Bodyguard AU!

Toru sighed as his hazelnut eyes scanned the files. Business wasn't going well for the Oikawa's lately and he couldn't help but take the blame. He heard someone clear their throat and looking up he saw Iwaizumi Hajime, his personal bodyguard, staring at him. Toru quickly tucked the files away and smiled.

"Iwa-chan! You're back, how's your mother?"
"She's fine, thank you for funding her surgery Toru. It really helped." Hajime thanked, a grateful expression on his face.
"Oh it's nothing. She's basically a mother to me too."
"You seemed stressed when I walked in. Is everything okay?"

Toru's cheerful expression faultered slightly and he hoped Hajime didn't notice.
"Yeah everything's fine. Just a lot more paperwork since I took over the business. Super boring." He joked.
Hajime raised an eyebrow at him, "Are you sure that's all?"
"Yep Iwa-chan! You don't need to worry about me."
"It's literally my job to worry about you." The raven scoffed, rolling his eyes.

Before Toru could respond there was a knock on the door.
"Come in."
Toru's personal assistant Watari walked in, "Sir, Mr Kageyama is here to see you."
"Tobio?" Toru questioned and Watari nodded.
"It's been a while since he's visited." Hajime added.
"Indeed it has. Watari, please escort him here."
"Of course sir."

"What do you think he wants?"
Toru sighed, "I don't even know. Perhaps flaunt. I heard the Kageyama's have been having an increased rate in sales lately."
"Maybe."

"Oikawa-san. How are you today?" Kageyama said as he entered the room. Despite the nice words, his voice was cold.
"I'm fine Tobio-chan. What brings you here?" Toru asked, his smile forced. Hajime stood protectively next to Toru, Kageyama always gave him creepy vibes.
"Oh, my father sent me here to pass on a message. He wants to cut all ties with the Oikawa's." The raven said bluntly, looking with disinterest at his nails.
Both Toru and Hajime's eyes widened. The Kageyama's were The Oikawa's longest and best business partners. Toru's fists clenched and he took a deep breath to prevent him from releasing hell on the smug 20 year old.
"Why?"
"The Oikawa's have had a dramatic decrease in their production rate. Sales are dropping and things really just aren't looking good for you. I always you weren't fit to take over after your father."

Hajime stared at Toru with surprise and disbelief. Why hadn't Toru told him any of this?
"Toru what's going on?"
"Iwa-chan, can you step outside for me please." Toru ordered, glaring straight at the smirking Kageyama.
"What? No."
"Hajime. Out. Now." Toru never called him that. Never. Hajime looked between Toru and Kageyama before walking out of the room, but not before side eyeing Kageyama.

Kageyama took a few steps forward until he was just in front of Toru.
"Soon you will be out of money. You'll have to fire everyone. Sell you're families properties. Throw away everything the many generations of The Oikawa's have built up."
"It's not my fault. You have done something, haven't you? Told all my father's business partners to cut ties?"
"Me? Never. They just knew you weren't good enough for this position." Kageyama chuckled before continuing. "You will be in debt and so many people already hate you. All it takes is a little owed money and there will be a bullet in your head."

"Are you threatening me in my own home Tobio-chan? Brave. But I'll have to ask you to leave now. Wouldn't want me to accidently call in Iwa-chan and give him the order to do whatever he wants to you. And trust me. He doesn't like you very much."
"Remember my words Oikawa-san. They aren't empty threats." And with that he turned on his heel and walked out.

Toru almost broke down right then and there but Hajime walked in and he had to keep the smile. But Hajime was furious. He hadn't heard what what just said, but he was pissed that Toru had told him how business was going badly.
"Why did you tell me?"
"About what?"
"Don't act stupid. Why didn't you tell me about the rates?" Hajime asked.
"I didn't think you needed to know about the shit I've caused. Everything has just been fucked up ever since Dad died."

Hajime put his hands on Toru's shoulders and looked him dead in the eye.
"Of course I need to know. Because you do this all the time. You bottle up all this information and your emotions and you self destruct. Tell me what's going on. Now."
Right now. He wasn't Iwaizumi Hajime, Oikawa Toru's personal bodyguard. Right now, he was Iwa-chan, Crappykawa's childhood best friend.

Toru sighed and tried to hold the tears back.
"Nobody thinks I'm fit to take over. Nearly all of my dad's business partners have cut ties and cancelled contracts. We've lost so many connections and I can only fund out production in limited amounts for another month tops. I'm such a failure and a disappointment to the Oikawa name."
"No."
"No?"
"No. You're not a disappointment. You're a great man. It's not your fault. I know about the shady business your father was involved with and you didn't want any part of that. You were trying to clean the Oikawa name. You will find new connections, you will find new partners. Ones that are genuine."

Hajime pulled his best friend into a tight hug. And Toru sobbed into his shoulder.
"I can't keep paying you anymore Iwa-chan. We have almost no money left."
'That's what he's worried about?'
"Do you seriously think I'll leave you in this mess just because I'm not getting paid anymore. If me being paid is the only reason I'm here then I would have left you years ago. I've stayed all these years because I care about you. You're my best friend. I'm not going to leave you dumbass."
"You promise?"
"I promise. Now, first of all. I'm going to kick Kageyama's arse. And then we're going to search for new business partners."
"How are you so cool Iwa-chan?"
"Maybe because I've been around you my whole life."
