I put on my warmest clothes and slipped into a pair of boats.

I put the hood on my jacket up and sneaked out of my bedroom window.

I didn't want aunt Becky to know I was going out in the pouring rain.

It was almost dark out, but I could still see the car.

The car was going down the street and I started to run after it.

This time I was sure that missy was in the car...

And someone was next to her.

"Wait!" I yelled, running in tons of puddles.

The car started to slow down and I stopped running to catch my breath.

The person stepped out and it was Lucas.

"Lucas!"

I ran towards him and hugged him tightly.

He hugged me back, rubbing my back with the palm of his hand.

I looked up to see missy getting out of the car. "Nothing seems to work does it.. I don't understand."

I got out of Lucas's grip and stared at her.

"I understand you don't like me and all... But stalking me and trying to kidnap my boyfriend is taking it to another level! You seriously need some help."

She scoffed at me. "I wasn't stalking you, you idiot! I was helping Lucas out."

"What?" I said, blinking.

I looked next to me to see Lucas nodding.

"I dont understand.."

Missy rolled her eyes and said, "it started raining so I took your little boyfriend to your house for him."

I blinked again. "What were you doing in my neighborhood then?"

"I was saying bye to one of my best friends in this neighborhood... I thought her house was hers so that explains something." Missy said, stuffing her hands in her pockets.

Okay.. This was hard for me to process. Missy is being nice?

"Why did you pass my house then?" I asked, looking for more excuses.

Missy looked at our surroundings. "It's dark outside, I couldn't see the house. Have any more questions?"

She may be trying to be nice but she is still very sassy...

"Umm.. Thanks I guess." I said awkwardly.

She nodded. "It was fun playing around with you hart. See you around."

She stepped into her car and drove off.

Lucas and I stood on the sidewalk, getting soaked in the rain.

"Did that really just happen?" I said.

Lucas wrapped his arm around me. "I guess so."

We walked into my backyard and sat on the hammock.

"But why was she being so nice?" I asked him.

"People can change..." He said, looking at me.

I smiled, looking up at him. "That is true."
