Chapter 75: Skipping

"You waited?" I asked and she nodded.

"You don't have to wait for me" I scoldingly said and she nodded weakly.

I put back the excess food and started eating quietly.

I could feel the tension thicken as seconds pass.

"...How was it?" She said, breaking the silence.

I coughed at the sudden question and quickly drank.

I looked over her and her face was red, probably as red as mine was.

Silence took over once again, the awkwardness pushing down on me like bricks.

She's waiting for an answer... I thought.

I breathed deeply, "it was go-"

"You don't have to-"

We stared at each other for a few beats and laughed.

The tension quickly fading away, we ate comfortably.

"So you think it was good?" She asked a little nervously.

"Don't you think it's inappropriate to ask that while we're eating?" I smiled.

"W-well it's not every time I top and-"

"Chlo"

"Yes I'm sorry" she stopped talking about it.

"So you said we're skipping school?" I asked and she hummed in approval.

"What's the excuse?"

"Technically I'm already excused so I just told them I'm not going." She shrugged.

I nodded, "what about mine?"

"I told them you couldn't walk" she said nonchalantly.

"What?!"

"...because you were sick" She added.

I slumped down on my seat, "why didn't you tell me that in the first place"

She shrugged and smirked playfully.

"Do you want to do anything today?" She asked, "we have a lot of free time"

"uhm..." I started and placed down the spoon, "I'm going to Tori's today"

"Oh..." She said, looking disappointed.

"I'm going back though" I managed to say, "I'll just grab some stuff and head back"

"Really?" She looked at me and smiled.

"Yeah" I smiled back.

It's been 4 hours since Chloe dropped me off at the house.

I was just lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling.

Alexis was at work and Elise was downstairs, I didn't bother to answer her before I locked myself up.

This is so wrong... I thought, I told her I'd be quick...

The door busted open and I sat up.

Tori was holding her phone, looking angry.

She marched to me and shoved her phone.

"Tori what the-"

"Elizabeth what the fuck?!" She yelled at me and I pushed her away.

"You shoved your phone on my face and you ask me that?!" I said, feeling myself get annoyed at her.

"There's a girl waiting on you and you lie there like nothing!" She said and stepped away from me, breathing heavily.

"What?" I asked, oblivious.

"I hate you right now" she hissed.

She raked her hand to her hair and tossed me her phone.

"I have a presentation to do, I told the professor I was going to the clinic." she said before going out and slamming the door shut.

I blinked before staring at the phone, I could see a chat box opened.

I picked it up hesitantly before reading it.
