CHAPTER 19

"Of course I do!" Oliver said, his eyes wide. He looked like he was on the verge of a panic attack. Good. Sorry, was that mean? I honestly don't know what's happening to me. Probably the negative vibes of being back here, even if this was our home and all.

"Oliver, you just said that you did something to Percy and you were going to do something to Camp," Annabeth said quietly, her voice breaking, "Oliver... you basically just confessed."

"Please," Oliver begged, his eyes watery, "Annabeth, I love you more then anything in the entire world. Anything I might have done... I did it for you! So we could be together!"

"So you did do something. Not that that wasn't already obvious," She added the last part bitterly.

"Annabeth-"

"To be honest, I always knew something was up with you, something weird, but I never said or did anything like a fool because I just loved you so much. I'm honestly started to think I never did love you... and I can't see how I ever will, Oliver."

I could almost hear Oliver's heart shatter.

He wore a look of utter sadness, but as soon as he laid eyes on Hazel, Percy, and me, plus Annabeth who now stood next to us, his expression turned to one of pure hatred. He scowled, clenching his fists. His eyes darted around madly, but they soon landed on Percy, glaring into his soul. It was honestly quite creepy.

"You," He growled, pointing at Percy. "You did this to Annabeth! You took her from me!"

"Me?" Percy said, taken aback. "All I did was show up!"

"And that's all you needed to do! Show up and ruin everything!" Oliver roared, throwing his arms in the air. He looked furious... he sounded furious. Don't tell him this, but I was honestly super scared right now.

"Look man, all I did was show up to foil your evil villain plans and that's what I did so ha! I'm just being the hero," Percy said, raising his palms in defense.

"Oh, you really think you're a hero?" Oliver spat.

Percy frowned. "Well-"

"Well what?" Oliver snarled. "As far as I know, you haven't helped save a single soul my entire time here! All you did was fall into my trap immediately. And no one here needs saving anyways. I've fixed Camp Half-Blood and everyone here. I've made it a better place. I've made my mark on the world. And no one is going to mess it up for me!"

"Well guess what?" Percy said, crossing him arms (though he still looked a bit hurt by Oliver's words).

"What?" Oliver said dryly.

"I'm going to be the person that messes it all up," Percy said smugly.

"And me," Hazel butt in.

"Me too," I said.

"And me," Annabeth said coldly.

Oliver just scowled even harder which I didn't even think was possible. "Fine! You can try!" He said, a crazy, maniacal look in his eyes. "But Annabeth, as soon as you find out the real bitches these people are and how hard it is not to be with me, you'll come crawling back!"

"We'll see about that," Annabeth said, crossing her arms.

Oliver just seemed to get more angry by that response. "Whatever! My point is, you won't defeat me! You're not powerful enough!"

"Guys, let's go," Percy said, turning to us. We all nodded, then began to follow Percy down Half-Blood Hill, the opposite way of Oliver. Oliver just continued to scream out a bunch of swear words, but for some reason didn't run after us. Odd.

"I'm so glad you're back Annabeth," Hazel smiled.

"Yeah," Annabeth said, looking at Percy, "Me too." Annabeth laced her hand in Percy's, and Percy seemed to stiffen up at that for some reason. And for some reason, Annabeth doing that made me kind of mad, but I didn't know why.

Weird. But wasn't this entire situation?
