Ivy fell unconscious near the dock, i panted at the spot. Trying to recall my normal breathing phase. I placed a hand on my hip, "We are nothing alike."
The aura around my scythe faded when i put it off with my magic. I swiftly swept the sweats running down my forehead. Remembered the amulet, i rushed to the door and knocked it off. My eyes scanned the room, until they landed on a certain golden object.
I fastened up my steps and approached it, the jewel on its center caught my attention. I reached for it quickly and snatched it from the box "Bingo."
My fingers finally tangled the amulet, letting my pupils admired the wretched copy. The ruckus from the outside greeted my ears. It was enough to snap my consciousness back into reality. I ran outside, turned to the corner to see Raiden fell on his knees. Scarecrow stood all mighty in front of him. The hostile raised his arm, gracefully pointed out the weapon he had. "That's it... let your fear consumes you..."
Not wanting to waste any more precious tine, i abruptly landed on my back after knocking him far with my feet. The dropkick made me grunt briefly. But, comparing what i did to Scarecrow, it was preferable. The enemy slid down the broken wall after his body crashed onto the planks holding the surface intact.
Getting back up in my stand, i let my eyes trailed back to the Thunder God. My realization came to a conclusion that his eyes turned vacant. I placed my hands on his shoulders, shaking him lightly. "Raiden?! Snap out of it!"
His sight was blank as a canvas. I bit my lower lip and reached for his face "Raiden!"
"No!" he exclaimed. He jolted up, pulled his own body straight upwards. Almost making me fell back as he leans closer. He stood in front of me with no cognition. Raiden's pupils shifted back, he trembled as he shakes his head. My hand reached for his head, bent his head down to lock his eyes towards mine.
I shook his hand lightly, "Hey, are you o--"
I cut off my own sentence when he pulled my head close. My face landed on his shoulder, followed by my widening eyes. Raiden wrapped his hand around my waist, gently caressing my hair. Raiden tighten his held on my figure.
"R-raiden?"
He stood silent. The gentle held he made makes my heart rate went up. Pink fluster painted across my cheeks. "Raiden...what's wrong?"
"I... i perceived your death..." his voice quivered. I tried composing the knowledge inside my brain. However, it took a moment for me to understand them. I turned to Scarecrow's lying body, realized instantly why he was called by that name.
His magic stimulates one's fear. Consuming the very weakness we carry. I brushed my fingers on Raiden's body, lifted my gaze up "I'm here...see? Well and alive," i smiled warmly. I reached for his face to reassure his beliefs. The Thunder God softened his stare, before nodding slowly. I broke away from his arms and glanced away in different directions, "Where is Kuai?"
The both of us turned to one of the docks, locking our sight to a figure all dressed in blue. He was leaning back on one of its pole. He looked exhausted. We immediately rushed to his side. I carefully merged my magic on his chest.
"You should've waited for our arrival, Kuai Liang," i stated.
Done healing the Lin Kuei, i reached for his arm and assisted him to stand back up. "I was caught while i was scouting. Glad you made it in time," he admitted.
I put out a golden piece of metal from my clothes, showing it to the two "Here it is, the troublemaker." The jewel reflected the light from one of the lanterns. Raiden's pupils reverted to it, as well as the Grandmaster's. I raised my hand and pressed the button lies on it.
"Bruce, come in. This is (Y/N)."
Not long after seconds have passed, a voice answered my call "(Y/N), what's your status?"
"We've found the amulet, and also we--"
My words were cut off, when suddenly a sharp sting came from the very middle of the amulet. Stung my very fingers. I grunted in pain and immediately lost the grasp to it. I stepped back, looking at the amulet which had fallen to the plank beneath our feet. I shook my hand lightly, removing the pain away.
"(Y/N)? Yo--ur v--oi--ce i-is b-brea--"
Bruce's voice were lost, cut through by every word. I tapped the button over and over, "Bruce? Bruce? Come in, Bruce," i raised my tone. But there was no reply, only statics. "Fuck..."
Sub-Zero kneeled and reached for the amulet, but before he could lay even a finger, a light merged from the very center. Gradually becoming swell. I blocked my sight with my arm, trying not to get blinded. The whole swamp was covered by the intense brightness. The next thing we opened our eyes, we were on a different ground.
