Here we are. Today was the big day.

Cassie has been practicing like crazy, dedicating her time carefully to ice skating. And today was the big competition.

After much convincing from you, cassie decided to pursue her dreams. The thing that really surprised you was what she really dreamt about.

*flashback*

"Show me what's your favorite thing to do in the whole world that you dream about." Your words echoed in Cassie's head. She felt nervous, thinking about what you'd think of her passion. She decided to hussle up, inhaling sharply, and strapping on her ice skates, awaiting for your arrival.

Cassie sent an address to you to meet up with her. Tonight, she promised to show you what she dreamt about and what she wanted to pursue career wise.

As you pulled into the parking lot, you discovered that it was an ice skating rink. Intrigued, you walked in to hear the slicing of ice skates skating against the smooth rink floor.

And that's when you saw your lovely angel, gliding effortlessly along the rink. Your eyes followed her perfect figure, seeing her doing tricks with confidence and pure wit.

Cassie noticed you admiring her and quickly stopped herself, turning her body around to face you. Carefully making her way over to you, you couldn't help but fall in love with her even more. Her passion was something you never expected yet ice skating fit her qualities so perfectly.

"So, what do you think?" Her voice beamed and her face was endlessly smiling. Cassie couldn't help it. She always felt happy and at peace with herself when she ice skated and she wanted that emotion to shine through to you. She did tell you all of this later on but at this moment, she wanted you to see what she kept stored away.

"It's.. incredible." You were at a loss for words, in shock of how talented Cassie was. She simply laughed at your reaction, both of you leaning closer to each other over the gate of the rink. "This is what I wanted to show you. This is my passion, y/n. I love ice skating."

*back to the present*

You softly smiled to yourself, reminiscing on the memory as you drove your car down the road, following the gps for directions. You were glad Cassie had something to be proud of and to finally have the courage to showcase it. You clearly knew she was doing something she loved which made you even happier.

Lexi would sometimes make random conversation to break the silence whenever the aux cord decided to act up, making both of you laugh.

You finally got there with Lexi, walking into the huge stadium with a lump in your throat. It was Cassie's first competition and you were fully supporting her.

Upon entering the stadium, you politely greeted Suze, Cassie's mom. "Hey there, y/n!" Suze exclaimed, excitedly hugging you. Suze liked you. She thought you were the perfect match for Cassie and the best boyfriend she's ever had. According to her, you're the reason why Cassie is happier. And that was your greatest achievement.

"Hey, Suze. You're doing okay?" You asked, pulling away. "Yes, of course. Come here, darling!" Suze went to hug her youngest daughter, Lexi, and then the three of you proceeded to find your seats in the stadium.

After watching a few of the skaters, it was finally Cassie's turn. The one you've been waiting for. Your leg started to bounce a bit but Lexi's hand on your knee gently calmed you. "I'm nervous too. But she'll do amazing. You've seen her out there." Lexi assured you. You nodded, starting to get excited for Cassie. You knew she could do this.

Then in no time, she came out from behind the gate, skating her heart out. Her figure began to flow with the music, performing tricks like they were nothing but also everything in the world while her ice skates left a clear trail behind her and her blonde hair trickled down her back, the glitter on her outfit seamlessly shining against the lights.

Despite Cassie being nervous at first, she began to think of you while she skated, making her light up and continue skating like there was no tomorrow.

You admired her from your seat. You've seen her practice some times and even that shocked you. But the real performance made your stomach turn and your heart flutter. You couldn't see Cassie's expression and you couldn't tell what was going through her mind but you could definitely tell that she was loving what she was doing and she strode across the rink with confidence, twirling her way around carefully and maneuvering herself with ease. It made you proud to see her enjoying herself.

Once Cassie's performance ended, the whole crowd was cheering her on. However, you and Cassie's family must've been yelling even louder than you thought you could as your throats felt strained. My Cassie better win you thought to yourself.

Anxiously waiting for the results of the competition, all the competitors stood in the middle of the rink while names were being announced of who's getting eliminated. You can sense from afar that Cassie was nervous. You wanted to hold her but you couldn't do that just yet. You had to hold in your breaths.

Cassie's name got called after a batch of people got eliminated. And that's when they announced a winner.

"Cassandra Howard!"

It all felt like a slow motion moment, seeing the love of your life becoming closer to achieving her lifelong career goal. Seeing her pictures being taken for first place made your heart pump and your body jump for joy for her.

You decided to be a classy man and buy her chocolates, some of her favorite snacks, and flowers on the way home. It was a busy day full of people wanting to eagerly interview Cassie, get pictures with her, and introduce her to new managers in the athletic industry, looking for her talent.

You couldn't stress how happy you felt for her. Cassie noticed how you couldn't stop grinning on the way home and she just found it adorable. Upon entering your shared apartment, the two of you immediately crashed into bed.

You playfully threw Cassie onto the bed and jumped in right after her, hugging her close to you. "My baby won! My baby's going gold!" You proudly shouted out. Cassie went into a fit of laughter, trying to calm you down, her face turning a shade of red.

"Shut up! You're gonna get the landlord up our asses." Cassie teased, nudging your shoulder. As you laid next to her, you decided to let your thoughts slip out a bit after calming down.

"But seriously though, I'm proud of you, Cass. I can tell you love those rinks. You did it... and you know what's funny?" Cassie turned to you in slight confusion. "What?"

"It's not just a win for you. It's a win for me too. I got a beautiful girlfriend who can ice skate." You turned over onto your stomach, your head hovering over your loved one below yours, sharing a deep, passionate kiss.
