The Angel Of Death Right Behind Me

It's cold and wet outside, she waited until the rain stopped but I don't think it really makes a difference.
The ground is still wet, the sky is still dull and I'm still trapped with her.

She actually lives in the woods surrounded by nothing but evergreen.
All around us are pine trees, they completely surround her house.

I really regret getting into her car that night.

Camila's-POV

"How fast can you run?"
"I—what..?"
"If you outrun me then you're free."

Honestly, if she did run fast enough she would still most likely die trying to find her way out of the woods.

"Free? I can just go... I actually get to leave."
"You have to run fir-."
Before I could finish she takes off into the woods.
Smarter then she looks.
I wait a few seconds before taking off after her, It's not fun if I catch her immediately.

Surprisingly she runs faster than I thought she would as well.

It doesn't take to much effort to catch up to her though, it does however take effort to grab her.

"NO!"

She screams as I tackle her to the ground, pinning her down.
Her screams sound desperate and defeated, actually thinking for a second that she was close to freedom.

There is no freedom from me.

"No! I was so close. Just let me go, please, please just let me go!"
She struggles and I smile.
"Remember your friend?"
That made her stop struggling.
"They found her. Such a shame what her boyfriend did, taking such an innocent life like that."
"S-Stop."

She—they have to know she did it, not him...
How can she just get away with it? I was hoping someone would realize, hoping that they would find me once they figured it out.
They have to figure it out, they have to know it's her.
"Would you like to join her?"

The walk back was quite.

I don't particularly care about anything.
(Well aside from Lauren which is a first and last) but I think I'm going to miss her more than I thought I would.
It's odd because I'm not sure why she had an impact at all.

Maybe I should have just kept driving that night.
