The Last Angel

Chapter 15

I woke up from annoying noise, I rub my eyes and sit, we manage to find a decent house to sleep. I'm hungry, I bet no food is edible here, when I walk outside I'm stunned to saw a man whose back is facing me. He is tall with tan skin and shaggy black hair, his's physique is muscular showing good discipline to maintain that body. I thought there is no one living here; confused I walk towards the man and he stops whatever he is doing maybe sensing that there is someone behind him.

When he turns around I instantly get caught by his familiar eyes, he smirks and walks towards me.

" At last the angel is awake " I know that voice, don't tell me-

" Hunter?"

" The one"

" You look-"

" Handsome" he smirks again. How on earth this Greek handsome man is the cat that I know. Maybe I stared at him for a long time because he cleared his throat. Embarrassed, I look away.

" Ready for training?"

" Hmm, yeah"

That's what we do for hours, it's exhausting, I don't know if I'm doing good or not. We're just doing some basic move on how to defense myself and how to attack. I'm distracted, how can I concentrate if what I saw is a good looking man in front of me. It will be easier if he didn't show me his true self and disguise in some ugly man.

I need to concentrate, the lives of people on earth are in my hand.

I'm starting to learn, he said I'm a natural warrior since my mother is one of the great. It's another accomplishment; I know this is not enough, I need to be better than my own mother because I'm facing a battle without the help of other angels.

We came back to earth to get supplies to survive and go back to heaven to train. For a few days, it becomes easier for me to open the portal, I get used to training, I'm mastering it. I'm feeling proud of myself.

Now I can say that if we encounter a demon I will not run away and be a coward.

We heard footsteps from afar, we immediately hide from on one of the houses and peek to know whose coming.

Still, the feeling of being nervous is there, passing on us are two demons. They look scary, red eyes, pointy teeth and tails, black wings, and big bodies. Why they are here, we need to get out before they notice that someone is here.

" Patrolling here is boring, why do we need to still pass by here every now and then to check as if there is still angel that is left, we wiped them for a long time " one of the demons sneered.

" This is an order and we need to do this" I listen to their conversation quietly. I look around and Hunter is nowhere to see, where did he go.

" Wait, did you smell that?"

" Yeah, it smells like vanilla. It's a very familiar scent that disgusts me. If I'm not mistaken I think there is an angel here"

My heart skips a beat before pounding fast, this is bad; they will soon find where I'm hiding. Where are you Hunter, I carefully step backward but creates a creaking sound on the wooden floor. Soon the door burst open revealing the two demons smiling widely.

" Looks like someone is here " I position the sword in front of me. The two demons get their sword and attack me. I dodge their attack, they are strong, each blow makes me step backward because of the impact, but I will not let them win.

I step forward on one of the demons bends downward and stab him directly on his heart, it fell on the ground. The other demon didn't waste time and attack me, I shield myself using my sword but still, he cuts me on my arm. Blood flow from my left arm; it's not that deep and painful but bloody. The demon licks his sword, it's disgusting.

"Your blood tastes sweet but it's different, there is something special on you. Surrender now kid and I won't hurt you "

" I won't "

He shrugs and continues to attack me, he is much stronger than the other one. I duck downward and kick him on the stomach sending him flying outside. The demon stands up and wipes some blood on his mouth, he looked pissed and dangerous narrowing his eyes and ready to kill me. Where are you, Hunter?

" Your different, I need to report this"

" You can't tell this to anyone if you are dead"

In one sweep motion, I decapitate the demons head. In my fast movement, the demon didn't have time to react on my attacked and unable to block it leaving him headless. Woah, I kill two demons not bad, training is paying off. Now that these demons are dead, I'm sure someone will check this area so we need to get out of here before an army of demons arrives here.

I heard someone clapping, when I turn around I saw Hunter looking proud.

" Hey, where did you go?"

" Oh, I hide so that you can fight those demons alone. We need to know if you are good enough to defend yourself and turns out you're better than I expected. Your mother will be proud of you" There is a joy that I felt on my heart knowing that I make my mother proud. This is just the start.

We go back to earth to hide, I want to visit the orphanage but I don't want to endanger the life of sisters and the kids. I need to finish my fight first before going to them. Even my life is pretty hard now, I learn to get used to it. Sometimes hiding is tiring, but our safety is the key. I can't make an abrupt decision that can jeopardize what we work for.

We need to wait and plan everything; my success will be the entire human race's success. It's so hard sometimes to think that there are so many people depending on you. They don't know anything about the battle that I'm facing now. Sometimes I'm thinking about my work, Marcus and Devon. What they are doing now, are they searching for me or even miss me.

This fight will be a long one, it's hard if you are alone, I hope someone helps us.

Surprisingly my nightmares lessen to none after my transformation. I'm so grateful because now I can concentrate fully on what I'm doing.
