Austin's POV
After I made the announcement my father mind-linked me.
"We need to talk" he minds
I get up and lead my father off the deck where we began to walk.
"Son, you can have potential threats coming up and it's important to protect your family" my dad says
"I know, father but what do I need to do. Maxine suggested we go to Jìafatt." I say
"You could, but he can only do but so much. All he could do is tell the vampire council about her ways" my father says stopping
"You need to recruit more warriors and hunters. Pray to the moon. Find your own tactics" my father says
We walk back to see everybody gone and my mother on the couch with Maxine. Both of them get up immediately. My mother gives me a heart warming smile and I hug her. Maxine smiles at my dad and he smiles back but it looks weird because he usually doesn't smile. My mom and Maxine smiles and hugs my mom. We say goodbyes as my parents leave. When they leave Maxine takes me outside and changes into her wolf. I look at her beautiful gray fur while her glowing green eyes stared at me. I change into Blade. I walk up to her and she starts walking slowly. I walk beside her and see the moon reflecting off her gray coat.
"What are you staring at wierdo" she mindlinks me
"Nothing" I mind
Maxine/Scarlet stops dead at there tracks and look at something. I follow their gaze to see a ghostly tribal woman with red hair.
"It's almost time" she whispered before fading away
Scarlet cocked her head and started to run after the apparition. I got infront of her stopping her dead in her tracks. She looked at me. She shifted back to herself, her naked self. She sat on a log and looked at me. I walked up to her and tried comforting her but she pushed me away. I growled and changed back too sitting right beside her.
"What's wrong with you now? I ask a little irritated
"We have a child who's in risk of being in danger, Austin. Our daughter who's just a baby" She says
"I know that but we can just panic that's how accidents happen!" I say
"So what you don't want to-to Panic! Not to stress! Our people, our daughter, our home could come to an end!" She yells
I knew she was confused and frustrated, I was to but what more could we do but get emergency plans made.
"Listen, baby I know how you feel and I will keep everything safe I promise" I say trying to calm her down.
I get us both up and embrace her. I lay my face in her hair that was currently down.
"Austin?" She says
"Yes?" I ask
"You promise?" She asks
"Promise" I say
And we stand there in a tight embrace
