Deal
"Jaide, is there something wrong?"
Pinukaw ni Kade ang atensiyon ko. I was staring at the man in white for so long. Bumaling ako kay Kade at umiling. I went inside the car and started the engine. Sumilip pa ulit ako sa side mirror ng kotse bago nagsimulang mag-drive palayo.
Nakatulog si Kade sa shotgun seat. Mabuti naman iyon dahil kung magkukwento siya'y hindi ko rin mapakikinggan nang maayos. My mind is clearly occupied by that man.
Seven years felt like a day just went by. Napakatagal pero napakabilis. I haven't seen him in that long period of time... I chose not to. But I heard some news about him, topping the boards here in the Philippines. I also heard about their firm and I can say that they have a strong foundation.
I chuckled bitterly when thoughts came rushing in me.
May pumalit na ba sa'kin?
Agad kong itinigil ang pag-iisip tungkol doon. Alam kong masasaktan lang ako. Sa mga nagdaang taon ay hindi ko inungkat ang mga detalye tungkol sa kaniyang pag-ibig. I did wonder but I kept my curiosity in me.
"I'll call you for updates on your condo," I told Kade when we reached the hotel front.
Dala na ng isang bellboy ang kaniyang mga luggage. Hinihintay namin ang keycard niya mula sa staff na nasa lobby. Magara ang hotel na napili niya. Well... what do I expect from Kade.
"Sure. I'll be in our hospital most of the time. Ikaw naman ang mas busy sa ating dalawa," he laughed.
"Sabagay," I laughed with him. "I'll go now. People are starting to notice me."
He looked around and nodded. People are starting to look in our direction because of my presence. Maski ang staff na nasa lobby ay nakatitig na sa'kin. I mean... kay Kade? Siguro?
He waved me goodbye and I started walking back to the parking. I drove back to my penthouse. Humiga ako agad sa kama ko at nag-message sa group chat.
Jaide: Who's available tonight?
Akala ko ay mga busy sila dahil working hours pa ngayon pero nag-reply din naman agad.
Creed: Bakit? Papainom ka?
Solaire: Dumb. Kaiinom lang kagabi. Unless, you want to die? Halika rito sa ospital, tuturukan kita.
Creed: Kalma ka lang, Laire... Buti nga hindi ka namin iniwan doon.
