Morgan looked at the contents of the jar, placing it in her handheld basket, walking down the aisle as she looked at the shelves, grabbing crushed vervain along the way. She walked over to the checkout stand, placing her basket on top,

"New project?" The woman behind the counter asked

"Just stocking up on a few things" Morgan replied, shrugging slightly

She gave Morgan a small smile, adding up the price of her selected items, her eyes trailing around the counter, her gaze landing on a tall block of wood with many hooks sprouting from it,

"That's beautiful" Morgan said softly, her eyes landing on a necklace

The woman, who was also another witch, followed her gaze to an amethyst necklace that hung with a silver chain,

"Take it" the witch said, looking at Morgan "it calls to you, it's yours"

"What would you like for it?" She asked, looking at her

"Free of charge" she smiled

"I must give you something for it, Marie" she replied

"It's yours" she said, her smile growing

Marie took the necklace from the hook, handing it out to Morgan, who let out a small sigh through her nose, a soft smile forming on her lips as she reached out, gently taking the necklace from her hands

Marie took the necklace from the hook, handing it out to Morgan, who let out a small sigh through her nose, a soft smile forming on her lips as she reached out, gently taking the necklace from her hands. She looked at Morgan, watching as she looked at the necklace, unclasping it and putting it around her neck, the stone hanging a few inches below her crescent moon choker, in the center of her chest.

"Thank you" Morgan said softly

"You are most welcome" Marie replied with a smile

She payed for her items, grabbing the brown paper bag, giving Marie another smile, walking out of the small shop, making her way home.

The sun was warm, but that didn't stop her from wearing her favorite coat, the weight of it on her shoulders providing a sense of security, not knowing why. She held the bag close to her as she walked down the sidewalk, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear, taking her phone from her pocket to check the time. Her body collided with another, a gasp emitting from her as the paper bag and her phone fell to the floor,

"I am terribly sorry!" A man said

"No, no, it's my fault" Morgan replied, a smile forming on her lips "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going"

They both kneeled down, collecting the items that had fallen out of the bag, placing everything back inside, Morgan grabbing her phone, placing it back in her pocket at she stood straight. The man looked at her for a moment, handing the brown bag back to her with a smile that would make any woman practically fall to their knees, but it didn't affect Morgan.

"Thank you" she said "and I'm sorry, again"

"Not a problem, love" he replied

Morgan gave him a small smile, walking around him and beginning to walk away,

"I couldn't help but notice the items in your bag" he said, following her "may I ask what they're for?"

"Oh, I make a special tea" she replied "it helps me sleep at night"

"Really?" He asked, earning a small nod from her

A hand suddenly grasped her neck, the air gushing around her, grunting as she was pinned back against a wall, the bag falling from her hands and crashing to the floor, the hand adding pressure.

"You can't fool me" he said lowly "who are these items for?"

"I told you" Morgan replied "it's for a tea - "

He slammed her head back against the wall, a wince emitting from her, feeling him lean in closer,

"Tell me" he said lowly "or do you wish to - "

"So you're the one they pissed off" Morgan said, cutting him off

He looked at her for a moment, adding more pressure around her neck,

"Who made the potion?" He demanded, his eyes dilating

Morgan's face went blank for a moment, looking at him. But a smirk formed on her lips, watching as he winced in pain, letting out a small yell as he released her neck, both hands grasping his head, taking a few steps back from her. She moved her right middle finger, watching as he was thrown back against the wall, the pain in his head slowly fading,

"I did" Morgan said "and I really wish you hadn't done that. I get that they're scared of you, but you should also be scared of me" looking at his reaction "and judging by the look on your face, I take it that no one has ever been able to do this to you, and that makes you angry . . . you want to kill me" a small sigh emitting from her nose "I only wish it were that easy"

She bent down, picking up her bag and the jar of vervain that had fallen out, standing straight as she placed the jar back where it belonged, looking at him. Morgan walked up to him, raising a hand and softly running the back of her fingers along his cheek, feeling the stubble against her soft skin, not noticing that he closed his eyes for a brief second. Her eyes connected with his,

"Please . ." Morgan trailed off "don't follow me"

". . I won't follow you" he muttered

A small sigh emitted from her nose as she dropped her hand to her side, giving him a small nod and turning around, walking out of the alley. Morgan began to make her way home, what she was trying to do in the first place. As soon as she was far enough away, Morgan released the hold she had on him, causing him to land on his feet with a small thud, walking out of the alley, watching as she walked away. As much as he tried, he couldn't follow her, his feet were firmly rooted to the floor. But he could still feel that feathered touch on his cheek, his hands slowly clenching info fists, nostrils flaring as he looked at the woman who rounded a corner, fading away from his sight.
