"We should go out."

I turned to look at the boy sitting on the bed beside me while I was scrolling through Twitter. "Hmm? What did you have in mind?"

"Hell if I know, Scarlet. I just want to go out with you," Alex sheepishly grinned down at me as he fixed the hair that was tucked beneath his beanie. He still wears that thing even off camera—it's concerning.

I tilted my chin up to give him a light kiss on his nose, "you're kinda cute."

"Kinda?!" He exclaimed, widening his eyes in amused shock.

I giggled as I went back on my phone, "yeah, we should go out somewhere. It's almost winter and I don't want it to be too cold before we get to hang out."

"Okay..." Alex grinned, "...wait...now?"

I stared up at him from our close proximity as I shrugged, "I mean we aren't doing anything right now."

"Wait where are we even going?" He laughed in a high pitched tone as he got off the bed and stared down at me.

I pouted, "let's just walk around the city and see if there's anything to do. My brain is too fried to think," I sighed as I brought my hand out, indicating I wanted to get up.

Alex grabbed my hand and pulled me into his chest, wrapping an arm around my waist to steady me. He placed a quick kiss on my forehead that made my stomach flip as he then let go. "You should get ready."

I scoffed, "are you saying I look like I'm not ready?"

He giggled, "well obviously, or else I wouldn't have said it."

I gasped in amusement and flicked his ear, "hey! That's it Tigre's coming home with me tonight."

"Good! All he does is shit everywhere and eat the food I buy him. He's like a cuter version of a baby which also isn't saying much."

I rolled my eyes, "so he's acting like a...cat. How dare Tigre do such a thing!"

"Right! What an idiot," Alex said before grabbing his wallet. "Do you want to walk or drive to town?"

"Will you let me play 100 gecs in the car?"

"Absolutely not, hermosa."

"Then we'll walk."

Hand in hand, we ventured throughout the city that we were accustomed to for so long. I knew Alex wanted to desperately get out of Mexico, however he established such a big life here that moving out would be difficult. Maybe I was just selfish. Maybe I didn't want him to leave me. I didn't want to think about all of that just yet, especially since he hadn't mentioned anything about moving out to me. I could just sense it.

"Being outside feels nice," I smiled, basking in the sunlight as we walked down the empty pavement lined with stores.

"I'm just glad there's no one outside for once," Alex grinned. He still kept on a stupid hat, this time it was a black cap.

"You still kept your hat on," I pointed out.

Alex got shy as he turned his head away from me, "I wanted to take a photo with you for my Instagram so I had to keep my hat on."

My mouth fell open as my eyes crinkled in delight. I wrapped my arms around his torso as he got taken aback but eased into it and wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"I like you a lot," I simply stated as we had already stopped under a tree in the park. I still had my arms wrapped around him as he rubbed soothing circles on my arm.

"I think I maybe like you too just a little bit," Alex laughed, kissing the top of my head and resting his head on top of mine.

Sure, PDA in public is weird. However, there was no one in sight and in the moment, we were happy teenagers who were in like with one another. And it was...ethereal.
