Hunger Games AU!

Panting, he raced through the dense forest. Outreached branches scratched him and tried to hold him back but he couldn't stop. Not if he didn't want to be slaughtered. His lungs felt as if they were going to explode and his legs were going to tear but he kept running. He caught sight of a large shroud of bushes that could surely be enough to cover himself. Pushing himself beyond his limits, running faster and getting behind the bushes. 

His breathing was heavy and he wanted nothing more than to take deep breathes but he had to be quiet not wanting to be found.

"Where did he go?" A boy from District 11, Kindaichi, asked. 
"Dunno, I know he went in this direction." Kunimi, the other one from that district asked.
"Well the river isn't far from here. Perhaps that's where he's going." Matsukawa from District 3 offered.
"Let's go then!" Another boy with strangely pink hair yelled. 

He didn't breathe out until he knew they were gone for sure. His entire body ached, his legs specifically. He nearly screamed when he was pulled back suddenly.
"Shh! it's me." His eyes widened at the familiar gruff voice of the other tribute from his district.
"Kyoutani?"
"Yeah."
Yahaba turned around and hugged the other tightly. It had been days since they were split up by the forest fire the Gamemakers caused.
"You're gross." Kyoutani grumbled, hiding his face in the taller's chest so he wouldn't see the blush that had set his cheeks ablaze.
"I'm so happy to see you again." Yahaba admitted.
"There's a small cave not far from here. It's where I've been staying." The blonde said.
Yahaba nodded and tried to get up but his legs gave out straight away, luckily Kyoutani caught him. 
"Sorry, my legs hurt from running for my life." The brunette joked and Kyoutani rolled his eyes before going to bridal carry the other.
"Wh-what are you doing?"
"Carrying you dumbass. Unless you want me to leave you here."
That shut him up.

The pair soon reached the cave, it was dark and cold and Yahaba tried to ignore the sticky stuff he could feel when Kyoutani placed him down on the ground. The blonde lit a small fire that illuminated the small space. Yahaba noticed a large cut on his forehead.
"What happened?"
Kyoutani looked confused for a moment but then realised when he was talking about.
"Some guy from district 1, Oikawa I think. Real dick he is. He threw a dagger at me and it just grazed my head. He has shitty aim if he was trying to kill me." Kyoutani explained. 
"Well I'm glad he has shitty aim."

Kyoutani gave Yahaba a look before rolling his eyes, "This isn't the place to be all cute. There are still 6 other tributes left trying to kill us."
"Well we'll just have to kill them first." The taller replied with a smile.
"Didn't know you were so sadistic."
"Eh. The Games does things to people. And that group of four tributes have been chasing after me for days, I would love to return the pain they have cause me."
"Well I'll help you. Did they touch you?" Kyoutani asked, his eyes scanning the other.

Yahaba lifted his shirt to show several bruises and a couple cuts.
"I was up in a tree and one of them shot an arrow at me and I fell out. They got a couple hits in before I was able to get away. That was...three days ago? They've been after me since then."
"I'm gonna kill those bastard."
"And I'll be right here to help. I also really want to get out of here and shower."
A low chuckle came from Kyoutani and Yahaba intertwined their fingers.

"We'll get through this, right Kyoutani?"
"Yeah."
"Together?"
"Together."

It was better to say this than admit what they already knew. Even if they killed everyone else.

Ugh, I have to go back to school next week. My break is nearly over and I'm not ready for it. Anyway I'm gonna start putting the next chapters I have planned at the end of every couple chapters.
