn't check my phone as soon as I woke up. But I was in the car and I was really shocked at the fact I got several messages. Some were other people that I've known throughout the years, but a chunk were Oppas friends. I was really touched because they all sent me messages so I wouldn't feel insecure and I would be reassured that there are people who wished me a happy birthday. I don't want to name them, because I'm not sure if they want to be brought up I'm very thankful they all made me feel really happy."
Fai took a look at the comments coming through, all were positive which made Fai feel warm, "Thank you for the nice comments. Let's not talk about this topic anymore though. I don't have time to be upset."
" 'Fai in what order do you eat your cereal?' I eat the cereal, drink the milk and then breakdance to mix it all in my stomach." Fai answered the question with a straight face, "Very effective."
Fai's phone started to ring loudly, she took a peak, it was the actor Park Seojoon. She reached out declining the call, "I'm sorry, but it must be done. Anyways, '5 hitman bangs or 5-year-old hitman bang?' Neither."
Fai stared at the comments coming through, "I'm beginning to think that my life is an illusion. All of your questions are so odd. Come on people, I came onto this Vlive for attention and you're doing me like this. 'Dream Show'... Should we talk about that? I went to day 2 in Seoul I think it was back in November. The most memorable part was Jeno during Boom. I didn't know he was going to do what he did, to put it nicely it was unexpected but I don't want to see it again. But overall it was really good, I had fun. Jisungie, he's gotten so good and he grew up well. Also Chenle, his dancing is so much better live. Next year Chenle will be an adult, I already promised that we will go drink together, I'll teach him some stuff."
"Chenle for a while has jokingly been saying that he wants to speak to me formally because he's less than a year younger than me," Fai said, her eyes trailing to the person who walked into the artist lounge. "Anyways the Dream Show, it was a really good experience. 10/10, would recommend."
"Fai-yah!" Taehyung exclaimed, walking over and hugging Fai as she was sat and he standing over her, "Happy birthday."
"Thank you."
"I have Seojoon hyung on the phone for you," Taehyung smiled, sitting next to her, "Let me put him on speaker."
"Fai!" Seojoon exclaimed through the phone, "Why'd you decline my call?"
"Sorry! I'm on Vlive."
"I know! That's why I called you! I wanted to wish you a happy birthday! Fai, stay healthy, I hope you know how much I care for you and pray for your happiness. Everyone who is watching the live too, stay healthy and take care of yourselves!"
"Woahh, I didn't expect this. Thank you so much oppa!"
"You're welcome, next time I call, please answer!"
Fai let out a laugh, "I swear I will."
Taehyung spoke up, "Hyung, you're making it weird. I'll hang up now."
"Thank you for calling Oppa! I really appreciate it."
"No problem, I'll text you two later." Seojoon ended the call.
Taehyung turned to Fai, "How are you feeling? Do you feel better than last night?"
"Mmm!" Fai nodded, "I'm really happy."
"That's a relief, I'm glad that you're feeling that way," Taehyung looked to the camera, "People don't know how well I treat you."
"That's because you don't...." Fai trailed, Taehyung looked at her and Fai started to laugh, "I'm kidding! But yeah, you treat me well. To be honest, all the BTS members treat me well and I'm really thankful."
"You have the best seniors."
"I do!"
"Since it's our Fai's birthday. Let's talk about how much you've grown the past couple of years. What's the highlight?"
"Umm... Definitely my confidence and my height."
"Your height?"
"Well it goes along with my confidence. Since debut, I grew 10 centimetres and I started to feel really insecure about it. However, several people they told me how they like my height. Especially you oppa, you've always told me that you think my height suits me. As time progressed, hearing all those comments I started to believe them too."
"I'm a firm believer in that Fai's height is one of her best features. Anyone who thinks otherwise is factually wrong. Other question, who is your favourite BTS member?"
Fai answered automatically, "Definitely Suga oppa."
"You answered that really fast. Are you sure you don't want to think about it again? Maybe include me in your answer."
"But you rank pretty low."
Taehyung turned looking at Fai, squinting his eyes for a couple of seconds then smiled, "I like your wittiness."
"Thank you sir."
Fai looked over to her manager who was pointing to the clock, Fai said, "Anyways, I think we should go for now. My schedule will be starting really soon. Everyone, I'm really sorry for the short live but I just wanted to come here and thank you all for all the birthday wishes. Seriously I appreciate it so much. And Taehyungie oppa, thank you for joining me on the live as well."
"Everyone, please always love Fai and treat her well!"
