westons pov

On my way back to the waiting room I heard commotion. I saw a shorter black haired guy crying to a nurse.

"Her lungs are filling up with blood quickly she needs emergency surgery. It turns out we missed it in the x-ray." The nurse was saying.

I noticed the guy. His name was Wyatt McFadden. He was a huge jerk. Plus I see him looking at Julep a lot. But that's not the point.

I walked toward Amy and Lucy. they were sitting next to each other. Amy was on her phone. Her eyes met something across the room and she jumps up and strides past me. I watched as she walked over to Wyatt and gave him a hug. Wish a sigh I turned to Lucy.

"How is she?" My voice was raw and I barely get the words out.

"Um, I don't know." Lucy had tears in her eyes but they didn't spill.

"Oh," I said sitting down. Julep flashed through my mind. I had to be strong. I had to jeep it together.

Then it hit me. Julep was in surgery and no one except me knew. I stood up and went to the counter. tears welled up in my eyes as I said, "There's by this girl....She uh..she..." I drifted off and tears spilt. I wiped them quickly.

"What is it hon?" The small nurse said concerned.

"You have a patient in surgery and she has no family here. Could you call them?"

"We can't do that. I'm sorry."

"Please. It's important."

"Sir, please have a seat."

I was getting frustrated. Juleps family should know.

"Please it will just take a second." I gritted my teeth.

"Sir, please have a seat. We can't do that. I'm sorry but-"

"I said Call!!" I slammed my fist on the counter and pushed off a jar of pens.

ALOT of people were looking at me and I felt someone grab me. I kicked and punched but I was stuck.

"Weston!" I heard a sad voice yell.

My head snapped to a Lucy. She was next to a grim doctor. Lucy shook her head at me and looked down. Then I remembered Julep. I quickly fought to break loose from the guards and rushed over to Lucy.

"What happened!?" I was on the verge if tears.

"Kayleigh." Lucy sounded sad.

"What about her?"

"She dies wes," Lucy said.

I was in shock. I had completely forgot about her. I thought they were talking about Julep. At the same time I felt relief I felt sadness. One of my only friends was dead.

I couldn't even cry. Not about Kayleigh anyway.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Her stab wound punctured a lung. It stopped her heart."

"Ok." I sat down.

Amy was by my side crying.

"We are gonna call her family." He doctor said.

"Ok. Cone on guys lets get going." Lucy was saying. Amy stood up and walked out with Lucy. Without turning o LOOK at me they just left.

I sat in the chair and waited. And waited. And waited some more. Then my eyes drifted shut and I fell asleep.

****

I was awoken by my shoulder being shook.

"Weston?" It was Juleps light voice.

I snapped my eyes open. I wouldn't say I was necessarily disappointed to see Hailey, but more like shocked.

"Hailey?"

"Yeah. We are here for Julep."

"Is she okay?"

"No news. They just called Karen and said she was in the hospital. We don't even know what happened yet."

I remembered the blood. There was so much blood.

I looked at Hailey. Her face was beat red and tear stained. She sat next to me Nd just stared forward.

I looked up at a clock. It said 11:00. I had been here for about 6 Hours.

"Julep." A young women said.

Me and Hailey were on our feet. The I saw Karen rushing towards the lady.

"Is she ok?!"Karen was yelling.

"She just got out of surgery. I came to take you guys up to the second floor to wait for the doctor." She nodded her head and we all followed.

We went into an elevator and when we came to a stop on the second floor the doors opened.

We walked into a lobby like place. The walls were a light brown and it was dimly lit. Doctors were walking about and people were sitting in chairs. The nurse led us to the dark brown chairs and told us to have a seat.

"Someone should be out with results soon."  Then she was gone. Someone who knew something about Julep. Gone.

I fell I to the seat with a sigh and put my head in my hands. I tried to focus on  noise of beeping and shuffling feet.

"Sir, We have some news about Julep." I heard a women say.

I looked up at her name. I saw the same women from earlier that let me stay in the room with Julep.

"I'm her guardian!" Karen yelled getting to her feet. The doctor looked at her and back at me.

"Um, She is out of surgery and is currently stable. Julep was shot in the chest. The bullet grazed her heart. When she came in she was dead."

"What are you saying?" Karen piped up.

"She is in a medically induced coma." The women as speaking to me.

There are no words to describe how I felt. I didn't really know how I felt. All I know is that I was stuck. I couldn't move or breath. I just kept seeing her flash through my mind. Images of her, thoughts of her. They kept replaying in my head. It made me feel like she was ok.

I took a deep breath and focused on the thoughts. Without a word I sat down in the chair.

I looked over at Karen. She had her head in her hands and she was sobbing. Hailey was sitting next to carrying a blank expression. I turned my attention back to the thoughts replaying in my head. I kept seeing her arrive on her motorcycle. The way I curiously stared. Every image if her seemed to playing like a movie.

I closed my eyes and let the thoughts of Julep pull me away from what was going on.
